  1. The permit will transfer with only fingerprinting and application fee being required. Your Kentucky permit remains valid until your Tennessee permit arrives.
  2. I won't own a 1911 without installing a mag-well. People who think they aren't useful additions have never used one.
  3. I made that move myself back in 1997. Haven't looked back since. Welcome!
  4. I pretty much asked for that didn't I?
  5. Pics?

    M&P45

The M&P sear is strange in that I really don't understand why there is so much variation in the feel from the factory between different batches. My M&P 40 has had, hands down, one of the best feeling triggers right out of the box. Crisp tactile reset with just the perfect amount of travel. My wife's M&P 9 breaks like a wet Popsicle stick and needs the DCAEK / RAM combination badly. My 45 had a good enough reset from the factory but was my guinea pig for the DCAEK and the resulting feel is superb. I've had several of the M&P compacts and both had good sear reset / trigger feel. One of them dropped mags like crazy but it was a 1st generation and they hadn't figured out yet that there were problems with some of the mag releases. S&W fixed that promptly and it was a great gun ever thereafter. I've not really handled too many post-2011 models of the M&P but I hear that those are by and large pretty darn good. I guess it took S&W a while to iron out the bugs.
  8. Amazon.com Prime. Ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. Approximately $42 shipped.

The trigger reset does not suck on the M&P, it is just different from what you are used to. The Apex DCAEK trigger kit fixes that for most folks who are coming over from the Glock world. My M&P 45 mid-size is probably my favorite plastic handgun right now, and definitely my favorite of the slew of M&Ps that I own. It has the DCAEK and is a joy to shoot and carry.
  10. After seeing one owned by a fellow TGO member, I picked up a Streamlight Protac 2L light to use as my EDC light. The strobe feature sold itself the first time he blinded me with it.
  11. This has run it's course. No further changes to the reputation system for a while. It may stay, it may go entirely. Time will determine that.
  12. M&P 9mm. Service size. It's almost identical in dimension to the Glock 19.
  13. No. Sometimes everyone at large needs a reminder that (a.) this place isn't run by popular vote and general ass-clownery will not be tolderated, and (b.) that ass-clownery will be dealt with even if the wheels turn a bit slowly for some folks preference. What you see as being a blanket generic chastisement I see as being the public reminder that some folks need and other folks want to see.
  14. Welcome back.
  15. We've been doing that around here for years. If you have to ask yourself if my comments about the system being abused pertained to how you used it... chances are they don't.
  16. If you have a filing cabinet's worth of paper, you're going to want a sheet-feed scanner regardless of what software you go with. I have a friend who owns a SMB and he still swears that the Neat Desk hardware/software suite is the best thing since bacon-scented body soap.
  17. I'd have to search, the same way you would. If it wasn't explained in detail, I am sure that I had assumed folks would use some common sense and maturity about it.
  18. Good points. An alternative ending might be you trying to post things in a meaningful manner rather than trying to stir the pot. The age old "be a part of the solution or a part of the problem" dilemma.
  19. The facility that the forum software provides to issue negative Reputation Points to members has been DISABLED. This feature was never intended to be used as a popularity contest or -- worse yet -- as a means of issuing tit for tat dings against a person for the sake of juvenile inability to get along. It was intended to be a way to reward people for posting good information and to give the members a way to "police themselves" by showing each other who the bad apples in the bushel were. Because some members just cannot seem to get away from grade-school bickering with each other and have insisted on abusing the ability to register negative reputation points, I have re-configured the feature so that only positive points can be issued. Honestly I am extremely disappointed. It's a sad day when a group of grown adults can't act their ages and as a result the entire community loses out on something that should have been a useful tool. You know who you are and you should be ashamed.
  20. The laws for traveling there are the same as if you were transporting your firearm to the range without a permit. Once you get there, it's the same as having it in your own home.
  21. Actually the form is accessible now. The fact that it wasn't before was unintentional, and I figure someone else might need it at some point. Go figure. Still giving things away even when people bitch about one of two elements that keeps the doors open so that they have a place to bitch to begin with.
