  1. My pants got a little tighter just now.
  2. Glock sights are cake to install. It shouldn't cost you more than $10-15 from anyone who does it.
  3. Mav, I'm digging the strat. I figure if baby blue is good enough for someone like Beck or Clapton to play, it's good enough for anyone.
  4. Eh... I had friends in high school who worshipped at the altars of Satriani, Vai, Van Halen and Lynch. They burned out too. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by someone, but if all you focus on is being like someone else, you're never going to find your own place and be happy with it. Same pretty much goes with anything else in life too.
  5. I hate gun shows. With a passion. Two years ago Joe @ Hero Gear and I tried to start something new in the area... gun shows that weren't your typical gun shows. Maybe it was poor location or just the wrong time of the year to start something like that, but the turnout wasn't all that hot from either the vendors OR the patrons. I guess I've still got a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing, but every time I hear someone else complain about how gun shows suck I can't help but think about how bad the turnout was when we tried to do something better. I think most people are content with what they see at these local shows, honestly.
  6. @Extremescene -- Thanks for the offer. I am always up to see new guitars. I have a Les Paul Studio Deluxe (Vintage Sunburst) and an Ibanez AEL30SE (Dark Violin) that I bought to learn on. The Les Paul was sort of my "holy grail" guitar and drives me to practice daily. I may upgrade to a higher end LP down the road, but this should end up staying with me for the rest of my life being that it's my first. The Ibanez was the result of several weeks of reading reviews, playing guitars at Guitar Center, and finally deciding on an acoustic-electric to use when I don't want to be tied to an amp. I picked it up this morning and have been pretty pleased with it so far.
  7. Who here plays guitar and for how long? As if I really needed another hobby, I recently decided to scratch a 30-year itch and start learning to play. So far it's been a total blast and I spend at least 30 mins a day practicing, but frequently it's more like 30 mins in the morning and an hour in the evening. Feel free to post guitar porn if you've got pics of your axe(s) to show off.
  8. There's just something warm and fuzzy about a 10/22 with a suppressor.
  9. Agreed.
  10. Praying for your son and the family. God bless.
  11. Terribly sorry to hear about this. RIP, sir.

    M&P 9

Randy's got some new toys coming out for the M&P series soon that will make the triggers even better.
  14. I'm extremely hesitant to grant use of our logo in any shape or form to any outside entities. Let me think on this.
  15. Is it really any different to consider the same situations, substituting a pedestrian for the cyclist? I'm trying to determine how a person can have the freedom to walk wherever he might want to walk without fear of impunity, but a cyclist should consider the setting or risk taking a cola bottle upside the skull for riding on a busy street.
  16. No apologies necessary. I'm far from diplomatic.
  17. Daniel and I haven't spoken but clearly he and I are on the same page. I've grown very tired of closing threads. People need to think ahead about the potential [social] ramifications of what they are about to post -and- be willing to put up with whatever may come to pass as a result of their statements. Forums are an anomaly in that people feel a certain freedom to speak before they think, with the assurance that a moderator will strike their comments from the record later if it hindsight bears out that they shouldn't have said it to begin with. I can think of several threads lately where moderators have been put on the spot to save someone from themselves. It gets kind of old. In this thread, clearly there are two camps of thought. I would propose that there is one camp that has the support of logic and common sense. Since Erik88 finds this whole thing rather tedious now, I'll throw a life preserver into the waters: 1. Cyclists have as much right to be on a roadway as any motorist does unless that roadway expressly prohibits one or the other of them. 2. Any member of either camp who endeavors to terrorize or assault the other because they cannot share the roadway deserves to find the full weight of the law bearing down on them as a consequence of their actions. 3. Further, common sense dictates that a person driving a several-thousand pound vehicle should show the common courtesy of yielding to the person riding a several-pound bicycle since the person in the vehicle could easily, accidentally, injure or kill the person on the bicycle by crowding them or -- worse -- throwing objects at them. All of which brings me back to my original statement, albeit with much less efficiency: If you throw things at or crowd a cyclist from the confines of your vehicle, you are a world-class a**hole and you deserve to be fined, incarcerated and, honestly, beaten for it. If I saw you do any of those things to a child of mine on a bicycle, you would be fortunate for the police to arrive before I finished kicking their bike up your ass. Is this cerebral enough for anyone?
  18. Why is debating necessary? I swear, sometimes I think we as forum members... or members of society for that matter... try to make certain things far too cerebral. When a person is being an a-hole, there's no need to waste precious oxygen debating the matter is there? I don't feel that compulsion.
  19. Wow... based on some of the extremely unreasonable posts in this thread, I can only shake my head in sad amazement at how many complete a-holes we have carrying guns. Hint: It's not the guys riding bikes.
  20. Honestly, guys... as much as I appreciate this, we really aren't in a position to need it right now. If you guys want to do a benefit for a charity of some sort, that'd be even better in my opinion.
  21. Post #6 here and not once has it been mentioned what you want the thread title changed to...
  22. No surprise. Build a gun shop in the middle of the ghetto and you're going to get robbed sooner or later. I'm sure he factored this into the decision to build there and determined that the financial payout outweighed the risks.
  23. This seems to have taken on a life beyond being a normal intro thread. I'm moving it into a more appropriate forum.
  24. I've never had anyone comment on my PM9 when I carry it inside my pocket. Maybe you should invest in a better holster.
  25. Since no one else has asked... how exactly did your co-worker come to see your firearm?
