2nd Amendment Event - Franklin, Tennessee - October 10th
TGO David replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Being in Franklin, you guys are almost guaranteed to run into Voldemort. I wonder how he'll choose to be arrested. -
Critique my "get home" bag

I don't see a handgun and spare ammo in there. -
Indeed, I count myself fortunate. This particular friend is a leatherneck too, so our conversations tend to be absolutely politically incorrect and some of the best. :D

Same here.

TT Gunleather Loses All to Fire
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Well he's out in California now. Not sure if he started in Texas or maybe you're thinking about someone else. I saw a post on their Facebook page earlier stating that they might have a line on a new shop facility to use. I hope he can get back up and running soon for his own sanity's sake. I'm sure it would be a bit of a welcomed distraction to start doing leatherwork again. -
I think you can option them with something other than the Dana 44 front and rear, but the 44 is actually a very strong axle.

What's up with all of the propaganda, Comrade?

What the Titans need is a winning coaching staff. They don't have it.

That would be an AEV Brute conversion. They're hella nice but also about $60-75K depending on how the owner optioned it.

Let me preface this with the statement that when the SHTF and society collapses, alcohol as a beverage is very likely to once again become a form of currency just as it was in the old days. Anyone who does even a casual bit of reading about the history of distilling spirits will quickly note how many ministers distilled bourbon and whiskey back in those times. It was to keep their families financially solvent; no man needs that much whiskey for himself. :) So, framed in those terms, I'd absolutely become a student of how to distill my own alcohol for drinking and medicinal purposes also as a survival tool. Learning doesn't have to mean doing either, and learning is still legal. But back to your stated purposes... that's pretty cool. :)

If you could be encouraged to put an order in before they get up and running, I am certain every dollar will help them tremendously right now. I am tempted to order another holster myself just because. -
Let us know when things aren't working! :)

I see you're still being monitored the old fashioned way. The Jade Helm exercise was supposed to distribute nano-technology to all TGO members via jet airplane contrails, but some folks (like yourself) may have adequately tinfoiled their homes, keeping the nano-bots out. You're going to just have to let Jared do his job. Just don't let him near kids. ;)

I know there are several other folks here who also use TT Gunleather holsters. They have been a staple of mine for about 12 years now, and whenever I buy a handgun that I know I might carry, an order would go in to Tim Thurner for a new piece of leather to go on my hip. I have an order pending with them right now that should be about to ship so I checked their web site to see what orders were completed and going out now, and learned that just this past week they lost everything to a wildfire that swept through the valley where their home and shop was. The pictures of the devastation were horrible, as Tim and his family escaped with the clothes on their back and the family pets that they were able to quickly herd into the car. They've posted that they will rebuild and be back in business, but for now they are having to pick up the pieces and try to reassemble their lives. Terrible stuff. http://www.ttgunleather.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TTGunLeather-192428270824098/timeline/

That doesn't seem easier than asking for help. :)

A friend gave me one of those molds for Christmas last year and I'm sad to say I haven't used it yet. :( I do have this one that I do use though... http://amzn.to/1G8VEJG

You misunderstood what the app shows. It's not YOUR sex, it's a number between -10 and 10 showing how much sex you've had in the past month. It's really invasive and frankly I'm tired of people sending me congratulatory emails. 10 is just a number, folks. :hat:

It was meant in jest. I am in no way, shape or form, a whiskey, scotch or bourboun newb. Somewhere in Bardstown, Kentucky there is a statue honoring my liver.
-
Classy. Let's keep the racist remarks off TGO, thanks.

Sir you seem to have some water in your Bourbon. What's that all about???

No, you're 14,366. ;)

2003 Mustang owners I need some transmission removal advice
TGO David replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
^^^^ Truth! I did the clutch replacement once on my Mach 1 with a floor jack and block of wood at the front of the engine block like JohnC described and the engine shifted ever so slightly while we were muscling the transmission out. Scared the bejeezus out of me because my arm was wrapped around the top of the trans loosening those bolts. I just knew my arm was going to get crushed between the trans and the trans tunnel by the full weight of the engine. After that, I bought the engine cross beam and never looked back. Its seriously just gathering dust in my garage. $300 tool for $75. Come and get it. -

That won't work. Removing the trim bezel, outer and inner shift boot on a 2003 Mustang is a piece of cake but you're left with a hole about 6" square to work from. There's no access to the bolts that he's trying to reach from there. You've gotta tip the engine/trans slightly so that the tail of the transmission is angled downward in order to reach those bolts with regular extensions. Ford installed the engine/trans as a single unit on the assembly line so they weren't really thinking about how hard they'd be to work on later. It's the curse of the 32-vale 4.6L engine. It's even worse if you put aftermarket headers on it the way my car was set up. lol -

I used to have an '03 Mach 1. You're going to need to loosen the motor mounts and put a jack under the front of the oil pain and lift upward to tip the output shaft of the transmission DOWN, which should allow you to access those top bolts and loosen them. What color is your Mach? Mine was Dark Shadow Grey. I know it's still in the area, but haven't seen it in a few years. It'd be funny if you have it now. Also, I have an engine support beam that straddles inner fenders and will support the engine from above, allowing you to drop the K-Member and a host of other things. In fact it will work for precisely the operation you're trying to perform, as that's one of the reasons I had it. You remove the alternator and then attach the beam to the engine block using the same bolts / bolt holes that the alternator was mounted to. The benefit of this engine support beam is that it's safer than using a jack at the front of oil pan as it won't slip and allow the whole thing to come banging down on you. I'd gladly part with the dadgum thing for about $75 if you want it. I have no need for it now. It looks a lot like this:
