1. Why not post the facts substantiating your opinion that TICS is unconstitutional rather than just claiming it is?   If you're right, you're right.
2.   It looks like the letter "R" to me.  Just badly drawn.
3.   Good counter point and definitely thought provoking.  However I maintain that the unfortunate fact is that the opposition will use, at every opportunity, a picture of a person carrying a firearm at a rally like this to divert the public's attention away from the substance of the issue and toward the sensational, "scary" gun.  The media is intent on painting a picture of firearms owners and carry permit holders as armed radicals who aren't like the rest of society.    Frankly I'm surprised that the only picture the Tennessean could get at this rally was of a normal looking guy legally carrying a common-place, mainstream Glock rather than a guy dressed in camo with an AK-47 slung over his shoulder.  I guess they (The Tennessean) had to make do with what presented itself.  Or maybe they planted the guy.  Hell, I wouldn't put that past the media either to be honest.         My opinion is that the only way we are going to alter perceptions is to do it individually with people we already know where a civil conversation can be had and eyes can be opened in a non-threatening manner.  You and I spot a guy open carrying and we might not think too much of it.  Or we might cautiously keep half an eye on the guy while he's in our immediate vicinity just because we've conditioned ourselves to be vigilant.   But Suzie Homemaker with her 2.5 kids standing in line at McDonalds is going to see that guy who is open carrying in a different light.  She's probably going to be scared by the inanimate object on his hip, pull her kids in a little closer, or -- if she's a belligerent type -- make a fuss about it.  That firearm on the guy's hip likely won't persuade her of anything but will somehow, illogically, reaffirm her believe that guns are scary and people who carry guns are scary, and that he, you and I shouldn't be allowed to carry them around her and her 2.5 kids.   Then she'll run home, blog about it, Facebook about it, and post a dozen angry things on The Tennessean's comment sections about it because she didn't like it.  Think I'm blowing this out of proportion?  Have you read comments in those places?  It's enough to make you wonder how some people rationalize themselves out of bed in the morning.   Anyway, my firearm is not a political statement.  It's there for my protection and I prefer to keep it that way.  I've got a box of crayons and some poster board if I want to make a political statement at a rally.
4.   One of those things is not like the other.  Better go tackle her and find out who she really works for.   (please don't)
5.       Might want to look outside and make sure there's not a government ninja working atop your utility pole.  :stare:
6.   The "left wing hippy commies" you're talking about fighting against won't be doing the fighting.  When it comes to that, they'll be sending in the troops to put down the rebellion.
7. And in other news, morons are still helping us LOSE the Public Relations War... 0
8. Reformatted it.  Kinda wish people would do that on their own, but whatever... back to the subject at hand.   Our forefathers didn't just up and decide one day that they were going to pick up their rifles and start firing.  They exhausted every other option first, realizing that once they crossed that line there was no going back.   Currently I do not believe we have exhausted every other option.  The battle can still be fought and won in the political space without anyone having to shed blood or give up their life to preserve the Second Amendment and keep the government in check.  Do I think that it will always be this way?  Sadly, no.  History has taught us that governments and societies can only last so long before something causes them to fall apart.  Our Republic has done pretty good for itself over time, but the past 60 years have indeed shown that the twin cancers of Big Government and Entitlement Society are spreading.  In the past 20 years that spread has been largely un-checked, un-restrained, and outpaces the ability of conservatives or constitutionalists to stave it off.   Eventually there will likely come a day when the people who value what our ancestors fought and died for will answer the challenge of those in elected office of "...OR ELSE WHAT?" with another shot heard around the world.   God help us when that happens.  God help us avoid it as long as we can by winning the fight on the battlefield of politics.
9. A few carriage returns in that first post would make it infinitely more readable.
10. Short answer:  No   If you wear one of the paper crowns from Burger King, am I supposed to assume you're royalty?  People are just dumb.  When dumb people ask dumb questions, and you tell them the honest truth, that's not impersonation.  Impersonation would be accepting the military discount or telling them you were a SEAL in 'Nam.
11.   They pretty well screwed you on this.  Wow.
12. I tried some Guiness Black Lager on a whim tonight.  Thin, no mouth feel, watery, no after taste.  A dark beer should have body to it.  Regular Guiness is a bit too thin and watery for me as well, so I guess I shouldn't have been shocked that their Black Lager would be disappointing as well.   Just thought I'd pass that along.  Skip it and save your money.
13. You just need to let me have that and I'll worry with the conversion.  It sounds stressful, and I don't want you to have to go through that.
14. I had this crazy idea that folks there were enough folks who cared about firearms and the Second Amendment in Tennessee that a forum might actually get off the ground.  Who knew!  :D
15.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qomGpsUyDrw     In my opinion you will never get them to listen en masse. When you get a bunch of leftists together they create a "reality distortion bubble" and support each other's nitwittery like a bunch of seagulls squawking.  When that happens, their co-supportive squawking absolutely drowns out any common sense ideas you might be putting forth.   The only way you can open their eyes is to engage them privately, one on one, and lead them to the conclusion that they need to make.  As long as it's their idea and they experience an orgasmic epiphany, you stand a reasonable chance of success.  If you try to bludgeon them with the truth, you close their ears and support the prejudice they already harbor against you as a damned conservative.    This is why so many leftists suddenly see the need for firearms ownership after they've been beaten almost to death in an alley-way robbery, or left sobbing in a heap after a vicious rape.  Suddenly they understand that it's not about the gun, it's about never being made a victim again.
16.   Yeah, that wouldn't end well.
17.   Love the avatar, BTW.  Got one of those in our house.
18. Got more coming.  Put my order in a few minutes ago.
19. Wow... well... those went fast.  7 left as of this writing.  Seven.  Three less than ten.  Not a typo.  :stare:   Ordering more tomorrow!
20.   Got something in my eyes right about there.
21.   You don't wanna look at that on your wall.  *I* don't wanna look at that on a wall.  :)
22. People like me don't get elected because people in power don't want to put up with it.  Sad but true.
23. Thanks!  I knew I had a few of these left but when we stumbled across a stack of them rubber-banded together I knew I better get them posted up.   We'll be putting in another order for maybe 1,000 of them here this week.  I'd like to not run out again anytime soon.
24. Terribly sorry for your loss.  :(
25. You asked for them and we stumbled across a stash of 100 decals in a drawer here at TGO HQ. We're going to be ordering more, but for the moment if you want one you should hustle on over to the TGO Store and buy one or two or ten. We suspect that the initial stock of these won't last very long. :)
