  1.     All manuals state that.  Oil should still show on the dipstick if it's the appropriate level.  When you warm the vehicle up, the oil level actually DROPS on the dipstick because oil has been pulled up into the crankcase.
  2. Unless someone has changed the oil pan to something with a deeper than OEM sump, or has replaced the dipstick, that Jeep with the proper amount  of oil in it should show oil in the "SAFE" zone on the dipstick even when checked cold.
  3. Welcome to Tennessee.  We've had a history of working with Texans in the past.  ;)
  4. Sounds like quite the ordeal.  Glad you're still among us!  Which is, indeed, the most important part!
  5. Yeah they are pretty slick.  I wouldn't want one in a carry M&P but for a range toy or a competitive shooter's gun, you can't beat them.
  6. I've been traveling for work and haven't been home to mail anything out.   I'll see to it they go out in the mail on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday of course).

I don't want to turn a $400 forum into a $200 forum by having a stippling, machining, slide cutting sub-forum though.   :taunt:
  8. I changed it last night.  Should work fine now.
  9. Didn't realize this was going on.   I can make it so that prefixes aren't mandatory but you guys will have to use the mobile web version to add them if you want them.

  11. Tried some of the local spirits while out here in the Bay Area this week...   http://sonomacountydistilling.com/#section-1   Both the Rye and the Wheat were quite enjoyable but the Wheat had the heat I desire.
  12. Look on the left side of the screen after you click the New Content link. On the left will be a column of options. Choose the one that indicates all new unread content. Something you've done changed the options. Changing them back will correct it. This isn't anything the forum did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13.   I like the .338 Lapua option.  Don't think of it as a feral cat, think of it as ballistic gelatin on legs.  :D
  14. It looks like a target.   :D
  15.   Thanks Willis!  Yeah we need to get together soon and blast some targets then have a beer somewhere afterward to cool down!   Truth be told they had a Hellcat Challenger in the showroom that we tried to buy but they wouldn't sell it.  It had been ordered for a friend of the dealership's owner (we were told) and he already had one or two others.  They did offer an allocation for a 2016 Hellcat if we wanted one, but with Dodge being flaky and canceling orders on them this past year and raising the price a bit more next year, we decided to hold for the moment.   The Hellcat may certainly be overkill but when's the last time you or me did something that wasn't?  :D
  16.   Tnx!  They claim 458 HP.
  17.   Tnx!  Hey - I sent you something to your GMail account yesterday.  Take a look and see if it works.   :)
  18. Welcome!
  19. Thank you for your support!
  20. As fate would have it, I traded my Raptor off and picked up one of the new Scat Pack edition 392 Hemi R/T Chargers this past week. Really love the car!
  21.   True.  We took ours out to LBL and ran the numbered dirt roads once and it was a fairly fun outing.  When we took it down some of the narrower stuff, it got harrowing.   Offroading around here means "Jeep trails" which means you need a smaller, more nimble vehicle with aggressive approach and departure angles that won't get high centered on stuff.  My JK Unlimited was almost too big for a lot of trails.  The Raptor just wasn't made for that sort of thing.
  22. So... This past week I received an offer too good to pass up on my 2011 Raptor and we parted ways. 5 years was a good run, but who wouldn't take $5K less on trade than they PAID for it 60 months ago??? Our plan has been to pick up a 2018 Raptor if Ford doesn't end up screwing the first-year buyers again the way they did in 2011. The 2010 Raptors are the ugly step-kid. No crew-cab option and the 5.4L Triton motor as opposed to the 6.2L solid iron engine in the 2011+. You can't give a 2010 away; I've seen their value listed as low as $15K in some sources. Ford really gave the early adopters the middle finger and I kind of suspect they may do it again in 2018. The Ecoboost twin-turbo V6 may be impressive but truck guys want V8s. My suspicion is that 2018 will see the 5.0L Coyote come to the Raptor, maybe even in boosted form. So I cashed in on the unnaturally high resale value the old Raptor has right now, and am going to sit on the sidelines for the next two years to see what comes of the new truck. Next year I figure the current Raptor's resale value will fall quite a bit as owners dump theirs to be the cool kids with the new truck, and flood the market. Until I see what happens after year-one, I am going to be driving this beast: 2015 Dodge Charger R/T "Scat Pack" edition with SRT 6.4L 392ci Hemi
  23.   I noticed that today.  What a shame.  :(
  24. That does not look like it was inexpensive.   :)
  25.   I happen to have a great M&P 9mm for sale right now.  :)
