  1. It's really up to law enforcement agencies to put good officers in as SROs and stop using school assignments as a cushy place for pansies to coast along, or past their prime thoroughbreds to ride out a few final years before retirement. Agencies need to treat schools as the gathering place of America's most valuable assets. If your local agency is putting Barney Fife, Joey Bag o' Donuts, or Buford T Justice in your schools, it's time to demand better.
  2. McNally is doing anything he can to pander to anyone who will save his job from his own nauseating proclivities. A sad old man who undoubtedly struggles to get a meager rise in his shorts from staring at scantily clad younger LGBTQ+ men on Instagram. He's a pitiful old pervert signing on to something that he hopes will keep him employed. Sadly, I have begun to agree.
  3. Free plug, here; We've got several guys on our safety team at church who carry these and they love them. From what I have witnessed during training and qualification sessions, the Hellcat OSP runs reliably and seems to handle like a bigger gun in a small package.
  4. Aquil is good people. You won't go wrong with either him or Randy.
  5. Yes, it's definitely worth supporting them.
  6. Y'all are WAYYYYYY smarter than the Google.
  7. Well I answered my own question with some Googling. If you are a new customer, use code "First10" when you sign up for a membership and it will save you 10% for your first year.
  8. I am looking to add a CCWSafe membership to my lineup. Do any of you know of current valid discount codes for new members?
  9. See below... I think we're so fixated upon the current state and result of things that we neglect to really follow the trail back to where it began. As a result, we keep swinging at the symptoms by creating more laws in an attempt to stop activities that are already illegal. So, let's look at how we got to where we are. I know that discussion of the disintegration of the family unit and abandonment of Christian values as our national moral compass are things that some of us simply won't agree upon. Fine. I think they both have a role here, but we'll skip over them and go instead to the idea that the government should do something. Prior to the 1950s, our country had state government funded mental hospitals. As with any other medical treatment, it is easy to look back at the methods and protocols used in that era and accuse that they were crude, primitive, and sometimes cruel. It is easy to say that from the vantage point of modern medicine, but the same can be said about literally any aspect of medicine when you compare what we have today to what they had then. Choosing not to argue about the fact that what they had then was the best of their era, they still had a government funded approach to mental health which kept dangerous people off of the streets. But then, in the 1960s, laws were changed to limit the ability of state and local officials to admit people into mental health hospitals. This lead to budget cuts in both state and federal funding for mental health programs and, as a result, states across the country began closing and downsizing their psychiatric hospitals. Since the 1950s, the number of beds in state psychiatric hospitals has declined by over 91 percent. As a result of this phenomenon, many state psychiatric hospitals that had once served thousands of patients every day are now either shuttered or, at best, so much smaller that they have to turn away more patients than they serve. Now, we can argue whether gender dysphoria is a mental illness or not, but prior to 2012 it was considered as such. As our society has become more progressive, the classification changed. [source] Maybe a mistake was made. Several of the past mass killer events seem to suggest a correlation, at least. You know what? I'd vote 100% in favor of more government funding for mental health treatment, every damn day of the week, if we could get rid of some of the utter bull#### that our government funds today.
  10. If you had the means to buy six or seven cars, would anyone really care about that? Or pocket knives? Or baseball bats? All of those are things that you could kill a person with. None would likely raise an eyebrow with most folks. The media focuses on the guns because the politicians told them to, and the people who own the politicians told them to focus on guns. It's all about systematically disarming the people so that the people are powerless. And most people won't believe that even though the justification for it is all over the global news every week, playing out in real-time for them.
  11. This should require a consensus from several doctors, in my opinion. Perhaps confirmation from at least two of three. We are talking about taking away a person's rights without trial.
  12. I'm currently telling myself that I don't need two of these.
  13. Guys, on the topic of carrying something more than a concealed handgun as part of your church security/safety team kit, please consult with your team's leader first. And then consult with a legitimate training organization on the practicality of it and, if you decide to go forward, get legitimate training from a reputable trainer on how to employ a carbine-caliber weapon in CQB - especially CQB with crowds of people. I don't want to be hateful but this is serious business and I'm afraid that this could devolve into some serious Mall Ninja bull#### if not done properly. Running a carbine in CQB is a unique skillset and it brings along with it a whole new level of ballistics considerations. You have to train accordingly.
  14. US Law Shield does. CCWSafe does but only for their top tier package. I have US Law Shield right now but have been considering a move to CCWSafe based on recommendations of other folks that I trust.
  15. It's possible to build or buy one that will fold down and fit into a tactical backpack (Vertx, Eberlestock, Tactical Tailor, etc.) but you're going to have to keep it on you at all times otherwise it becomes a secondary weapon and one that you'll have use precious time to retrieve from lock-down.
  16. This news posting has the full body-cam footage from the entry team. DAMN. BODY CAM VIDEO: Moment Nashville Police encounter elementary school mass shooter | WZTV (fox17.com) Officer Englebert did WORK on this day. Out ####ing standing!!
  17. Interestingly, on the heels of this incident our neighbors in Kentucky are proposing legislative changes that will provide SROs for private schools. New legislation expands SRO options for Ky. private schools (msn.com)
  18. News reports are saying that these are the two Metro Nashville Police Department officers who engaged with and took out Hale, preventing her from murdering any more children or adults. Officer Rex Englebert, a four-year MNPD veteran Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran If accurate, bravo to them! They went in, did work, and saved lives. HEROES.
  19. NONE of them can be trusted. It's impressive that you felt it necessary to bring a partisan slant into this thread, though. Most folks wouldn't have had the nerve.
  20. Yeah that is the name I heard originally but the new and more accurate information points to a similar situation, ableit not with that person.
  21. I'm hearing rumors that some facts about the person who committed this crime today may make you wish you'd held on this comment if they are true.
  22. One morning last week, my eight-year-old daughter came into my exercise room, sat down on a bench and started watching the morning news that I had on the television. I usually keep the volume off and just watch the headlines while I'm rowing. Anyway, one of the news stories was about the lunatic in Nashville who attacked a woman in the laundromat and smashed her in the face and head with a piece of pipe. All on CCTV, which the media felt necessary to play repeatedly during the report of the story. My daughter commented on it, at which time I realized that she was in the room, so I quickly turned the TV off and told her that I really don't want her watching the news because it's almost always news about bad things. She voiced her concerns about the fact that someone would do that to another person, and I responded that this is why dad carries a gun everywhere that we go and told her, "Bad stuff like this happens all the time. That's why we pay attention to what is going on around us, so that we can react and get away." It really blows that I have to engage in these conversations with my kids, but we live in a dysfunctional and dying world so I find myself having to be honest with them and explain why we take the precautions that we do. She asked me, "Dad - would you have shot that person?". Looking for assurance that I wouldn't have let it happen to us. Yep, kiddo. I'd have shot that person.
  23. There is no such thing as a safe place in our society. You only have varying scales of risk.
