  1. I'd say the odds are pretty good that it's in his best interest to swear by something provided to him for free by a sponsor.
  2. I still fail to see how this is a 4th Amendment issue. My rights end where someone else's begin. If they, as the land owner, wish to refuse entry to anyone who refuses a search, both parties are within their "rights" to refuse. No harm, no foul. But if you want entry to their property, you must decide if allowing them to search your person is an acceptable trade. Seriously this has nothing to do with the 4th Amendment.
  3. Granted these are designed for squad light weapons where reloading in the heat of things is not exactly something the operator wants to have to do. However, I'm sure that there are going to be gear whores who buy them up simply because it's the most "elite" new thing you can dangle from the underside of an AR platform. I won't begrudge a man the chance to spend his money his way, but it's just going to seem extremely silly to me the first time I see one of these at a range.
  4. I've been reading bits and pieces about this mag for the past few months and thought that surely the price point would fall considerably once they hit the street. Apparently not as I've received several advertisements from various vendors who now stock them at the low low price of $170-ish. Are Surefire out of their damn minds?!? I think I'll just buy eight standard 30rd mags instead of one Surefire 60rd mag and just get proficient at swapping them, the way every other AR shooter has been doing for the course of history. Definitely not for the average shooter, nor was it meant to be I presume. SureFire High-Capacity Magazine, 60-Round
  5. Or... Or... just maybe these officers were giving everyone a courtesy check to make sure that we all knew that they were going to be sitting there watching our speed. Holiday weekend and all that. I'd rather have a cop warn me than have a cop light them up and ticket me. Just saying.
  6. Ah... someone noticed it. It's a feature I've been meaning to implement for a while now and finally had some time to do so this morning.
  7. Benefactor status was renewed by this user on 6/26 and then the charge was reversed by Paypal on 6/29. That can happen due to insufficient funds or because the user requested it from Paypal. Regardless, the user would have known that this happened. Clearly there was also a case of the user continuing to list items for sale within pre-existing threads. Ban issued. Threads removed.
  8. Benefactor status is added and removed automatically by the forum software. I'll check into this and see what's going on. That said, anyone who edits a previous thread to sell something else after their Benefactor status expires is knowingly trying to cheat the system and that's not cool.
  9. I dunno... maybe I'm just an ******* but I think I could sleep pretty easily given the way the circumstances were described. The family of the deceased seems pretty upset about the police having shot the guy walking around with a rifle, but none of them were concerned or involved enough with him to prevent him from walking around with a toy rifle to begin with? I hate what our society has become. No one accepts fault anymore, they just want to foist it off on the police/government/someone-else. Mentally deficient or not, dude should not have been walking around with a toy rifle, pointing it at other people and other objects. WTF were the police supposed to do? Let him pull the trigger and find out of it was a toy or not? Nice shot, officer. You went home alive.
  10. How about a link to some threads like this?
  11. TacTeacher - welcome to TGO. Your first and only two posts so far have been carrying Chad's water. Chad is welcome to advertise and has been presented that opportunity now on more than one occasion, and has declined to support the site thus far. However he was warned that we would not tolerate guerilla advertising from others on his behalf and what you're doing is bordering on that. I hope that you will move on from this subject and enjoy the rest of what TGO has to offer. As always, the door remains open to Chad to promote his business here the right way; the way that the other vendors have. That said, I want to be absolutely clear that we have no problem whatsoever with our members who are likewise his customers showing off their latest purchases when they are rightfully proud of what they have acquired. That is a different animal entirely, so long as it is being done appropriately and without other agendas lurking beneath the surface. Thanks.
  12. The last mentally deficient person carrying a rifle with an orange tip on it ended up causing quite a stink here in Tennessee.
  13. Let's keep the brash generalizations out of the thread and focus on the participants in this instance. Thanks.
  14. Well done. Now pick up a G19 and give it some company.
  15. If we'd just start expediting the execution of criminals who engage in armed robbery, we'd have a lot less armed robberies pretty damn quick.
  16. Don't **** with Robin Hood's car.
  17. In stores? I would agree to an extent. Among individuals? Hardly. Used guns are selling quite fast; a look at the Trading Post areas on TGO is proof of that.
  18. What is a Subject Matter Expert? Just as the title would suggest, a person designated as a Subject Matter Expert is someone who has experience with a given subject that uniquely qualifies them as someone who can speak to that topic from an authoritative stance. They may have a career background through which they have acquired years of knowledge and first-hand experience on a topic. They may be a serious student of a particular topic, having amassed years worth of knowledge studying a discipline and mastering it. SMEs for this forum... 21. Several problems here... 1. I have not received a PM or an email from the OP. 2. The OP's original posting was not the recommended way to start a working relationship as it contained a lot of advertising verbiage. 3. There is a big link at the bottom of each page labeled "Advertise With Us" as well as within the Code of Conduct as well as within the new user registation screens. It's kind of hard to miss our stance on unsolicited advertising if you are sincere about being a good neighbor. 4. Several unwarranted contacts within this thread from users who should have left it to the Staff to handle by reporting the post using the button included inside each post. OP - contact me directly.
  22. Hero Gear used to be one of our preeminent sponsors back when Joe was running the place.
  23. Fido is a great movie, as has already been mentioned. Highly recommended.
