The Peter Principle: Promoted to the level of their incompetence.

I know several current and former Asurion employees. Without exception every single one of them hate the place. There is a reason why Asurion cannot easily hire from the Nashville talent-pool anymore: Word has gotten out about how utterly hellish it is to work there. Every single thing that Lagerhead said about them is true. For some departments it is far worse than that, even. Nashville has a job-seeker's market right now for IT positions, so you have countless options other than Asurion to consider. Do yourself a favor and avoid them like the plague. That said, some of what Lagerhead said about Asurion made me laugh in a self-pitying sort of way, because we face that at my company too. Jonathon can attest that I'm telling you the truth. We fight very hard to disconnect from critical incidents where it's been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that our systems are part of the problem, and sometimes we still don't succeed and we still get stuck on those calls for hours on end. I'm trying to correct that as much as I can and this year I'll be a little more ballsy about it. They're going to either have to let me change some things for the better, or fire me. We also deal with some of the same challenges in our change control process. Normally the non-technical people don't push back as hard as what Lagerhead said he put up with at Asurion, but on occasion they do make us question whether they can tie their own shoes or if someone does it for them. I guess what I am saying is this: 1.) Asurion is a cesspool. Don't do that to yourself unless you voted for Obama during both elections. If you did vote for him, I can get you hired over there. You deserve it. 2.) Ineptitude is everywhere. The key is finding the place that compensates you the best for as much of it as you're willing to tolerate. Jonathon and I both work for a pretty good, very large company with a huge IT shop. Reach out to him if you'd like to float your resume around. If you get a job, he can get a bit of a bonus for helping you get placed. :)

Personally I think TGO has beat this into the ground. I'm also pretty sure that were I him, I wouldn't necessarily want my info out there on the Internet. I'm not e-famous the way he is, but it's been done to me because of TGO and it really pissed me off. Not that the information about either of us isn't readily accessible to the people who want to dig, but when people on TGO, blogs, Facebook and other social outlets just beat the issue to death, it does nothing BUT draw more attention to it. You guys might as well light up a spotlight and swing it on his house at this point, because that's effectively what all of these threads are doing.

Our old group (may still be around?) was SMC; Smokey Mountain Cruisers. I know a few guys at work that have FJC's.

There's a bug of some sort at play here. I've disabled the Chat feature until I can get it fixed.

Man! We barely had an FJ/LC group in the area when I had mine a few years ago. That's nice!!!

There's also Topless in Tennessee based out of Dickson that seems to be doing things right. I'll add them to the Mule Town Jeepers that Glowdot recommended earlier. The group that torpedoed Tennessee Jeeps is Jeeps and Wrenches. I'm sure it has grown beyond the core group that started it now and some of their members are fine folks, but that core group was some of the nastiest, most spiteful, back-stabbing bunch of people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They ruined my enjoyment of the "sport" are one of the reasons why I no longer have Jeep of any kind. I sank a lot of time and money into the local Jeep community and for a while there we were doing some really big, well organized things, and then that group got greedy, selfish and ruined the whole thing. There's a few of their founding members that I'd seriously punch in the face if I saw again anytime soon because I firmly believe that people shouldn't be afforded free-range to be nasty and hateful the way they were.

Interesting. I'll check and see what's up. That is actually hosted at the vendor's site, not ours... so dunno.

That's the thing isn't it? But for some reason gun owners have a terrible habit of eating our own. We wish for more gun stores, yet when we get them we find the silliest of reasons to malign them. I'm glad you two got a chance to go out there and check it out.

The easiest thing to do what you're asking about is the Nest camera. https://store.nest.com/product/camera?gclid=CI6jv6HLncoCFYYdgQodAOMIHQ

Deleting a thread takes longer than a person searching to begin with. Just saying.

Obama: Conspiracy Thinking in Our DNA

Nothing that this asshat says any more surprises me. He shocks me at times with his pure audacity, but he doesn't surprise me with the content of his words. -

That or I can nuke the renewal invoice for you. :) -
I think this is overkill and would ruin one of the things people like the most about dealing with fellow TGO members. Why penalize everyone on the off-chance it obscures the fact that someone *might* really be selling so many guns that they should have an FFL? The most I'd consider doing -- if it came to that -- would be removing the description from the feedback entries so that it's just positive or negative.

I saw your PM. I just haven't had a chance to work on it yet. It's fixed now. :)

I am not versed in these things so pardon the dumb question, but are you a K9 handler or how exactly are you able to take the dog on maneuvers? I think it's really cool... just never have seen it done before outside of K9 handlers.

I'm anxious to hear if they (Google) screw him out of his earnings from the YouTube channel. Claiming he violated their TOS could conceivably give them a leg to stand on by refusing to pay out any of the earnings he should receive from them.

Here's the simple take on the whole selling guns as a business thing: It was this way before Obama opened his mouth on Monday, and was just as vague then as it is now in respect to how many guns sold makes you a business. Nothing is any different. I haven't read all of the stuff that Fox News has apparently provided, but I consider them as reliable a source of information about gun laws as I do them a reliable source of unbiased news. I'd take whatever they produce with a grain of salt and go hunt down information from the source. The BATFE link is a good place to begin. Beyond that I'm looking for guidance from the NRA, GOA and other Second Amendment powerhouses.

Guys... one of the members shared this with me. From what I am reading here, the ATF says that there are *zero* provisions for legal home distillation of alcohol.

Different type of tagging, actually. But the new version of IPBoard that we haven't upgraded to yet does support the # hashtag tagging too, for better or worse.

Pending Gun EO Chatter, Update See Post #114
TGO David replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
REALLY good book. Read it recently. History seems to repeat itself! -
Understood. Let me see if maybe there's another way we can do this. IPB supports "tags" so maybe just tagging a thread as a review and then searching for the review tag would work.
