I honestly cannot remember the last time I seriously heard someone suggest a Galco holster as being a viable option for discrete carry. There are so many better options out there that I can't believe Galco is even still in business. FIRST... Being a little self-conscious at first is normal but you need to get over it quickly. Your nervousness and constant fiddling around with the gun, holster, your shirt, etc are what will give you away long before anyone notices a slight lump beneath your shirt. If you're concerned that your shirt is too tight, wear a looser shirt. You will have to make some adjustments in your attire from time to time. SECOND... There is no such thing as a one-size fits all carry solution. If you intend to carry everywhere you are legally allowed and want to make sure that no one sees it, you will be investing in a pocket gun of some sort down the road. There simply will be times that only a pocket gun makes sense. THIRD... You spent anywhere from $300-1000 on a handgun for carry. Don't be cheap when it comes to holsters or belts. Buy a purpose-built belt meant for supporting the weight of a firearm and holster. Gun Belts by The Belt Man is highly recommended by me and many others. I've been using his belts for nearly 8 years and they are the only belts I will buy now. As for holsters, I am a longtime fan of the Comp-Tac MTAC holster but recently have become an even larger fan of the Occidental Leather Company's Stronghold Phoenix IWB holsters. If you change guns as often as you change underwear, go with the MTAC and save yourself some money. If you've settled on a gun that you believe you will keep and carry for some time, get the Stronghold Phoenix. FOURTH... Realize that as long as you are carrying where you are legally allowed, who gives a rat's ass if someone else notices your gun "printing" or your shirt slips up over the grip slightly and exposes it. You're legal so everyone else can go F-themselves. Once you have that squarely in mind, you can start relaxing and relaxing is going to help you with the first point above. Good luck. And stop f'ing with your gun when you're carrying.

It only stings because it's true.

Mexico continues to send us Mexicans.

Let me give this some more thought.

Oh man... I am so sorry for your loss.

That looks like an insane amount of fun. Do want.

Fine weapon and a good shop. Excellent choices on both counts.

My faith in statistical probability is starting to waver.

It's one thing that he watches the forum and knows what folks here really think of him. It's another type of "awesome" entirely that we've got sycophantic members who feel the need to scurry back to their digitally-deficient mentor and tattle like school children. That koolaid must really be strong. Let's be mature adults here for a second and ponder this for a moment: Does that look right to anyone here? Seriously? Does that look like something you should ever do, no matter whether you have checked the gun in that student's hand a million times before giving it to them? That REALLY looks like a valid instructional method to anyone present? My personal opinion is that it is nothing more than showmanship meant to inspire a sense of "Whoa... what a bad ass!" in the students. I can't think of a single instructor that I've taken classes with who would ever... ever... EVER do something as silly and downright dangerous as this, let alone demand that their students participate. What's next? Standing downrange with an apple on his head? That's just absurd and, again just my personal opinion here, he should have his instructor's license pulled for that sort of negligent behavior. It's just wrong on so many levels and it subjects the student(s) to the possibility of mental/emotional/psychological trauma on a level that that you can't possibly exaggerate should something go wrong. I'm personally giddy with anticipation over the idea that sooner or later he's going to use the experience of blowing his finger off as anecdotal proof that people should only buy revolvers. He's pretty outspoken against automatics anyway, as anyone who has been in one of his classes or has sat in a TFA meeting at his facility can attest. Oh, and I don't live in Murfreesboro. Just sayin'.

It's pretty obvious to me that the UAE started producing these not to gain export sales to the USA and other consumer markets, but so that they wouldn't have to keep sending their money to the USA and other producer markets. There's nothing wrong with that, particularly, but it'd be nice if the US Government started exhibiting some of that same territorial preference when it decided to buy weapons.

Bah. Some people will always accuse someone or something else of causing the error rather than manning up and taking blame for their own mistakes. Just because a certain firearm design MIGHT permit firing out of battery, it doesn't remove human fault from the equation. They just don't go off on their own.

"OK, now pull the trigger so that I can see if you're flinching."

You know what they say... God smiles on fools. No, wait... that means God smiles on us according to Buford. Oh well, I'm OK with that too. I'll never forget the day that I saw him have his students point their guns at him on the National Guard range down here in Smyrna. It was kind of like seeing the Great White Buffalo. You've always heard it existed, but you never really believed it. I wonder if he'll keep doing THAT now that he's re-discovered the fact that sometimes people don't follow rules and don't unload their guns. Of course, that would be something of a self-correcting problem too.

I'm just glad he shot himself and not a student.

Given the circumstances of this questioning, it's really none of your business. This thread is done. You can continue using the site for free, on someone else's nickel, and stop complaining about not getting something for free... or you can go somewhere else and bitch there. Totally your choice, but I can help you make the decision if it persists.

I agree. My wife disagrees. It's a sound of my childhood. We used to get them what seemed like every summer growing up in Kentucky.
-
Thanks for sharing, though. Complaining that you're not getting something for free that other people see the value in and are willing to support doesn't make you seem like an entitled douche at all. It just makes me want to put even more effort, use more of my free time, and spend more of my money making the site better for everyone else.

Millions of the little buggers here in Rutherford Co.

Such as the case may be, but we're all fools who still have our pinkies. Arrogant dick.
