  1. If you vote the lesser of two evils, you're still voting for an evil.
  2. Hey - can we stop giving that assclown even a dishonorable mention around here or what?
  3. Pretty sure most officers would consider that "brandishing" and you'd be on the wrong end of a conversation with them about it. Sucks, but it is what it is. In the past I've answered the door with a gun in my hand hidden behind the door. Now I don't even bother answering if I'm not expecting someone, and again, a firearm is always within reach - whether on my person or not. I've had a few roaming "salespeople" come up my driveway while I've been outside and I never let them get to the house or the garage. I will halt them as soon as I see them and then approach them but keep my distance, and tell them to hit the bricks. I've only had one moron try to come closer to me and I cut him short and told him to either turn around and go or it was going to get ugly for him. He cussed me the entire way off my property. No skin off my nose; my job is protecting my family - not making friends with random strangers who can't follow simple instructions.
  4. I was just about to post the same comment.
  5. I'm glad to see that the most recent posts in this thread are moving back toward discussing the issues and away from attacking each other. Good job all.
  6. Become a Benefactor and sell it here at a good price.
  7. Sadly I agree. I've yet to see anything productive come of these types of petitions. If you really want your voice to be heard, vote some of these f'ers out of office.
  8. Best statement in this thread so far.
  9. This issue comes up frequently. As I've stated before, I don't answer my door unless I am expecting you - day or night. If you're not expected, you have no business beating on my door, ringing my doorbell or coming up my driveway, and there's always a firearm within reach.
  10. The Spartans would throw the "defective" children from a cliff in order to keep the gene pool strong. What this little thug needs is a cliff, not a role model. It's too late for the Big Brothers approach.
  11. This thread brought to you by the letters "OC"
  12. Best of luck to you! Please keep visiting us. The Internet goes all the way to Alabama too.
  13. I run a dual band 2m/70cm rig in my Jeep. It's enough for me and keeps me from having a god-awful 40m antenna (i.e. Huge, ugly) on my vehicle. I'd considered putting a similar 2m radio in our Raptor but decided there really wasn't an ideal place to mount it or the antenna without uglying up the truck. I'd think long and hard about how much you really figure you'll use 40m in your truck. There are a lot of good 2m repeaters around town for rag chewing and those antennae are pretty small and discrete. There's not much of a way to hide a 40m antenna.
  14. We get this question every so often: Someone pays for a Benefactor subscription but they notice that their account still isn't updated to reflect it. Usually the reason for this is because the funds used to pay for the subscription did not come out of their Paypal account balance or a credit/debit card, but were processed as an electronic check by PayPal. When this happens, PayPal takes 5-10 business days to process the transaction before they release the funds. Once the funds release, the member's Benefactor subscription is automatically activated. So if you've paid for a subscription and it's not showing up yet, this could be why. However if you are certain that the funds were automatically deducted from your existing PayPal balance or were processed as a credit/debit card and your Benefactor status still hasn't been updated, please post a request for support and we will be glad to look into it for you. Thanks!
  15. This is the way it's going to be. It's not going to change. We tried it the other way before and people kept trying to screw the system and slide things in for sale under the radar. As others said, use the PM feature to contact the seller. If they're not smart enough to notice that they have a new PM waiting for them, there's not much I can do to help.
  16. Sorry, but you're kind of reaching for straws here. My previous statements still stand but they are not and were not a mandate that people abandon their own critical thought processes and lay down their own opinions. I merely asked that people consider not crucifying the entire organization because of the actions of one person. How does that come into play here, exactly? You seem to have a substantial erection for both Tactical Response and making me out to be the bad guy here. There's apparently no cure for the former and honestly I'm not sure there is for the latter either. Some folks just get their rocks off trying to poke the bear with a stick. Unfortunately for you, the bear stopped caring about that a long time ago. Hope you're getting what you need out of this, though. It seems like a sad existence otherwise.
  17. Yep... General Class here. I've been meaning to get my Extra license but just haven't had the time to devote to studying. My background is electrical engineering also, so the theory stuff isn't that difficult. Just a lot to dust off in the space between my ears and remember how to apply some of it.
  18. You guys clearly aren't tactical enough.
  19. Careful, guys... reaction based on emotive behavior leads to the dark side. Liberals think emotionally. The older I've gotten, the less I am swayed by these acts of random violence. Maybe it's the desensitization that comes from having walked through the valley of the shadow of death several times myself, but within our lifetimes we've all seen the depths of what evil men can do. 9/11 was a far greater tragedy in terms of number of people massacred, you know? Stay calm, stay vigilant. Don't let the bastards wear you down.
  20. This shouldn't surprise anyone. It was one of the first things I thought of as well.
  21. So there's now a statute of limitations and a prohibition on people posting their opinions? I'm just trying to stay up to speed on what's allowed in this thread so humor me.
  22. Are you serious? No, I never read anything... I always just talk out of my ass.
