  1. Nice heater!  I'll second the VM2 for a holster, but have an Alien Gear 2.0 on the way for my Colt, and carry it in a Raven Concealment Phantom so I'm all kinds of non-discriminatory.  I do have a pile of leather VM2's and VM2 clones for various guns including my Commander-length 1911s, so you can't go wrong there.
  2. When you guys get around to dumping like-new Gen4 Glock 17's, let me know.  :)
  3.   You just need to be aware of the trade-offs.  If you're selling your lenses, you might as well investigate Nikon.  You'll pay slightly less for the Nikon body but slightly more for the lenses.
  4.   The conference exhibit hall is free to NRA members.
  5. Parking like that is just asking for repercussions.
  6.   Ron, Chip Cain and John Wall are both respected attorneys and are Vendor partners here on TGO.  They both charge reasonable rates and their work is worth their fees. Beyond that, they support this site and make it possible for you to be here enjoying it.   I thought we had put to bed the idea that economy is the key when doing a trust.  You get what you pay for, and people who are doing NFA items generally are not operating under "money is tight" situations.
  7. "The place to discuss firearms related events and gatherings across Tennessee"   Relocating this thread...
  8. Ron I can't tell what you're quoting and what you're typing.  You need to type your reply outside of the quote box, not inside of it.
  9.   Yeah because the deafening silence from all of the other Muslims in the world isn't an indictment of their complicity.
  10.   Meh.  I've been shot twice.  Both times with small calibers.  I hasn't happened again in about 20 years so I think my luck may have changed.
  11.   But speaking as someone who HAS been shot before and didn't just read about it on the Internet and form an opinion off of hypotheticals, I can tell you it makes a difference WHAT you get shot with.
  12. I'd like to see the waiver that they have you sign when they sell you a copy.  If they don't have one, they are seriously setting themselves up to be sued if one of their customers botches their own paperwork and gets slapped down by the Government.
  13.   Thanks Doug.  My heart rate went up a bit when I saw a missing persons post.  It wasn't too long ago it was Triple Digit Ride's daughter who was missing.
  14. A paper target is a poor indicator of ballistic performance.
  15. Go with Chip Cain or John Wall here on TGO.  Both are attorneys and are excellent at what they do.
  16.   That second item could certainly result in an interesting conversation.
  17. As you may know, the National Rifle Association is holding it's annual national Meetings & Exhibits this year -- for the first time ever -- in Nashville. The meeting occurs between April 10th and 12th at the new Music City Center in the heart of downtown. For many TGO members, this is your home state, if not your back yard! So my question to you is, who here plans to attend? And if you do plan to attend -- who among you would be interested in having a TGO specific break-out session with some of the NRA leadership or personalities if I am able to arrange such for us? We currently have 22, 300 members on TGO. That's a large membership base and it seems that a large number of us also members of the NRA. I would imagine that the NRA leadership would at least entertain the idea of meeting with a contingent from TGO if we can come up with a topic or list of topics that we would like to hear from them about. Let's hear some ideas. I'm already trying to make something happen. I just need to get down to specifics.
  18. Topic was greatly misleading and a little "cry wolf".  Added (Joke) so that people would understand what they were coming into the thread for.
  19.   Man, no offense but I'd find a new church.  I can commune with God anywhere.
  20. Bummer.  Is it wrong to suggest maybe you should thank her for posting next time you see her?   :)   You might want to invest in one of these if they're available for your model of truck.  http://www.consolevault.com/
  21. Were you carrying in such a way that it would have been visible if you'd just kept it on your person, or was it adequately concealed?  And if the latter, was the business posted or something?   I'm just trying to figure why you were compelled to leave it behind, because ultimately now another improperly chaperoned gun is out on the streets.  People don't steal firearms to use them for lawful purposes.
  22. This seems way too targeted and specific of a smash n' grab.  Someone saw you unholster and stow it away.  You chose to omit the name of the place where it happened, but is there some reason?  Can you share?
  23. Roger that.  It'll make it easier to do some upgrades, for sure.
  24. If part of your shirt was in the holster, you're honestly lucky you didn't shoot yourself holstering the weapon.  This is a good wake-up call for you and everyone else reading the thread.  ALWAYS be sure your holster is clear of your shirt, coat, cover garment, Twinkies, cupcakes or other obstructions when you holster.  Stray objects such as shirt tails have contributed to plenty negligent discharges while holstering and typically end up with a visit to the ER.
  25. I'd still take the Shield over an LC9 any day.  Personal preference I suppose.  The LC9 just never has felt right in my hand and looks too... soft.
