Just as the title says, I'm curious as to whether anyone here is running the Apex Tactical Specialities Forward Set Sear and Trigger [link] on their M&P series and if so what you think about it. I run the DCAEK on my M&P 45 and ordered the RAM for my M&P 9. The trigger on my M&P 40 was damn near perfection (almost Glock-like) out of the box so I've resisted the urge to monkey with it. I figure that one was truly an anomaly since so many M&Ps have spongy almost imperceptible reset. The RAM should make the reset on my M&P 9 very tactile and audible. But that FSS / Trigger kit promises an almost 1911-ish feel to the trigger and reset, which really lights my fire. I'd just like to her from folks who actually have one and who've used it. Thanks.

I'd forgotten about the Stockyard. Very good food.

Tremendous offer from Randy. A few years back another local training group, CIS, did a "deep concealment" class which centered primarily around using pocket guns, J-frame revolvers, that sort of thing. It seemed like a pretty popular class but I never got the chance to attend personally.

Welcome, John!

This was going to be my vote.

Good luck with your career in the USAF. That's a good move!

I'd have agreed with the idea that the M&P was a new and somewhat unproven platform about 5-7 years ago but this isn't the case any longer. It's proven itself to be very reliable and is fielded by plenty of law enforcement agencies and civilians alike. Further, one only has to consider the teething pains of the Gen 4 Glock to realize that just because a firearm has a pedigree, it doesn't mean that it is going to be more reliable than something new to the field. I'd stick with what works best for you. Sounds like you prefer the M&P.

I think everyone ought to own a gun... I just think some folks really need some remedial training in how to use one before they go shooting them around other people. -
There are Hampton, Courtyard and Marriott all nearby. I think the Vanderbilt Marriott is probably one of the nicer in the area.

What time Friday? I was there fairly early in the afternoon shooting with my wife and daughter. Never saw anyone doing anything unsafe. I did practice a few double-taps at the very end of my ammo supply but my shots all landed within 2" of each other, center of mass, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the grand master you're speaking of. -
So I guess I should offer up an explanation as to why I don't delete accounts. It's probably been posted somewhere else here in the past but, what the heck... Basically it leaves "holes" in our forum when I do that. Posts suddenly become attributed to Guest or Guest_yourusername which kind of screws up the search-ability of posts and so forth. It's a decision somewhat made on the basis of aesthetics, functionality and practicality. What you really need to know is that we don't keep any personal information about you other than what you provided when you signed up. Your email address is pretty much it. Beyond that we keep a small history of the IP addresses you visited from, and whatever you posted on the forum publicly. If you clear out your private messages, eventually those too go away as we age out our database backups. So I'm not sure exactly what deleting a user account would do for a person's privacy, especially when you consider that any post you've made publicly has long since been indexed by Bing, Google, Yahoo and whatever alphabet-soup agencies care to index things like that. If you're worried about being off the grid, per se, that horse ran off the farm the first time you started using the Internet. Anyway, so there it is. Hope it makes sense, but I also hope it doesn't make you panic.

This is a very common sight in Murfreesboro for some reason. I would assume that the city has some sort of panhandling ordnance, but if they do, they don't enforce it from what I've seen.

You cannot delete your account. I'm curious as to why you wish to do that?

Welcome to TGO. My grandfather taught me to shoot as well. Those are some of the best memories I have of shooting things.

Three opinions that I have: 1. The video makes me want another 1911 for my collection even more for some reason. 2. Glocks generally do work reliably. Many people discovered this before James did. 3. When I feel the need to carry 45ACP I generally reach for my M&P 45 4-inch. Best damn plastic 45 I've ever owned.

There are no specific laws regarding carrying without a holster, although I seriously wouldn't recommend it just for safety's sake.

Life Lessons Learned These Past Few Days... 1. No matter how bad things are at the moment, they could always be worse. Be thankful. If you can't see anything to be thankful for, be thankful for the fact that you haven't been shown how much worse it really could get. 2. Material things are temporary. Don't let them dominate your life. Don't let them dictate how you spend your time by forcing you to work more than you rest, just to keep those material things around. It's not worth it. 3. Families aren't perfect, but they are still family. Don't let arguments go unresolved. Don't let hateful things said go without being retracted. Say you're sorry. Tell them you love them. One day you won't be able to. 4. True friends will make themselves known. If you ever wonder who your friends really are, look around when all hell is breaking loose in your life. If they're still there with you, they're a true friend. If they aren't, they're an acquaintance and shouldn't distract you from finding true friends. When you find one, treat them like family. See above. 5. Live every day like it's your last. One of these days, you'll be right.

Autosave will keep you from losing what you're trying to type and post if you happen to have a browser crash or fat-finger something and go back a screen while you're typing. If you come back to a reply box and start to post again, you will notice an option to restore auto-saved content.

Yep, the Raptor has almost the exact same track width as the H1. It's part of what makes these trucks so much fun to try and park. Yours is looking great, Steve! I wasn't sure how I'd like the rear-exit on the exhaust system but it really looks good. Probably keeps the tips a lot cleaner than the Magnaflow kit on mine as it catches damn near everything the rear tire throws at it.

Thanks, all. Prayers are about the only thing keeping us going up here while we take care of my dad's affairs. It's just a bad mess all the way around.

Our tastes, mine and yours, are very similar. I've found that as long I as stay closer to dark beers (porters, stouts, black ales) or at the very least amber beers (amber ales, grolsch, dark reds) I stand a good chance of at least finding tolerable the new things that I try. I've tried hundreds of different craft beers as we've traveled across the country and I always look for a dark beer on the list even if I decide to be adventurous and try something else, just to have a backup plan. Locally you should try Yazoo's Onward Stout, Yazoo Sly Rye Porter and... in their tap-room only, their Nitro Stout. All of these are excellent darker beers and you can sample all of them right in their tap-room should you decide to visit. Blackstone's Nut Brown Ale and St. Charles Porter are both very good as well. Lastly I forgot to mention my favorite tool for trying and tracking new beers: Beer Buddy [iTunes] [Home Page]
