  1. TGO Trading Post ... The Return! Back by popular demand are the TGO Trading Post Forums, our Classifieds ads section. GONE is the enhanced Classifieds software that caused a schism among the members between those who liked it, those who tolerated it, and those who utterly hated it. A lesson was learned along the way: Don't screw with the formula! So what does this mean? Here are the bullet points: The enhanced Classifieds software is gone. Any ads posted within it need to be re-created by their authors using the TGO Trading Post forums. Sorry, I realize that's a pain in the butt, however it is a necessary evil that we will get past. The Trading Post forums are now back online and available to view via Tapatalk. I know this was a big deal to a lot of folks and I'm glad we can accommodate you once again. There are also some changes that you need to be aware of. Those changes are... The Trading Post forums are now set so that only TGO Benefactor members can post publicly within them. This means new threads or replies to threads. If you want to post publicly in the Trading Post, become a Benefactor. It's not expensive and it helps me offset the cost of running and maintaining a forum the size of TGO and keeps the rest of the forum free to be used by anyone and everyone. The Trading Post forums now allow Benefactor members to upload attachments (!!!) directly to their posts. This means you can upload a photo straight to your advertisement. Right now I'm limiting every Benefactor member to 5MB worth of total attachments on the site so be sure to size your photos conservatively. This means don't upload a full high-resolution 30000000 pixel photo from your super-duper camera phone. Shrink that sucker first then upload it. If you don't, you'll run out of space quickly. As always you can still upload your photos to Photobucket or other such site and then link to them in your posts. That doesn't deduct from your 5MB limit. TGO Benefactor members will soon have the ability to moderate their own threads (!!!) in the Trading Post. Open, close, edit, delete... you get the idea. I am waiting on a software update that will let this happen. As soon as that software is released, I'll be adding it to the forum so that you guys can take care of your own Trading Post threads. MORE POWER!!! It almost makes you giddy, doesn't it? Did I mention that only Benefactors may post public replies to Trading Post threads? Yeah, I mentioned that... but it's worth repeating because I know someone is going to ask "Why can't I post in a Trading Post thread blah blah blah?" and I'm going to point them right back here to this announcement. So pay attention! Only Benefactors may post public replies from this point forward. Sorry but that's just the way it is going to be. We've had too many people try to screw the system and cheat their fellow members by sneaking items in for sale or trade within an existing ad paid for by a TGO Benefactor. That's simply stealing and I'm tired of it. So are the Benefactors and I don't blame them one bit. They support the site, so should you. If you're not a Benefactor and you want to contact a seller about an item, contact them privately. So that's where we are as of this morning, June 5th, 2012. If you have any questions or concerns let me know via the Feedback and Support forum. Thanks! --David
  2. Terrible news. My sincere condolences to his family and his friends. A quick look a moment ago at his Facebook wall brought tears to my eyes. What an outpouring of love and respect for the guy. We can all only hope to be missed as much when our time comes. RIP, Paul.
  3. Yep... you guys are all "clients" I suppose. What an odd name for the feature. I still love IPB compared to vBulletin but some of the nomenclature still throws me from time to time.
  4. I agree. This forum needs to be overhauled a bit to ensure that the news stories being posted are about firearms. OhShoot, want to moderate it?
  5. Every so often I'll watch some CNN and feel like I'm getting my fix for the ramp-up toward the apocalypse.
  6. No need to apologize. If someone feels the urge to post up an allahu akbar or Hail, Flying Spaghetti Monster my sentiments go the same for them. To each their own. I'm siding with the Jewish carpenter, personally, but I'm also siding with our forefathers who felt that folks shouldn't be molested because of their choice of religion.
  7. I guess that gives me a certain power to retract it too, right? After all, you see how well it has ever been adhered to which is why it isn't part of the official "Rules, Terms and Conditions" linked to at the bottom of each page. The original decree you're referring to hasn't been posted in over a year to the best of my knowledge. Frankly I'm tired of us having to have a "Rule" for everything, either here on the forum or out there in real life. I don't think you guys really want the moderators involved heavily in every thread any more than you really want your legislators involved heavily in your lives.
  8. Apparently you forgot to put your big boy pants on before you decided to willingly participate in this thread. I'm sure there are many things you've said on TGO that these folks wouldn't agree with. Should we have an rule against curmudgeonery? Simply put, if the thumpin' hurts, find another thread that doesn't. You're a grown up. Exercise some "free will".
  9. Leonard Embody try to get them to post a few years ago.
  10. Not the first time God has flooded an area to wash away the human filth.
  11. This is the only one I was able to find that fit the bill for tacticool and padded. I never bought one, but it's been in my bookmarks for a few months now. http://www.lapolicegear.com/3-way-laptop-case.html
  12. Yeah well, that's because the government remembers back in the day some of its own had the same date with destiny.
  13. Guys... let's avoid the bravado and steer clear of anything that can be construed as having racist connotations. I don't mind discussion about these topics so long as everyone frames their thoughts and comments objectively. That doesn't mean we have to be blinded by political correctness, it just means that we need to keep things centered in reality and not stoop to rhetoric or broad assumptions.
  14. So can we hang these mother####ers yet? Is there a rope shortage in Knoxville or something? Anyone who commits as heinous of crimes against others as these vermin did, regardless of race, color or creed, needs to swing from a tree until their legs stop kicking and be left there for a day as a warning to anyone else who would dare commit the same despicable acts.
  15. And... we're done here.
  16. I'm not really sure the "I'll never shop there!" comments from people all across the state carry much (any?) weight with a business who really looks to draw consumers from about a 30-45 mile radius. It's kind of silly, really. I know the guys at On Target and have never gotten a raw deal from them. It's a shame the OP wasn't able to get satisfactory service.
  17. Ok so... I recently bought the Tapatalk HD app for my iPad and am now a firm believer in the software.
  18. That thing makes me want to go out and spend some money. Nice!
  19. That's complete and utter nonsense.
  20. Inventory for insurance reasons.
  21. Agreed with the above. We have several attorneys here on TGO who are Vendors specializing in NFA trusts. I'd give one of them a shout.
  22. No worries here. I'm very equal opportunity when it comes to my assessment of thuggery. Like I said, it comes in all colors, shapes and genders. Be vigilant.
  23. We went sailing by it a few decades ago.
  24. Sure. But those people come in all colors of skin. Like I said, history is rife with incidents where the abused finally got tired of it and started lashing out. This isn't a black or white thing. It's a thug thing.
