EJECT! Punch out, Goose! Run, do not walk. Get while the gettin's good. I can tell you with great authority that marriage does not make situations like yours any better. She's trouble spelled with all capital letters. Cut your losses, chalk it up to the fact that she's batsh*t crazy, and go find happiness somewhere else. You don't have to end up alone, but being alone is better than being with someone who devalues you and places ultimatums on you like this. Get a dog. Get a cat. Get a goldfish. Get a picture of a goldfish and talk to that picture if you have to. Hell, get a picture of Taylor Swift and paste it on the ceiling above your bed. But don't stay in this mess one second more than you have to.

Handgunlaw.US needs our support
TGO David replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I really hope folks will help. That's a valuable resource and we need to ban together in cases like this and show them some support. -
I think the people you're maligning are, to a large degree, doing about the only thing they can with the resources at their disposal. As has been pointed out, we have a society of tyrants occupying the government from top to bottom at both the Federal and State levels and that doesn't leave much for the voting public to work with. It's rare to find elected representatives who are truly on the side of the Constitution and the public, and they seem to be outnumbered and outgunned by the opposition. Visiting representatives in person or protesting outside their offices takes free time, and those of us on this side of the argument generally have very little of that to spare. Case in point, the Occupy Wallstreet types weren't commuting to productive jobs during the day and returning to their hippie communes in public parks at night. They were largely unemployed students and stay-at-home types (or homeless) and had nothing BUT free time on their hands. Even the most industrious spider can be overwhelmed by an army of ants. Besides, what's the return on investment for "us" to meet with elected officials who don't have a care in hell about the Constitution? Or who are so badly on the take via backroom deals that they would sell their own mothers up river if it meant another four-years in public office to grow their fiefdoms? I'm not going to rush to take time off from my job to meet with some bought and paid for bureaucrat who will smile, thank me for coming to see them, nod in feigned agreement as I voice my concerns, and then do precisely the opposite of what I've requested when it comes time for them to vote for my rights as an American citizen. The problem is corruption and it's getting harder and harder to put honest people in office and keep them honest, and almost impossible to get rid of the traitors already in office. The problem isn't disinterest on the part of gun owners. Just my two-cents worth.

You lead an interesting life. :stare:

There's nothing actually in the store for purchase right now other than the Benefactor subs. I have some more of the decals and need to get them counted up so that I can add them back to the store. Possibly this weekend.

Thanks for this thread and the kind words. These guys work hard to keep this place clean and useful and TGO simply wouldn't be what it is without them. Lord knows they've carried the bulk of the weight lately.

I've been eyeballing a PPQ M2 for quite some time now, but this may sway me back to HK.

'SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED' Decals Now Available
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Yeah I've got some left. I just need to do a count and post them back up in the store. -
Thanks guys. Been completely internet-less except for my smartphone for the past four days, attending to family stuff.

I kinda dig it.

Something big is getting ready to kick off
TGO David replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Saw a flight of what appeared to be C130's leaving Nashville this morning. I know for certain I saw three, possibly as many as five were in flight climbing over the city as I drove into work at around 9:00am. -
You missed the other decal on the car...

Wow, that's pretty ugly. -

USPSA cheating scandal breaking.
TGO David replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Yeah so I'm not reading through all of that crap. Who's being implicated and what's the short and sweet of it? -
This thread reminds me... I've got a new G-Shock #GW2310FB-1 that I can't wear because I've got a damn 8.75" wrist, so I need to sell it. I'll post it up on TGO later this weekend and make someone a smoking deal. :) Looks like this: All black and stealthy and tacticool.

I despise making this post. I am heartbroken and have tears in my eyes as I type it. Just a few moments ago I learned that one of our former moderators, a good friend of mine, and one of the genuinely nicest human beings I have had the pleasure to know, has passed away. Hunter Harris was a fixture on TGO several years ago before moving to Oklahoma to continue pursuit of his Doctorate degree. He and I met here on TGO and fast became friends. He served as a Range Safety Officer at the now-defunct Owl Hollow Gun Club, and helped RSO quite a few of our early TGO meet and greets at that range. After relocating to the Stillwater, OK area he discovered an outlet for his true calling in life -- to help other people -- by joining the local volunteer fire department. I am frequently skeptical of the people who flock to those jobs to satisfy their own egos or need for attention, but I knew that if anyone was doing it for the right reason it was Hunter. He had a passion for people. He had an insatiable, burning desire to make other people's lives better and had worked tirelessly toward that goal as a corporate Human Resources executive. When he told me he was leaving that world and the world of teaching Human Resources classes as a college professor behind, to fight fires and rescue people, I knew that it was because that was just what Hunter needed to do. He was the consummate servant-leader. Hunter was only 37 years old. He leaves behind a wonderful wife, Kelly, and their two small children. Please pray for his family. Hunter, I'll see you again one of these days my friend. Until then the world will be a slightly darker place without your light shining here. Rest easy.

Yes, we can do that. The problem is it's like painting the Golden Gate Bridge: Once we clean up a bunch of threads, it's time to do it all over again. People are simply inclined to start new threads without searching first for pre-existing threads.

Right. Mike Gideon is clearly Taliban if he'll call a guy at odd hours of the night and get him in trouble with his wife.
