USPSA cheating scandal breaking.

Wow, that's pretty ugly. -

USPSA cheating scandal breaking.
TGO David replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Yeah so I'm not reading through all of that crap. Who's being implicated and what's the short and sweet of it? -
This thread reminds me... I've got a new G-Shock #GW2310FB-1 that I can't wear because I've got a damn 8.75" wrist, so I need to sell it. I'll post it up on TGO later this weekend and make someone a smoking deal. :) Looks like this: All black and stealthy and tacticool.

I despise making this post. I am heartbroken and have tears in my eyes as I type it. Just a few moments ago I learned that one of our former moderators, a good friend of mine, and one of the genuinely nicest human beings I have had the pleasure to know, has passed away. Hunter Harris was a fixture on TGO several years ago before moving to Oklahoma to continue pursuit of his Doctorate degree. He and I met here on TGO and fast became friends. He served as a Range Safety Officer at the now-defunct Owl Hollow Gun Club, and helped RSO quite a few of our early TGO meet and greets at that range. After relocating to the Stillwater, OK area he discovered an outlet for his true calling in life -- to help other people -- by joining the local volunteer fire department. I am frequently skeptical of the people who flock to those jobs to satisfy their own egos or need for attention, but I knew that if anyone was doing it for the right reason it was Hunter. He had a passion for people. He had an insatiable, burning desire to make other people's lives better and had worked tirelessly toward that goal as a corporate Human Resources executive. When he told me he was leaving that world and the world of teaching Human Resources classes as a college professor behind, to fight fires and rescue people, I knew that it was because that was just what Hunter needed to do. He was the consummate servant-leader. Hunter was only 37 years old. He leaves behind a wonderful wife, Kelly, and their two small children. Please pray for his family. Hunter, I'll see you again one of these days my friend. Until then the world will be a slightly darker place without your light shining here. Rest easy.

Yes, we can do that. The problem is it's like painting the Golden Gate Bridge: Once we clean up a bunch of threads, it's time to do it all over again. People are simply inclined to start new threads without searching first for pre-existing threads.

Right. Mike Gideon is clearly Taliban if he'll call a guy at odd hours of the night and get him in trouble with his wife.

Texas open-carry gun groups threaten to leave NRA
TGO David replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"I personally am an endowment lifetime member of the NRA and an inductee into the Golden Eagles program," C.J. Grisham, president of "Open Carry Texas," told a CBS Dallas affiliate. "And I will rip up my cards and burn my certificates on camera if they don't change their stance." -
He probably should ...jmho

My copy just arrived. I know what we're doing this evening. :)

Welcome, Fred.

I've never been a fan of Crossbreed or the clones. Comp-Tac started the whole hybrid holster thing with their MTAC holster years ago and it's still the best thing going, IMO. You get what you pay for.

My copy should be arriving from Amazon today. It's far more convenient for me to buy from Amazon and have it delivered than it is to try and find time in my crazy-ass schedule to stop by a store and pick it up. Plus I don't have to interact with people when I do it like this. :D

Yes you can ignore that one. The annual subscription will run out and expire but the Lifetime account won't.

Yeah that's what I was about to post also. My P7 is an amazing shooter. Gets a bit hot after a few rounds at the range, but otherwise brilliant. The CCP looks like it should be a sweet shooter.

It's the way he was banned. What a turd. Had a long weekend celebrating my daughter's HS graduation and came back to this.

Beltman gets my vote every time. I've got several that are more than 10 years old now. I need to order a couple more just to keep on hand in case he ever decides to stop making them.

I've found it twice recently at Red Dog wine and spirits in Franklin.

Got made at a wedding this past weekend...
TGO David replied to hlb14's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I notice people carrying all the time. I don't run my mouth about it. The guy sounds like someone who doesn't value discretion. -
Still have the XD-S, doubt I'll part ways with it. They're different animals despite being similar in size. The M&P is actually a hair larger dimensionally but it feels smaller in the hand and pocket. The curves make it more slender to the touch than the XD-S and its blocky features. I haven't had a chance to put any rounds through the M&P yet so I won't be carrying it for real until I get that chance. The trigger feels great, though, and I'll welcome the two-additional rounds of capacity it has over the XD-S 45.

I'd been wanting one of these and happened across a smoking deal I couldn't pass up...

This came across my Facebook feed a while back and may have already been shared here, but it's relevant to this thread... http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/26/former-navy-seal-on-the-one-piece-of-advice-you-need-to-protect-yourself/
