  1.   Hooray for the TGO polos!
  2. Changing the name of this thread.  I had someone contact me and ask me if this was the same series of events that I am putting together for Benefactors.  It is not.   I'm glad you guys are getting together but I need to reduce confusion some.
  3.   Yes, but rights apply to all of us.  Even the most undeserving person.  Even the person who abuses those rights the most.  That's why most (all?) of the people you see defending them are doing so.  Not because they agree with the behavior of the MENSA intellectuals you saw on that video, but because of the fact that those rights apply to each of us as well.   The problem with cancers, to borrow your analogy, is that there's no good way to get rid of them without universally applying a poison that affects the healthy members of the body as well.
  4. If I pick up another 1911 this year it will very likely be a Dan Wesson Specialist, in black of course.  They're about $400-500 more than the Colt (on average) but they have everything done to them that I would want in a carry 1911.  Check them out some time.
  5. You guys need to drop me a PM and let me know what business you intend to represent.  I think I'm pretty sure I know what Grand Torino has in mind.  :)   As for the pricing and such, I'll be making that information available later this week privately.  Our rates are changing this year and I'm not done finalizing it.  Bringing some new things to the table as part of the Vendor program, but do not have concrete details yet.
  6. Congrats! My best friend has an MC Operator and nearly convinced me to go the same route, as evidenced by my post around Christmas saying I had clearance to buy one. I honestly cannot give you any justification for *not* going with the MC Operator other than the fact that deep down I really wanted to scratch the Colt itch. You can find a thread I did on his MC Operator back a few years ago when we re-finished the slide in a matte silver color, here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/15660-refinish-job-springfield-marine-corps-operator/ One thing I would at least research doing, were I you, would be to remove the goofy ILS lock. It's a pretty easy modification and would ensure that there's no way Murphy's Law could strike and render your firearm un-fireable. It's interesting to note that Springfield apparently has a new version of the MC Operator coming out this year. I noticed these pics on another forum yesterday actually: The major differences that I notice are G10 VZ "Slant" style grips rather than the ridiculously bulky Pachmayer grips from the previous version, and the addition of some rather interesting checkering on the front strap and what looks like matching checkering on the main spring housing. Another thing that most folks aren't aware of is that Springfield released in 2014 the "Long Beach Operator" which is essentially the MC Operator but in all black Armory Kote finish, a mag well, and different grips. I rather like it.
  7. I'll send you some info.
  8. Everyone shouid read this...   http://www.allenbwest.com/2014/12/quite-possibly-racist-article-will-ever-read/         About Allen West:   Allen West was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia in the same neighborhood where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once preached. He is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family.   During his 22 year career in the United States Army, Lieutenant Colonel West served in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was a Battalion Commander in the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and later in Afghanistan. He received many honors including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals and a Valorous Unit Award. In 1993 he was named the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year.   After his retirement from the Army in 2004, Allen taught high school for a year before returning to Afghanistan as a civilian military adviser to the Afghan army, an assignment he finished in November 2007.   In November of 2010, Allen was honored to continue his oath of service to his country when he was elected to the United States Congress, representing Florida’s 22nd District. As a member of the 112th Congress, he sat on the Small Business and Armed Services Committees and was instrumental in passage of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act.   He is a Fox News Contributor, a Senior Fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, and regularly writes for numerous media outlets.   Allen is an avid distance runner, a Master SCUBA diver and motorcyclist. His wife, Angela, holds an MBA and Ph.D. and is a financial planner. His older daughter, Aubrey, attends college in south Florida, and his younger daughter Austen, is in high school.
  9. I see several people who should have woken up in a hospital needing emergency surgery to remove a cell phone from their ass. Seriously... I just couldn't do that job. You guys keep that in mind the next time someone posts a "cop bashing" thread here on TGO. This is the sort of B.S. they put up with on a daily basis. If 9 out of 10 people you encountered in your job acted like those assholes, you would probably find it really hard to choke back the expectation that the 10th person was going to be any different. And for what it's worth, the blacks in the ghetto are just the most recent arrivals to the video everything the cops do party. Stupid ass white people started it during during protests and demonstrations, just HOPING to catch one cop at his wits end, finally going upside someone's head with a well-deserved baton or a boot. Freedom gives you a lot of things in this country, but one thing it SHOULDN'T is freedom from consequences. Those highly productive members of black society who were obviously just on a lunch break from their well-paying jobs at Edward Jones and Associates, clearly got lucky and missed the Consequences Bus that day. Martin Luther King must be rolling over in his grave. He died for THIS?!?
  10.   These guys probably don't get much time behind a stick like that.  Many of the patrol officers opt not to carry handguns.
  11. I think most of you have been here long enough to know the rules and know to leave the pics with profanity off the forum.   Tnx.
  12. I greatly prefer the rubberized GunTape brand material for this reason.  The abrasive sort is hell on your clothes, skin, anything in your pockets.... just anything it gets up against.
  13.   The vehicles are way more entertaining than I am!
  14. Will keep you in my prayers, Doug.  As Mac said, let us all know if you need anything.
  15. I honestly don't have an answer for that.  It seems like a huge change in reception to your sticker with the mere addition of a URL, and I really can't rationalize it.
  16.   The URL is what brings new people to the community, and it's really small on the decals.  Small enough they have to be walking by your vehicle and stop for a second to really get a good look at it.
  17.   I dressed like Little Bo Peep once.   Not really.
  18.   Hear hear!
  19.     Bears repeating!   Closing this thread.
  20. All the jokes aside -- I'd still like to take a class led by him.  The guy has a lot of good info between his ears.  The Magpul Dynamics DVDs were great instructionals and there really wasn't a whole lot of BS in them.  Granted, Travis Haley seems to have kept him anchored pretty securely but still.   I think the most recent batch of ridiculousness is just the result of him believing his own press a little too much.
  21.   It's just disheartening.  Drove me to drink!  Still drinking.  What's been seen cannot be unseen.
  22. I'm pretty sure that conversation with me would have gone more along the lines of: You want me to do... what?
  23.   If I can draw it, they can produce it.  The only limitation is the cost per square inch of real estate.
  24.   We cranked some of those out in years past.  I'll probably revisit it at some point.  In the meantime the morale patches would be a great addition to any tacticool hats with velcro pads on them.
  25. I can also go larger with these, or even have a second option for larger patches for those of you who want to use them for something else or want bigger swag to slap on your coat / range bag.  They'd be a little more expensive but a 3" or even 4" would work better as a coaster or something.
