  1. Nice!  :)
  2. The Yaesu FT-270R handheld radio has a WX alert scan feature.  I have this radio for portable use along with a few other Yaesu 2M radios for base and mobile.     http://www.manualslib.com/manual/381750/Yaesu-Ft-270r.html?page=49   ^^ Hit that link for the user guide page that discusses it.
  3. I recently moved to another part of the area and have not yet set up a PO Box at the local PO.  Once I get that done I'll re-open the store.
  4. We've never banned anyone without having a very good reason for doing so.  A person would be wise not to serve as a "medium" for our departed members by posting their nonsense on our forum in their stead.
  5. Not real worried about it although this storm system is being hyped up quite a bit.
  6.   I'm usually a room-temperature whiskey sort of guy, but a friend gave me some Whiskey Stones a while back and I use them periodically.  They work great!
  7. Freakin' sweet.  Nicely done!
  8.   Michter's American Unblended.  Absolutely amazing.
  9. I loved and miss my FJ.  Congrats!  Send me your address and I'll send you a TGO sticker for it.  :D
  10. My family and I recently finished building our new home and we'd like to pick up some well-built furniture.  Right now we're primarily looking for things like rocking chairs or Adirondack chairs for the front and rear porches, but eventually we're going to want to do more than that.   Do any of you know of Amish craftsmen in the mid-state area?
  11.   Yep... Mr. St.John was a good guy.
  12.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/store/product/20-tgo-3-logo-decal/   That link should work.  Let me know if it doesn't.
  13. I saw one recently on a white Honda sedan in Murfresboro.  :)
  14. So here's my take on this whole thing.... :)   Members come and go no matter if we're talking about forums, or Facebook, or car clubs, or churches, or pretty much anything made up of people.  Why?  Because people are inclined to change no matter how much they try to sell you on the idea that they are creatures of habit.  It's just the way of life.   Folks say they drift away because the forum "changed" and I say that forums change because vocal, frequent contributors drift away and are replaced by new, different, vocal frequent contributors.  When the guard changes by natural attrition, the forum changes.  That's only a bad thing if the new guard is made up of complete a-holes.   I think we've managed to keep most of the a-holes at bay.  Lately we cleaned house a bit and that seems to have made things better.  ;)
  15.   Good to see you back here too!  :)
  16.   I think about Shannon frequently.  I was going through some files on the web server a while back and found the picture of him with his 1911 in hand.  I left it up on the screen, went to the wet bar to pour a glass of bourbon, came back and he and I just sat there and sipped it for a while.   Good dude.  Miss him.   Speaking of missing good dudes, glad to see you back here!  I mean that in the most hetero, Barney Stinson way, possible.  ;)
  17. Welcome to TGO.  :)
  18. I've personally seen and responded to any vendor inquiries that we've received.  Email me at david at tngunowners dot com.
  19.   http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1310   No kidding.  :)
  20. That's a good price.
  21.   I went to Catholic school.  The nuns wielded rulers like ninjas wield swords.
  22. Yoga pants are indeed a double-edged sword.  My wife and I witnessed a pair today that were defying the laws of physics in what they were able to hold in, yet stretched so thinly that you could read the fine print on the manufacturer's label inside them.   I want tires made out of stuff like that.
  23. Just keep in mind that the LCP is not really intended to be a "range gun" any more than a J-Frame revolver is.  The idea of this gun, like the J-Frame, is that it is a firearm you'd employ at conversation distances.  Or as a friend once put it, it is a get the f**** off me gun.   In such scenarios, you'd be jacked up on enough adrenaline that you would never notice the recoil.
  24. Glad to help.  I appreciate all of you who support the site as Benefactors.  Sorry it took so long to get that issue sorted out but until I was able to use KOM2's account and walk through the process myself, I wasn't able to replicate the problem.     The IPB guys have helped me make some changes to the software settings that should prevent this from becoming an issue again.
