1.   I sent you a PM with a lengthier explanation than this, but there's really no translation between the Vendor and Benefactor accounts here and I'd prefer to keep it that way. The primary reason I don't do monthly Vendor accounts is because commercial advertising is one of those immediate, tangible benefits that provides instant exposure to our members that a business is here to serve them.  We don't do monthly billed Vendor accounts for the primary reason that I expect a business to seriously make a go of advertising on TGO before deciding it does or doesn't work for them.  If we offered month-to-month billing on advertising, there would be nothing to stop a business from making a big splash as a Tier 3 Vendor for a fraction of the price, do it for two months, and then bail on us and their customers.   I'm not saying you didn't make a go of things with your own endeavor, but the instant exposure of being a Vendor on TGO has already happened.  Sorry, I just can't do what you're asking.
2.   Interesting, thanks!
3. Hang on a sec... I need to gear up if we're going to seriously propose that she did this as a test / civil disobedience thing, knowingly putting Uncle Ted's Pro-2A poster child status at risk.
4.   There's no guarantee it's ever going to work.  We've been trying to get a good CC processor for years.  You don't have to possess a PayPal account to use PP, though.
5. Both of ours have to go back.  I'll send them one at a time, and probably not anytime soon.
6. It's never easy losing a friend or loved one.  The best we can do is remind ourselves to say the things that matter when we have the opportunities to do so.   Hang in there.
7.   Thanks!  I see what the problem is regarding the CC processing.  That option isn't even truly functional yet and shouldn't have been displayed as an option.  We're still trying to get that working properly.   I'm trying to come up with some other perks for the Lifetime Benefactors.  :)
8. So here's my take on a few things as they relate to this thread:     Warn vs. Do Not Warn   If I am occupying my residence or vehicle and someone invades it, there is no need to warn them about what will follow.  The only warning that needs to exist is the line between whatever public property they crossed to enter mine with the intent to harm me or anyone else occupying that property with me.  Any piece of property that I am occupying, be it my home, my garage, my car, my yard... is my castle.  I should not be required, and legally am not, to flee from my castle because some criminal seeks to harm me or remove me from it by force.  That is the basic premise of "Stand your Ground" and frankly is a basic human right.   Attempting to warn someone off as they endeavor to break into my house or car-jack me would waste precious seconds and, in the scenario of a home invasion, would likely place me at a tactical disadvantage by disclosing to them my position and state of readiness if they were to continue their pursuit.   If someone is breaking into my house, I am going to use my superior familiarity with the "lay of the land" as an asset and I will hit them with everything at my disposal from a position that they will only discover as they receive fire.   Standing on the other side of the door warning them that you have a gun and that they should leave only discloses to them where to start sending rounds from their own weapons if they have them.  I also provides them with at least partial intelligence about the number of people inside the house, how prepared (or not) those people are, and where they can find them once they breach the door.  Further, all of that unnecessary shouting robs me of the listening that I should be doing to keep tabs on how many are outside, where they are, and what their state of readiness is.   Trying to warn someone off from breaking into your house seems to pose more tactical disadvantages than advantages.  Being that there is no legal obligation to do so, and arguably no moral obligation either, I see no point in it.       Posturing and Nonsense   While this is off of the topic of the thread, it none the less addresses things I've noticed in the thread once again from several of the usual suspects.  I'm going to just leave this here and say that the other moderators and I are tiring quickly of the self-created drama, baiting, word-twisting and sissy slap-fighting that a very small number of members characteristically engage in.  It's not hard to guess who they are, so let me just be clear in saying that we're about to clean house if the behavior doesn't stop.   Consider this the warning from inside the house.
9.   Apparently the saving grace here is that if you fret so much that you hesitate to act and end up dead, you won't have to deal with the aftermath.   Wait... that's not a saving grace.
10. It's amazing how many people in this thread have incorporated "Fret anxiously over possible legal outcome of using deadly force to protect myself from imminent fear of grievous bodily injury or death" into their OODA Loop.  There's something wrong with this picture.
11.   Go back to the Client Area and view your pending invoices.  You can cancel it from there and try again.
12. You don't want that curse. :)
13.   Looks like it worked.  Did you get double-charged or anything like that?
14. I'm speechless.  GREAT show of support.  Thanks guys!
15.       It should be waiting in your email now.  If not, check the Client Area here for pending invoices.  :)
16.   Yeah, I can do that.  I'll have the software send you a custom invoice for the difference.
17. Force the laptop to reload all of the site files.  This article explains how:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bypass_your_cache   Clearing the cache shouldn't be necessary.  Just try a hard refresh of the page, as described inside that.  The method is different per browser and platform, but a Shift  + F5 does it on Chrome.
18. Chat is hosted @ IPB, not here.  They may have had a problem yesterday.  I'm able to get in this morning.
19. Many thanks!
20. QUESTION: I already have an active Benefactor membership. Can I upgrade for the difference in cost? ANSWER: YES! Absolutely. The forum software will give you credit for your existing Benefactor membership and only charge you an "upgrade" fee. :) Here's how to do it... At the top right of the screen click your name and then select the option for Client Area from the drop down menu. This will take you to the Store's client menu. Once at the Client Menu, click on the Purchases tab along the left-hand side of the screen. On the right-hand side of the screen you will see your active purchases. Click on the active purchase that you want to upgrade. In this example it's a 1-Year premium membership. Once you are viewing the active purchase, on the right-hand side of the screen will be several buttons. One of them is marked Change Package. Click it. You will now be shown a screen that has a list of packages (there may only be one, as in this case) that you can upgrade to. If you had a 6-month package, it would show you both the 1-Year and the Lifetime packages as options that you could choose. Select the radio button next to the option you want to upgrade to, and then click the Change To Selected Package button at the bottom of the screen. You can now proceed to the checkout. Once there, you should see that the cost of purchasing the new package reflects an "Upgrade" which only charges the difference between what you already had and what you're wanting to upgrade to. In this case the cost for the Lifetime membership has been reduced, taking into consideration the $35.00 1-Year option that the member already had. That's all there is to it. Sadly the process isn't as straight forward as I would have preferred but it's just the logic that the software follows when doing an upgrade. :)
21. OK, they resolved it quickly.  The problem is this software sucks and isn't intuitive at all.  I'm going to post a how-to here in a moment, but basically you do it via a convoluted process of upgrading your existing purchase.     1.  Visit the Client Area 2.  Click on Purchases to view Your Purchases 3.  Click on your existing purchase in the window 4.  Click on the "Change Package" button on the right hand side 5.  Click the radio button next to the package you're upgrading from 6.  Click the button at the bottom to "Change to Selected Package" 7.  Proceed through the checkout     Why they have to make it this hard to do something simple is beyond me.  IP.Board really ticks me off sometimes.  :wall:
22. Working on this with the IPB support folks now.  The software is configured correctly to provide the upgrade price but it's not doing it for some reason.
23.   CMT will do anything you want if you're willing to write them a big enough check.
