1. I've submitted a feature request to the author of the iTrader feedback system asking for the following:   --- Ability for members to edit feedback that they have left for other members.   --- Ability for moderators to edit any feedback rather than only being able to delete.       Will keep you all posted.
2. Honestly, if people would spend as much time bombarding their representatives email boxes and phone lines as they do copying and pasting silly stuff on gun forums, we'd be in pretty good shape right now.  :)   And I run a gun forum!  If I'm telling you to spend less or equal time doing something else, that's got to say something!
3.   You know what?  I'm tired of hearing this claim being made by people like you.  I know you mean well and you're full of piss, vinegar and angst about this and probably believe you really will hole up in your house and make your last stand when "they come for your guns" but even you don't really know if you will carry through with that or lay down that rifle when you and your family are staring down the barrels of ten or twelve other rifles being carried by heavily trained, highly proficient FBI SRT operators.   What you need to keep in mind is the "fight" and the fact that it means different things for different people.   Some of your fellow gun owners have defined the fight to exist within the political space.  They are going to exhaust every single option they can to wage the battle FOR the 2nd Amendment politically.  If they lose this battle, the fight is over for them.  They won't be happy, but they will have hit the limit of their fight and that will be it.   Other of your fellow gun owners may seriously carry through with the "Come and take them!" challenge and trade shots with a superior force.  That is the boundary of the "fight" for them and they will go as far as they have committed to go... which will be a quick and violent end for them.   Both of these people have defined what their fight is and both of them will have waged it according to the parameters they were comfortable with.  It doesn't mean that the guy who chose to fight politically is any less serious about his convictions than you are, it just means that his weapons were the ballot box, phone calls, emails, letters and visits with his representatives rather than a stockpile of ammo and MREs.   If you want to go out in a blaze of glory, that's your business.   Until then, you share a mutual fight with the other guy who you're philosophically looking down your nose at.  You and he both share the political fight.  Let's do what we can to avoid you ever having to trade shots with those people coming for your guns, by fighting the current battle.   If that fails, well... good luck.
4. Folks... I am urging you... begging you... to do two things with your wallet right now. 1.) Join or renew with the NRA if you haven't already. 2.) Buy Ben Shapiro's book Bullies and read it. It discusses at length how the Left (and Obama particularly) used this network of "street thugs" to get out there and make a lot of noise, sway opinion, and get him elected. http://www.amazon.com/Bullies-Culture-Intimidation-Silences-Americans/dp/1476709998/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358449174&sr=8-1&keywords=shapiro+bullies Know your enemy!
5. Fuck Mexico.
6.   You are correct.  Some folks have taken regular milspec or comspec buffer tubes and welded over the 6-position holes, but the way the law reads that's an iffy proposition.  The law states that you cannot use a buffer tube capable of accepting a shoulder stock.  The definition of ability to accept a stock is not up to you so I'd be very careful.

8. There's already a thread on this.   A recent one also.   No, you do not have permission to have one made.  Our logo is trademarked property, registered even.
9. lol... you guys saying this article is just "feel good propaganda" need to consider the White House press office document that I posted in the other thread and how it lines up with this story.  That document had an embargo on it preventing it from being distributed until the President started his speech this morning.  It was not to be distributed until he began his talking points.   Clearly what he said and what the document outlines are shades apart from each other.  The document outlines what he wants; what he said was a watered down version.   Don't assume the Administration won't be trying to push ahead.  The speech today was simple slight of hand.  A diversionary tactic meant to get us to let our guard down.  You saw evidence of it on TGO initially when people were saying, "Oh well - that wasn't so bad.  He didn't say anything that we already didn't know about."   Like I said earlier; if you think the 21 or 23 points are what he had in mind, dream on.  There's more.  That was the tip of the iceberg and his handlers knew better than to let their man show his hand while they're facing strong opposition from our side.  They're hoping we forget and become complacent again once the guns and ammo start showing back up in the stores, and then they'll let loose with a surprise left hook while we're not watching.   Be smarter than that, folks.  Remain vigilant.
10.   That's exactly the thing.  This list represents the current Administration's effort to throw it all at the wall (Congress) and see what sticks.  This is their wish list.  They know some of it won't go through, and they will use those bits as bargaining pieces to get the more important things passed.   The goal for us should be to put so much pressure on our representatives that none of it sticks.  None of it passes.  So much pressure that in four years, Obama and his cronies will have to pack up their toys and GTF home all sad and dejected.   A lot of folks here love their Gadsden flags.  They love the story of the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae.  They love the challenge to "Come and Take" (Molon Labe).  Well, this is your MOLON LABE moment, people.  Now's when you start cranking up the pressure and let it be known that you don't want the people who work for you in Washington to give a single inch on this stuff.
11. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/blog/258/entry-91-web-server-woes-jan-16-2013-edition/   Click away and read about why daddy drinks when the server cries.   :drunk:
12.   This is absolutely what he is proposing and what he wants Congress to pick up and run with.  The news conference today touched briefly on elements of this document but glazed over a lot of other things that gun owners obviously will find inflammatory.  He and his handlers knew that it would not be good press to go out there, surround himself with the children and then lay out precisely what measures he intended to see enacted.   The frustrating thing I'm seeing here in this thread are responses from people acting like this is no big revelation and just more layers of the onion being peeled away.  It absolutely is a big revelation because the Administration just laid out 22 pages worth of precisely what they want to see happen.  This is the blueprint.  This is the answer to all of the questions we've seen posted on TGO and elsewhere lately asking "Will they try to ___________ ?".  There's no more guessing about what they want done.  It's right there in black and white and the next step will be seeing how many parts of it they can sail through Congress.
13.   I'm not ready to make any comments based on speculation.  We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
14.   Well, alright.  There's always whatever re-runs of The Simpsons is on to watch instead.  Nothing to see here.
15. Are you guys reading the document or just posting silly pictures?  Because you need to READ the document.  It completely outlines their plans to...   Require private sale of firearms run through an FFL. Reinstate a tougher Assault Weapons Ban. Mandate a 10-round magazine limit. Create new "Gun Trafficking" laws that enlarge scope of violation and increase punishment for violators. Limit what types of ammo can be sold.   For all of the concern and panic people here have been exhibiting over what might happen, this is the one document that comprehensively lays it out and it's straight from the White House press office.  You'd think people would be reading the damn thing.
16. There are a lot more worrisome things in that document than the survey of inmates.  It outlines exactly what they have in plan for us.  Today's press conference was a diversionary tactic.

19. So you thought the list of Executive Orders that you got from Fox News or CNN was all there was to it, eh?   You wish.   http://www.scribd.com/doc/120650415/White-House-list-of-executive-orders-on-gun-violence     Attaching a copy of the PDF to this post also.
20. Adams keeps a list on their site.  It's not exhaustive but it's fairly good.   http://www.adamsarms.net/content.asp?content=3#qa1
21.   Sure they can.  They can make private firearm sales illegal and then simply wait for you to get caught.  People do illegal shit all the time now and the government is none the wiser because they don't get caught.  But once you get caught, you face the consequences.   Don't fool yourself and think that they wouldn't conduct stings to make sure that folks are playing by the new rules.  They do it all the time with narcotics busts.  Hell, the BATF has recently made the local news when they busted the doofus in Chattanooga who was SO stupid and SO brazen that he literally went out of his way to cross every successive line in the sand that the agents gave for him.  He had a dozen opportunities to take an exit and likely avoid anything more serious than a slap on the wrist, and finally made it bad enough that they absolutely had to arrest him.   People aren't the brightest of animals sometimes, and criminals are typically just flat stupid.  Especially petty criminals.   If they make it such that private sales are verboten, it won't take long for a bunch of bubbas to prove me right and give the government a chance to make examples of some folks.  All it will take is a few front page stories about someone getting sent away for a 10 year stint for everyone else to get the idea that they aren't playing around.   So, yeah... it's absolutely a do-able scenario.  Our job is to prevent that kind of legislation from ever passing.
22.   This makes me wonder what's coming down the pipe as there's really no reason to remind FFLs on how to run background checks.  The key words here being "for private sellers".
11. Nominate an ATF director.
No good can come that.  He's not going to nominate someone who agrees with the rest of us
