They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. --Benjamin Franklin

And on a somewhat related note... The Walking Dead returns to TV on October 14th. Woohoo!

A good point in this thread to remind folks of TGO's policies... Further, the Owner and Administration of this site take a zero tolerance policy regarding companies that attempt to engage in act of soliciting undercover. We consider soliciting undercover to be the act of manufacturers, vendors, dealers or firearms related businesses who register on the forum with the purpose of promoting and soliciting the products that they make and/or the services that they offer while pretending to be an average consumer. These acts will not be tolerated regardless if you are a Sponsor or not and all suspicious threads and/or posts will be deleted accordingly and the offending business will be blacklisted indefinitely. If you are interested in becoming a Sponsor and promoting your business on TNGunOwners.com, see the related FAQ Entry and contact us. It is very important that you contact us and become a Sponsor before posting any sort of advertising material. And... Guests understand that is the policy of TNGunOwners.com to NOT allow manufacturers, vendors, dealers, shops, firearms related businesses, competing websites or for-profit publications to participate in any way shape or form on TNGunOwners.com unless they are a sponsor. Guests also understand that TNGunOwners.com considers soliciting to include the contacting of members though private messages and/or though email as well as a user name, signature and/or user profile that contains a business name, phone number, email address, website URL or direct link back to it. Non-profit organizations are required to obtain permission from the administrators prior to participating on TNGunOwners.com. While a friend of the shop has inquired about them becoming a Vendor here, that does not constitute any sort of "clearance" for them to indulge in any sort of advertising. This thread is carefully teetering on the edge of things we would have already locked down in years past. Let's avoid the unpleasant business of requiring that the Staff members protect the investment of our many paid sponsors. That being said, I think this thread has eked enough free publicity for the shop. Closing it down for obvious reasons. Thanks, and hopefully we'll be able to add them on as a Vendor soon.

Not sure the second pass was any better than the first pass.

Man Who Carried AK-47 Pistol In Park Loses Appeal
TGO David replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Any of you who think he's doing this #### for the pro-gun crowd are completely missing the point. It's not about you, or us, or the 2nd Amendment. It's about money. It's about him trolling for a lawsuit so that he can make bank and stop working as a nurse. Whichever law enforcement officer or HCP holder finally smokes this clown is going to end up on the receiving end of a tremendous lawsuit either filed by him or his surviving family ... which is almost certainly the end-game he's hoping for. -
I agree. Use Google for your health & wellness forum needs.

I've been out of the area for the past week on business. I assume I have a PM waiting for me?

Lance Armstrong Banned for Life and Stripped of Titles
TGO David replied to analog_kidd's topic in General Chat
How does him being an ###hole (in your opinion) nullify the fact that the guy won SEVEN Tours de France? You don't have to like him, but the victories are irrefutable fact. -
As always, it's worth remembering that TGO is not a democracy and a majority vote isn't required when we decide to move on something that we feel is in the best interest of the site and it's membership overall. Mac posted more than I would have but don't let that mislead you into thinking that he was trying to justify it to you. It was simply an explanation of why the decision was made. Closing the thread.

It sound like it might be a problem with the AJAX used for the add-on that processes orders. I'm going to escalate this to IPB support and see what the software vendor says with us.

Get to posting then! You've been here since early 2011!

Welcome to the family. -
No offense meant, but after interviewing about 12 job candidates, most of whom were college graduates, that's really not saying a whole lot. Real world, functional experience speaking.

I will check into this.

Russian sub in Gulf of Mexico undetected for weeks
TGO David replied to zapfbroad's topic in General Chat
Agreed. To elaborate on my last comment, I suspect that if more people were as aware of what really goes on in those circles as some of us here are, these things wouldn't concern them as much. The media doesn't really do much to keep the populace informed... just entertained and inflamed. -

I don't think concern really qualifies as tin foil hattery. -
How did you feel the first time you carried?
TGO David replied to dieewigeteufel's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Nervous. I was young, though, and this was back in the mid 1990's when Kentucky first started issuing their CWP so the whole permit thing really wasn't as common as it is now. We could always carry open back then without a permit; the permit just allowed you to conceal it. Presently I think the notion of carry is "mainstream" enough (thanks largely to the Internet bringing like-minded people together) that it really shouldn't make a person feel as though they were doing something out of the ordinary. Sadly, it's the granola eaters out there who still control the media and continue to put forth the idea that you're doing something wrong if you are actively exercising your Second Amendment rights. -
Moving from KY to TN. Permit transfer?
TGO David replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The permit will transfer with only fingerprinting and application fee being required. Your Kentucky permit remains valid until your Tennessee permit arrives. -
I won't own a 1911 without installing a mag-well. People who think they aren't useful additions have never used one.

I made that move myself back in 1997. Haven't looked back since. Welcome!
