I am certainly not the first person to do this, but I "Macro'd" my Spectre Comp a few weeks ago and finally got a moment to take a photo to share. For someone who remembers when Glocks were cutting edge 25+ years ago, it feels like we are living in the Golden Age of Concealed Carry when we can buy a handgun that carries 17 rounds in a package this small with this many desirable features. Anyway, what you see there is basically Sig screwing those of us who bought a Spectre Comp by releasing the Macro a few months later for about $300 less than they charged for the SC. The only advantages I have over a plain ol' Macro is that I have a gaudy gold TiN trigger and barrel, and I guess maybe the SC has the Sig X-Ray night sights whereas the Macro XL doesn't. Hardly worth the premium upcharge over a Macro.

I'd hang on to the 19X. You still get the benefit of the 17rd mags, it'll fit any G19 holsters that you already have, and it's somewhat unique in the sense that it's not just another black Glock. OR... sell them both and pick up a Zev OZ9 or a Shadow Systems MR series so that you have something a little more different than every other Glock.

Your best "defense" is just a well-performing email filter. I still use Gmail for a lot of things, and their spam filtering is pretty amazing, but I also have a Protonmail account that I never use for anything related to retail sales.

Welcome to the Internet, bud. It's a retched hive of scum and villainy.

As relates to Christmas decorating, I think the pandemic changed things around my house and they will never go back to the way they were. We used to be the kind of family that waited until the weekend after Thanksgiving to decorate the house. Especially if it meant putting up the Christmas tree. That all went right out the window in 2020 when we, like a lot of people, arrived at the period of time between Halloween and Thanksgiving and said, "You know what? We need some holiday cheer. Screw it! Let's decorate for Christmas!" And we did. And no one died because of it. Fast forward two years and here we are in 2022. We started decorating the house this past week. We have artificial trees up, decorated and lit in three rooms of the house. (I may have had a tree-buying addiction in 2020 and 2021 also. Don't judge me.) My wife and kids also hung most of the lights on the exterior of the house while the weather was warmer last week, although they aren't lit yet. But they will be soon if this frigidly cold weather persists. I mean, why have low temperatures in the teens if you're not going to call it Winter?? So, who else is going for the gold well ahead of Thanksgiving this year? Anyone else brave enough to admit it? Hell, I might just get a wild hair and put up TGO's Christmas decorations early too!

Ah, the old "Don't support the Chinese government" argument. I get it. I do. But the very fact that you are on an Internet forum tells me that you are using an electronic device that, statistically, has far more components inside of it made by the ROC than it has components made anywhere else. With that in mind, you sort of lost before you started. That aside, let's talk optics since it's one of my favorite things to talk about. You mentioned Trijicon and that's a great place to start. I am a fan of the RMR series and have owned and used some variant of them for the past eight or so years. They work great, are rugged as hell, and not made in China. Unfortunately, Trijicon also hasn't done much to innovate since the RMR was introduced. We got the SRO which is popular among shooting sports enthusiasts but not rugged enough for hard use. We got the RMRcc which is a smaller version of the RMR, but it's also rather uninspiring in a lot of other ways. Things that Holosun seem to be doing better than Trijicon these days: Fully enclosed emitter design. Shake-awake technology for better battery life. Battery is accessible without removing the optic from the gun. Also, they seem to be listening to and responding to the consumer. Do I wish that an American optic company with American manufacturing presence was producing handgun optics for the American consumer? YEP! But I can wish in one hand and put a Holosun optic in the other, and I can tell you which one fills up faster.

Legendary comedian Gallagher dead at 76 years old!

It would be wildly inappropriate and yet also hilarious if his funeral requires ponchos for the front row. -

Oh. Well... all content here is contributed by the members. If he wants to contribute a list of gun shows, I'm sure his fellow gun owners would be appreciative. -

Your post doesn't make any sense. Feel free to drop me a PM and explain what you're wanting to see changed. -

Well, my Macro grip module and a few 17rd mags are due to arrive this week. I'll just throw them on my Spectre Comp's guts and slide and have the best of both worlds: Gaudy gold TiN trigger and barrel and capacity. lol

I had a pretty great one that I think @MacGyver owns now. It was a handful when you were squeezing off full house .357 Magnum rounds. Definitely one of those things that everyone ought to try at least once!

I think I've shared it before, but this was my grandfather's duty gun when he was a police officer back in the 60's. Smith & Wesson Model 19. He left it to my dad and I inherited it when my dad passed away. This is one of those guns that my kids will inherit one day, and hopefully their kids as well.

Yeah it's pretty hard to beat the SP101 and GP100. They're insanely popular for good reason.

Just change the Prefix to "AD CLOSED" .

I'll check on getting these made again.

Well... I recently bought another MR920 so I am back in the Shadow Systems game.

Not a bad idea but I also can't tell you how many times over the years that I've seen prospective buyers of high-end pistols get worked up over the silliest of things like seeing a loaded chamber flag stuck into the breach of a Ted Yost, Ed Brown, Les Baer, etc. 1911. It's almost like the thought of anyone other than them, or the gunsmith who hand-crafted it, racking the slide somehow devalues the gun by $3,000. I doubt many people would care if someone crammed a chamber flag down the barrel of a Glock 19, though.

I'm not surprised by this conclusion and rather expected it. Not because of you but because of the relationship that TGO has with Royal Range. Damned if I do, damned if I don't... so I just do. The fact remains that I'm allowed to have a personal opinion based on personal experiences. It's also probably worth pointing out that my opinion IS based on personal experiences rather than what I read on the Internet, newspaper, or heard on a news broadcast from a third party. Some folks would say that it makes my opinion a qualified opinion. The fact also remains that a negligent discharge occurred and that two people were wounded. That's not excusable, everyone was terribly lucky, and I would expect that changes in procedures will result because the folks that I've met at that range are squared away and won't ignore the fact that this happened or that there were check-points that failed to catch the loaded gun before it was handed to a customer. This is a good reminder to all of us that these tools, just like any tool, are dangerous and that skipping safety steps can and will result in injury or death. I'm just not out to crucify someone because of how the media chose to quote them.
-
I got a chance to handle one of them today and... WOW. I'll be ordering the grip module and some mags soon to run on my Spectre XL.
-
Look, I am going to give these folks the benefit of the doubt because I've been a customer and I got to spend about two hours with Bob Allen talking about a variety of topics for a podcast in the past and found him to be incredibly knowledgeable, professional and squared away. He's not some Paul Blart Mall Cop type. The media isn't exactly known for quoting things accurately OR in context, nor are they known for being favorable toward gun ownership issues. So bear those things in mind before we start piling onto the bandwagon.

I am convinced that Ford has made a deal with the devil when it comes to legroom in the rear seating positions. They manage to squeeze out far more knee room and head room back there than any other manufacturer. My 2011 Raptor was like the damned Tardis inside. Passengers couldn't believe how much room they had in the back seat. I miss that truck.

I'm going to piss off a lot of pitbull fans but... clearly the breed of peace. These stories are infuriating. That breed is quirky, prone to aggression, and very muscular. When one of them flips its ####, you're in for a fight even as an adult. Toddlers and infants? Hopeless. I wouldn't be sad to see that breed of dog become extinct.
