Every time I read articles like this, I am further nauseated by the decline of our "civilization" -- if you can call it that any longer. Children with lukewarm IQs have been giving each other dirty looks since the dawn of time but we didn't have a name for it until now. Mugging: the act of starting at each other and giving each other dirty looks. Since the act of being mugged is reasonable cause to use deadly force to defend oneself, I guess the next time someone appears to be staring in my general direction I can just start "gangbanging" on them. I'm about ready to move to the mountains, far away from people.

Contrary to popular politically-correct opinion, profiling is a legitimate tool. We should all engage in profiling to an extent as part of our "situational awareness" methodology. That does not mean you should go on high alert if you see someone different, but if it tweaks your spidey sense, pay attention and adjust accordingly. Just keeping it real.

Um... how about just teaching him that life isn't about guaranteed success but that satisfaction should come from putting forth a good effort in the pursuit of something? Sorry if that seems callous, but I see "entitled" people everywhere I look and I figure it's up to us to break that cycle. Delete all of your TGO cookies from your computer and try again. If you have something conflicting in your browser's cookie cache, that could be causing the problem. Based on your initial comment, however, I am pretty sure we won't miss you much if you decide to just give up on TGO entirely and resort to the other 8 or 9 gun sites you visit frequently. Just let me know if that's the way you want to proceed and I'll make a rare exception to policy and delete your account for you.

Not to mention with certain mobile units with cross-band repeating built in (Yaesu 8800 comes to mind) you can bounce your hand-held through them and get out further than with the hand-held alone. This is very useful on hikes and such, provided your mobile is operating off of non-switched 12Vdc power. Which is yet another reason why I'd start with the mobile first.

I would agree with this as well. Get together with another temporary agency and count your blessings, disguised as they might be. At least they didn't call the police, right? It's a learning experience.

I've inadvertently done it before at a past job. Ended up carrying my PM9 around in my pocket all day as a result of being unable to discretely go back to my car and getting run-over with work to do. No one was any the wiser. This is just one of many reasons why I preach discrete concealed carry. If you're doing it right -- and barring metal detectors or strip searches -- no one should be able to tell from looking at you. I'm not advocating carrying in places that by law you should not. I'm just saying that sometimes we are, by virtue of our desire to play by the rules and be good citizens, our own worst enemy when it comes to matters of discretion. Gun owners do it all the time: tatting on themselves, self-consciously tugging at our cover garments thinking that the whole world can see our sidearms, etc. We need to put common sense ahead of this odd society-taught behavior. It appears that essentially all of the various Internet Service Providers (Comcast, Charter, AOL, etc.) have updated their DNS records for TGO and are now pointing our members to the new server. That said, I would like to open this thread to serve as a "Report Card" of sorts on the new server. Primarily I'm interested in hearing your impressions of: Page loading speeds Any delays or errors Timeouts There are some features that may still not be working 100% for 100% of our members. Features such as email alerts, for example. Email is a tricky beast that most people just sort of take for granted and assume it will always work. Unfortunately despite our best efforts some ISPs continue to block our forum's opt-in automatic alerts and consider them to be spam. Not because of TGO necessarily, but because of the thousands of forums out there running vBulletin sending those same emails. To a spam filter, the same email coming from countless domains looks like spam. So there really may not be anything we can do about that. But besides email, what are your impressions? Thanks!

Funny, yes. But I hate it when people throw this out there since it downplays the importance of capacity when compared to the insignificance of caliber. Wolves travel in packs. If all you have are 6 rounds in the magazine and 1 in the pipe, and are shooting the accepted best practice of non-standard response (3-4 rounds per target) what are going to do when wolves #3 and #4 join the fight? At best, waste precious seconds reloading? At worse, fumble the reload? Throw the empty mag at them? Wish you had more rounds? Die?

Delete your TGO cookies and try again. I'm not surprised that is happening since moving to a different server. It did it to me earlier as well until I made the same change.
