  1.   The odds that anyone left in military or even political service in France was there during WWII are astronomically against it.  With that in mind, and based on what I have read of the current generation of France's fighting forces written by members of our own elite forces (Rangers, SEALs, etc), running and surrendering are not in their vocabulary.   I know, the fact that France's political leaders rolled over and played dead for Hitler in WW2 makes for an easy target and a funny joke.  It's also disingenuous to their modern warfighters and, frankly, kind of tired and old.   What we should be throwing jabs about is the fact that France seriously restricts private gun ownership in that country and none of that gun control was worth a hill of beans in these most recent terrorist attacks.  Even the police are given the option to carry or not to carry a sidearm, and many of them reportedly opt not to.  Why in the world?!?   I suspect some officers may change their minds after this.
  2. You know, I was looking back at this thread the other day and thinking about how badly I need to get back to the range.  I also need to get back to the gym and back to hoofing it a few miles every day.  Right now I would be the weakest link in my overall "self defense system".
  3. You guys ever wonder if that irrelevant old assclown says stuff that he knows makes him sound like a complete jackass JUST to see if he can get away with it?
  4. http://raven-concealment-systems1.mybigcommerce.com/heckler-koch-phantom-modular-holster/   I'm a fan of the Raven Concealment Phantom.  They have the VPN9 holster (above) in their "Ready To Ship" series which means you'll get it in a few days vs. waiting a few weeks.  It's pricey but worth it.
  5. Sorry, I've been dying to use it for weeks now.
  6.   It's an interesting schism in the firearms community.  I'd say almost 50/50 based on what I have seen over the years.  Some folks are cooperative.  Other folks tend to be less trusting.
  7. I just visited the thread to figure out the whole "traveling with weed for work" thing.  Turns out the thread title was misleading, otherwise it sounded pretty Miami Vice.
  8.   Both of those are extraordinarily hurtful.  And true.
  9.   Sorry.  :D   But to be honest, this kind of makes me feel a little vindicated.  Normally my co-pilot falls asleep on me unless I keep her awake by agitating her somehow.
  10.   That's pretty slick.
  11. I went through this recently.  On previous trucks I've always had the Undercover brand of ABS hard shell.  It worked great for security and weather-tightness but was a real pain to remove when I wanted to haul something large.   Just before Christmas I ordered an Undercover Flex for my current truck, but I ended up with buyer's remorse and cancelled the order.  I just use my truck far too frequently as a truck and knew it was $700'ish that really wasn't well spent.  They are supposed to be outstanding tonneau covers and I did a lot of research on them before buying, but in the end I felt like I'd end up becoming frustrated with having any sort of cover on the bed.   The rolling segmented type are supposed to be nice as well but I've seen some that didn't hold up.  I would research those pretty heavily before buying one to make sure that I got the most durable option.
  12.   Thanks for caring enough to stop in and tell us you don't care.
  13. As a note to all who are ordering, I will be sending these out in batches once a week, typically on Wednesdays so that they arrive by the weekend.  Those of you who order before 5pm on Tuesday will have yours mailed out to you on that following Wednesday.
  14.   You just proved my point with the last statement.   :)   As for not covering your friend with a muzzle, have you used a flashlight?  You don't have to aim them directly at something to illuminate it.  ;)
  15. Welcome.  Audi fan?
  16. John Moses Browning approves.
  17. I have an XDS 45 and have enjoyed shooting it, and the Mod 2 looks like a natural evolution.  Unfortunately a lot of folks have really latched on to the "Grip Zone" molded into the grip and have amused themselves by making fun of it too much to give any other aspects of the gun a fair shake.   If you shoot it well, will carry it religiously, and it goes bang every time you pull the trigger, I would say you have a keeper.  Enjoy it.  :)
  18. Ok, I had to redo the invoice.  Send me a PM with the email you want to be using and I'll try to change it behind the scenes.
  19.   Honestly I'm not sure.  It's worth a shot.
  20.   And this is where the Libertarian / Constitutionalist argument generally comes off the rails.  Your mentality is very isolationist and doesn't consider that you might just be in the minority.  Like I said, a win-win is for the State to acknowledge Constitutional open carry and sell permits for concealed carry.  Those who want a permit and reciprocity will pay for it.  Those who don't will just enjoy carrying freely inside the state.   As for how many people make use of reciprocity, I can tell you I do all the time.  And likely so do countless other Tennesseans with HCPs who travel back and forth to neighboring states on a weekly if-not daily basis.  Ask folks who live in border towns like Clarksville, Chattanooga, Memphis, Johnson City, etc. But what it sounds like you're saying is since you aren't one of those people, you couldn't care less provided it's free for you.   Like I said, very isolationist.
  21. Actually, this may not be an easy fix.  I'll have to open a support ticket with the forum software vendor.  Your Vendor account is linked to your email address by virtue of PayPal.  When you changed the address, you severed the relationship between the two.
  22. No problem - easy to fix.
  23. From their site...   A permit holder can submit a Renewal Application at any Driver Service Center or renew by mail. To receive a renewal application by mail call (615) 251-8590.
  24. I like that they are using the G-Code attachment system.  I'll give them a look-see the next time I am in the market for a holster.  :)
