  1. Oh, I think it's crap too... I just know that when you're in Rome, you have to do as the Romans.
  2. How is this a shake-down by NYC? She broke their law, plain and simple. There is no reason why a 39 year old professional woman with a carry permit since 2008 should be excused from knowing where she can or cannot take her firearm. She's very lucky that she didn't end up serving a jail sentence in New York as a result of this. Sometimes it still really surprises me that people treat their carry weapon like a forgotten pack of gum, stuffed down inside their purse or briefcase. If you carry the thing in the manner that common sense dictates is the most prudent way of doing so -- on your person -- then you generally don't forget that you had it stuffed down into some dark recess out of sight and out of mind. It's like some people get their carry permit, get a gun, shove it into their daily travel kit an then forget about it entirely. Like just having it is some sort of magical talisman that will ward off evil or "make them prepared". I'll donate $20 to get her some real defensive handgun training, not another gun that she'll forget she's carrying.
  3. Between your choices as listed, the M&P 9 would get my vote.
  4. I need screenshots of the errors so that I can investigate. Some folks who had problems were just not seeing the proper buttons on screen because of the web browser they were using. Firefox and Chrome seem to be the most reliable. Moving this to the Feedback and Support forum where it belongs.

    SW M&P9's

My M&P 40 has been put through hell and never has malfunctioned. I have close to 15,000 rounds through it at this point. Probably more than that but I can only confirm that number based on the cases of ammo that I have fed it over the years. Only it and my Glock 19 bear the distinction -- with me -- of having that high of a round count without a problem. I'd trust my life to it and frequently do.
  6. Isn't this thing somewhere around $400 to purchase, or did I completely misread their own web site?
  7. Just by way of an update... I have begun installing the Classifieds software and will be unveiling it in the next day or two. It really just depends on how much time I get to work on it today between other projects. Stay tuned!
  8. Welcome to TGO!
  9. Sounds like someone at eBay HQ decided they needed to recover part of the market they've lost to sites like GunBroker.
  10. My first thought exactly.
  11. TGO tends to police itself more often than not.
  12. Something tells me I don't need to go look for one of these online, lest it follow me home...
  13. The only adjustment I'd make to your plan is to maybe do the graphic on the buttstock in a subdued black on black scheme. That upper is a classic; it might look a little gaudy with the bright graphic.
  14. The last time I spoke with him was via email not too long ago. He simply said that he had desired to re-prioritize his life a little and spend more time with his family than on-online. I can certainly respect that. It's also worth repeating that he works a lot of hours for his job so it was even more critical to him to spend less time online.
  15. My sentiments exactly. I agree with his views, and just as I felt it was good that 'W' relied upon them to guide his governance, I think Santorum will be more than happy to go sliding down a very slippery slope.
  16. I really, really can't believe that TN went to Santorum. That guy's spin on government via religion scares me.
  17. That works, but I'm trying to make it so that you guys can edit your own thread titles. Right now the moderators are getting hit from every angle with people asking for thread titles to be changed, threads to be closed in the Trading Post, etc.
  18. Welcome to the madhouse, Tony! For the rest of you... Tony is good people. I'm glad he signed up over here finally.
  19. I'll amend my previous statement, then... Ban communal pooping in the sink! But in all seriousness, this sort of thing certainly doesn't bode well for the antis making their arguments against legal carry. It's going to be a PR nightmare if/when someone accidentally pops the trigger on their carry weapon and drills the poor guy trying to read the Morning Constitutional sitting on the adjacent toilet.
  20. The money isn't the problem... it's only $35 plus a minor additional support fee every 6 months, but that part is optional. I may take a chance on it soon and set it up in a test basis somehow so that we can all play with the software a bit.
  21. Very strange but thank you for confirming. I'll have to see if the subscription module's author knows about the problem.
  22. It it were only illegal to take a dump, this wouldn't have happened. Think about the children: Ban communal pooping.
  23. Another nice thing about our switch to the IPBoard software is that it has a really nice Classifieds add-on that I can purchase and use here if the members would like that. Essentially the software allows a full featured Classifieds solution that includes photos, better presentation of the item(s) for sale, a more tidy interface for questions about the items, etc. You can see a demo of it here: http://dev.millne.com/classifieds/ I'd like it if you all would take a look at the demo and give me your feedback here before I invest in a license of the software. The up-front cost is not prohibitive but it would require an investment of my time to get it all set up and tweaked for TGO. If you all would prefer that we keep things the way they are now, let me know. One nice thing about this is that it integrates with the IPBoard mobile skin, so those of you surfing from iPhones and Android phones could still see the classified ads in a native format. Unfortunately I have no idea if it would work with, or how it would look on, Android phones if you use Tapatalk. So that's just something to keep in mind. Thanks!
  24. Oh, I wasn't complaining... I think it's awesome that you guys notice the little details. It keeps me on my toes, too!
