  1. So I listened, I watched and I read.  I'm still not crazy about the pop-culture slant they went with but all in all it was a good reply.  Good enough that I have upgraded to Life Member.
  2. So here's my take on this...   Something is only over-priced if it is above fair market value.  Right now the market will sustain quite a bit of markup over what it did last week.  If you're really wanting to part with some items that are in high demand right now, you would be silly not to ask the current going rate for them.   It doesn't matter if you are asking a fair price now or three weeks ago, someone out there is going to bitch because they want the best deal possible and feel like you somehow owe it to them to give them that deal.  Don't worry about that.   I would caution you against selling something today that you might not be able to replace again later, though.  Unless you're hurting for cash, I'd sit on those items and see what happens.  It could come to pass that you would end up really, really regretting it later.
  3. Same thing as always... M&P 9mm with spare 17rd mag and my XD-S in my weak-side hip pocket and a spare mag for it in a thigh pocket.
  4. Frequently Asked Question: How do I post pictures on this forum? Posting pictures into threads on the TGO forum is easier than you might expect, however we do not currently allow our members to upload pictures directly to threads or posts. The first thing that you will need to do is upload your photos to a server on the Internet. Many Internet Service Providers give each customer their own private web space to host pictures and such, so you might want to go that route. Another option that we know works very well here is to set up a free account with Photobucket [link] and begin uploading your photos there. They have mountains of storage space available and their servers are uniquely configured to handle that sort of traffic, whereas ours really cannot. Once you upload your photos to a service like Photobucket, you need to find the URL of the photo that you want to insert into your post. Photobucket makes this easy and actually includes quick links to share a photo to a web site, post it in a forum, etc. by providing you with codes to copy and paste into a message here on TNJeeps. Or you can find a photo that you want to share, right click on it inside your web browser and choose the option for "Copy Image Location" (Firefox, and similar browsers) from the resulting menu that pops up. An example follows. Once you have the URL copied into your computer's clip board, you can simply come back to the TGO message editor when posting a reply or a new thread, and click on the Image button in the toolbar as shown below. This will open up a new dialogue box where you will copy and paste the URL of the photo that you want to share. Like this... Once you have done this, your photo will show up in the message you are posting provided you copied the URL correctly. :) One important thing to note is that the TGO forum software expects your image URL to end in an appropriate picture file format such as .JPG or .GIF. Some photo hosting services such as Facebook use a URL structure that does not make sense to our forum software, therefore those images won't display properly. This is why we recommend Photobucket in particular, as their service has proven to be extremely reliable and easy to use. We hope that this FAQ entry helps!
  5. I'm failing to see the problem here. It sounds like sour grapes.
  6. I haven't heard the recording or seen the transcript yet but I suspect I'm going to be less than blown away by the veracity with which the NRA is going to defend our rights no matter what was said today. And blaming video games and pop culture... Really? No shit that's the best they could come up with? We don't need more scapegoating or buck-passing. Why not just lay the blame where it belonged and state the fact that this was a f#ed up individual who was intent on hurting people no matter what tool was available? Call him mentally ill, which is what he was. Demand that society start addressing THAT problem rather than foist it off on pop entertainment. I swear... What the hell?!
  7. Folks...   Our policies about the TGO Trading Post bear repeating.  Pay attention, especially if you are new here!     TGO's trading post is largely recognized as one of the BEST ways for individuals to buy, sell and trade firearms and accessories via private party transactions. Our trading post generates perhaps more traffic than the rest of the site and has proven itself to be a tremendous bargain for the seller and a great resource for the buyer. We are extremely proud of that and continually look for ways to improve the experience for everyone involved. To that end, the Staff and I have decided to implement the following updates to the Trading Post policies. Fraud Zero Tolerance Policy: Updated November 4, 2011 Effective immediately, anyone who fails to complete an agreed-upon transaction within seven (7) business days will be subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to loss of access to the Trading Post and a temporary or permanent ban from the TGO community. Further, the TGO Staff will cooperate with any civil or legal action taken against any party who defrauds another. The only exception to the seven (7) business day guideline will be if both parties agree, in written form via public response to a Trading Post thread, that an extension of the deadline is acceptable. Do not post an item for sale or trade until you are committed to parting with it. Do not agree to buy or trade for something until you are committed to doing so and have all of the resources (money, items, etc.) necessary to complete the deal. While there are legitimate exceptions to completing a transaction, it will be at the sole discretion of the TGO Staff as to whether the reason was valid when a transaction is aborted. Sale Interference Zero Tolerance Policy: Updated November 4, 2011 Effective immediately, anyone who makes a public reply to a Trading Post thread that is designed to interfere with the sale will lose their right to participate in the Trading Post and may receive a temporary or permanent ban from the TGO community. Examples are replies stating that an item can be found cheaper elsewhere, that a price is too high, that you have a similar item for sale for less, etc. If you wish to haggle, do it privately with the seller. No one cares what you think about the price or availability of an item. Keep those remarks to yourself or forfeit your right to participate. In closing I want to make several observations... First, any online sales venue where private parties exchange goods -- be it TGO's Trading Post, Craigslist, eBay, etc. -- works solely on the element of trust in your fellow man. Money exchanges hands, sometimes preemptively, because we feel that we can trust the individual on the other side of the computer screen. I am grateful that TGO has had an excellent record in that regard. However when that trust is violated, there must be consequences and I am committed to ensuring that the consequences (a.) protect future buyers/sellers and (b.) are painful for the person who violated that trust. As a buyer or a seller, your word is only as good as your last transaction. Keep that in mind and always strive to protect your reputation by carrying through on every transaction in a timely manner. Second, and in conjunction with the above, I want to encourage everyone to use GOOD COMMUNICATION at all points of a transaction. Describe items for sale as accurately as possible. Do not over-sell the quality of an item if it has blemishes. Be honest and forthright. Also make sure that you stay in communication with the other party in a transaction. If there will be delays, communicate that to the other party publicly per the rules listed above. In this age of e-mail, cellular phones and Internet forums, there simply are very few valid excuses for not being able to communicate delays to the other person and therefore we will be extremely hard to persuade that you couldn't. As always if you have questions or concerns, feel free to PM me or another Staff member privately to discuss. Thanks! --David

  8. http://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/sandy-hook-mind-control-flicker-effect/   Very good read.
  9. When I built my SBR I went into it assuming I never would want to sell it later.  I still can't imagine wanting to.  If you're thinking you might want to get rid of it later, it's probably not the right thing for you to invest in.
  10.   Sell something now for a few dollars that you might never be able to replace.   That makes sense?
  11. Lately I've had a lot of people who have only recently started caring about firearms ask me about the first ban.  My answer to them is what it will be to you...   It was pretty bad but it's nothing to base your predictions on about what's coming down the pipe.  This is going to be much worse.
  12. To be clear, I'm not going to renew until I hear what the NRA has to say at Friday's press conference.  If they stand with us as gun owners and fight against another so-called Assault Weapons Ban then I will sign up as a life member.  If they roll over, I'm done with them as an organization.   But I'll ping you for that # just in case.  Thanks.  :)
  13. Really don't know what to tell you guys other than this is not a server-side issue. All of my devices (iPad, iPhone, MacBook, home PC, work PC) connect with no problems and remember my login just fine. It ain't the server or the software. It's a client-side problem and there's no practical way for me to troubleshoot that. Sorry.
  14.   Agreed.  A very similar design with comparable construction is from White Dog Holsters.  I ordered from them recently when I couldn't get a RCS holster quickly enough.
  15. I'd try clearing your browser cache including cookies and see if that makes any difference.
  16. Unlocking the thread.  Not sure why that was deemed necessary; following up with the moderator.
  17.   Account suspended for 7 days.  We highly suggest you read the Code of Conduct while you are on vacation from the site.  Name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated.  If you cannot abide by these rules, do not come back.
  18. Anyone here have a current code for the $300 lifetime membership offer?
  19. sventvkg has been suspended from TGO for the next 30 days.  I highly suggest that he reads our Code of Conduct during his vacation from the forum and learns to debate issues rather than attacking people.  Name calling and insults will not be tolerated on TGO.
  20. Not really.  Topic Moderation and Prefixes are two totally different add-ons to the software.  They work together just fine, but you have to access each feature from it's respective location.
  21. Last night seemed to be better.
  22. That's Triune, not College Grove.
  23. Welcome to the group!
  24. Not sure but I will check into it.  First glance at the settings a few moments ago looked like everything should work provided the member's account is listed as a Benefactor.
  25. First, this thread does not belong in the Classifieds section.   Second, the proper course of action would have been to ask a moderator to check into it or make an announcement.  Please leave these tasks to the Staff.   Thanks.
