  1. Concealed carry comes with a myriad of decisions and sometimes even concessions on the part of the armed individual. Answering the call of nature while in public is certainly among them and sometimes it is an event that cannot be avoided. That said, in your case, I think I'd skip the greasy food while out in public and carrying given that you know what the result of eating that food is going to be. In the rare case that I've ever had to pinch a loaf so urgently that I couldn't make it home, and was armed, I generally kept my holstered handgun in my hand/lap while taking care of business. I've read suggestions from folks to use the coat-hook on the stall door to hang your firearm by the trigger guard (bad idea) and assume this as well as fingering the trigger while reholstering is how we end up with stories about negligent discharges in public restrooms. At least the kind of ND that doesn't involve first tapping your foot under the stall to invite the deviant sexual interest of a neighboring Senator. Try to remain in possession or tight control of the firearm. You're not truly safe on the commode as mobsters and Austin Powers will both tell you.
  2. The problem with all of this boils down to stupidity.  The NFA laws are stupid and people who constantly write letters to the BATFE to scratch their guilty conscience or uncertainty are stupid for doing so.  If you ask the same question enough times, sooner or later you're going to get the answer you don't want.
  3. I think the instructor gave you good advice and should be applauded for telling you to come on and take the class anyway.  It might be eye-opening to you to see just what disadvantages each platform (revolver vs. semi auto) have.  For what it's worth, I have found the revolver platform to have more disadvantages than advantages, but your experience might vary.
  4. Like I said, something got corrupt in your browser's cache.  Not the fault of the site or the server, it just happens.
  5. I've seen belts of varying sizes and types in stock at Guns & Leather and also Everything Weapons.  I'm not sure about other local stores.
  6.   Heh.  This is an "it works or it doesn't" sort of thing.  If it worked for you now and reoccurs, the fix is to again clear your cache.  Safari isn't the greatest browser, IMO.  I would recommend you install Google Chrome for iOS.
  7.   Nice!  I am hoping mine arrives by New Years Eve.   Eventually this one will go back to the Springfield Custom Shop for a set of Heinie Ledge Straight-Eight night sights, total MIM parts replacement, and to have the front strap of the frame checkered and the frame itself redone in black Armory Kote.   Until then I'm just going to shoot the snot out of it.
  8.   So you're advocating vandalism???   And you have a police badge in your profile???   Wow.
  9.   Call the police.  Have "vehicle problems" behind them until the police get there.
  10. Clear your Safari browser cache.  It sounds like you've cached some CSS files that are broken.
  11. You know, the funny thing is... King Armory dude made good counterpoints in places but the delivery was just all wrong.  My grandfather used to tell me "don't let your ass fly up and hit you in the back of the head".  Parts of this thread are perfect examples of what he meant.  ;)
  12.   Those are simply amazing.  Nice score!
  13. Santa gave me the OK to do this... I've got a new unused set of black VZ Grips in the safe from the last time I thought I was going to buy another 1911, a Raven Concealment Phantom holster coming, and an Ed Brown snake-skin texture magwell / mainspring housing coming for it.
  14. I recorded it but haven't watched it yet.  Hope to do so over the next few days.
  15. Nice shooting, Mods. :)
  16. That Spindrift is just sexy.
  17. It's practically open season on the thug segment of society.  I'm ok with this.
  18. That Wiley Clapp edition Ruger is nice!   I got a new 5.11 Rush Messenger "Lima" bag to carry my crap for work.  More to come.
  19.   It'd also not happen if they'd get people's freakin orders right!     ;)
  20. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this guy doesn't have a carry permit.
  21. Merry Christmas! On behalf of myself and the Staff of moderators here at TGO, I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. I hope that you find yourself surrounded by friends, family and loved ones this holiday season. If for any reason you are spending it alone, I hope that you are doing so by your own choice and that you find comfort and restoration in the peace and solitude that it brings. If you are alone this season against your will, please seek out others to spend the day with even if it is by donating your time to serve the less fortunate through a local church or civic organization. And above all, please be sure to keep the reason for this season in your hearts. Rarely will you see me use TGO as a pulplit to preach from, however I would be remiss if I did not remind you that Christmas is truly about Christ Jesus and God's gift of his precious Son so that you could enjoy eternal life with Him. (Luke 2:1-20) If you are traveling this week, please do be careful out there. And please be mindful of what's in your luggage if you are flying. Don't accidentally forget ammo or a firearm and end up spending the holidays somewhere you wish you weren't. ;)
  22. Very generous.  Thanks!
  23. I've been tracking Kincaid for about a year now wanting to put a table in our house as well.  The Lambert has caught my eye recently and I almost pulled the trigger on the American Heritage used table they had recently.  My wife talked me into holding off for a bit longer to do some other things first.   I'll be interested in hearing how you like the Lambert going forward.
  24. Welcome Ron.
