More high-res pics. In photos, this thing looks good and looks like a veritable clone of the Staccato C2. It's been a long while since I was legitimately excited about a new gun, but this could light my fire if it's done well. Don't F this up, Springfield.

I've got a Staccato C2 DPO (optics ready) and carry it often. If this 1911DS from Springfield doesn't suck, I can see myself buying one so as to have a less expensive option for carry purposes. The problem with Springfield is that you can buy two of the same gun from them and one will be perfect and trouble-free, and the other might be a complete trainwreck. I'm going to be interested in seeing how this one shakes out.

How to ship a firearm for service?

My thoughts as well. -
Those vests don't look right unless you've got a bloody duck, quail or pheasant hanging out of a pocket and a Labrador Retriever at your side.

When I am volunteering on my church safety team, I wear an untucked camp style shirt and leave the bottom button undone. It allows for quicker and easier draw without getting hung up on the shirt. Depending on the make of the shirt, sometimes I have to buy a +1 size in order to get it loose enough to move freely around the gun. Some shirts just don't pass muster because they end up looking too big, so experimentation is necessary. I've had good luck with Columbia and Magellan camp/fishing shirts.

I loved my Shadow Systems MR920 but I love my Agency Syndicate slide with the Agency Optics System (AOS) mounting plates even better. It's pretty similar to the CZ Customs configuration that @deerslayer mentioned, above, and opens the door for compatibility to a variety of optics. I've got a Holosun HE509T-X2 green dot on mine and it's nice. If I were a smarter man, I'd probably buy a Gen 3 compatible AOS slide and an MR920 frame and put the two together. That would probably be the end-all be-all. As is, I'm making do with an actual Glock Gen 5 G19 frame, like some sort of peasant.

Austism & firearms ownership in TN?
TGO David replied to TresMon's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Glock vs. 1911 arguments, also. -
First let me say that I think the majority of concealment woes come from using a weak belt, wrong holster design or sub-optimal holster positioning. It can be any one of those, or any combination of them. That out of the way, I have found that Life is Good t-shirts tend to generally be made of heavier weight fabric and more generously cut. They also don't scream "tactical" to the observer and their happy, go-lucky branding is entirely unassuming. Carhartt t-shirts are about the same.

God help us if they ever start using caliber debates on forums for any sort of litmus test. -

I'm not a lawyer but I'd guess that this means that they have been adjudicated by a court as being such. I know we have some attorneys on TGO, so hopefully one will chime in and offer their opinion. -
This thread is weird.

DAMMM !! Another AD Today RK Clarksville Show
TGO David replied to Will's topic in Events and Gatherings
There was a time when kids grew up with a knowledge of firearms and how to safely handle them. Once society started demonizing guns, that knowledge fell out of the mainstream and... well... here we are. I'd like to keep governments of any and all kinds out of the business of educating people about guns. That means it's on us to do the educating. -

There has also been an incredible influx of people who are new to firearms, thanks to deteriorating social conditions. -
Discharge At Columbia TN Gun Show-Not Accidental
TGO David replied to Will's topic in Events and Gatherings
I bet I haven't been to a gun show in nearly 15 years. I assume that there are some good ones, maybe even great ones in other parts of the country, but all of the ones I've been to were rather... cringey. -

HELP ME UNDERSTAND.....PLEASE
TGO David replied to JohnSutton1980's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've posted my thoughts numerous times on TGO about red dot optics on handguns. I am not an early adopter but I have been on this journey now for about six years and easily have 25-30,000 rounds downrange in classes and leisure shooting with optics on maybe 8-10 different handgun platforms. Suffice it to say that I'm not new at this. IMO, optics on handguns are not the future. They are the present. They are here and now and are already mainstream among serious practitioners of the gun. The advantages far outweigh any disadvantages that still remain despite the rapidly evolving technologies in use. They provide increased speed of target acquisition, improved target and periphery awareness, improved target tracking and allow higher degrees of accuracy than iron sights do. Since the dawn of man when the first person picked up a rock or a stick and hurled it at an animal they were hunting or an adversary they were fighting, we used a single plane for sighting and aligning for the throw. We looked at the target. Rocks and spears don't come with a front sight and a rear sight. We looked at the thing we wanted to hit, we tracked its movement if there was any, and our brains and bodies did the rest through prioperception. Red dots allow us to do the same thing. We don't have to process three planes of a sight picture to use them. We don't use the complicated equation of rear sight (first plane), front sight (second plane) and target (third plane) for our eyes, brains and bodies to coordinate between. We look at the target, we see the dot, we pull the trigger. If you're still stuck in an iron sights world, my condolences. If you've tried a red dot and it "didn't work for you"... you might need a competent trainer to help you unlearn your old ways and learn the better way. It's not the optic, it's you. And the only thing wrong with that is not accepting that fact and working past it. The dot is the way. -

Since you have a Glock, buy an Agency Arms Syndicate slide with the AOS optic mounting system so that you aren't married to a single optic or style of optic. It's like the Glock MOS system, but... reliable. -
I've been watching for availability on these also. I'll probably just do the 2MOA Red version unless the green comes in stock at the same time.

This is an interesting twist of events. I don't see myself rushing toward this model since my Spectre Comp isn't even a year old yet and fits the exact need I had for it (smaller, controllable, accurate) in comparison to my other carry options. Maybe Wilson Combat will offer a "Macro" grip model and I can dip my toes into these waters without committing to yet another Sig.

IMO, it's hard for me to beat the Spyderco Manix 2 in M390 steel. I have a slew of knives from Benchmade, Spyderco, two Hinderers, one Chris Reeve and the Manix 2 in M390 gets more carry time than any of them. -
