Here, try this out. It is still a work in progress and may change a little (or a lot) before I am really happy with it, but let me know what you think. At the bottom right of the screen click the link that says "Theme" and change it to the one called "TGO Darker".

Yeah. I think we can all agree there are still some things we want to see the new version of the software to do that the old one already did. V4 has been out for over a year now and you'd think they would be closer to parity than they are, but the first year was really pretty bad for the folks who were "early adopters". I'm just glad we waited as long as we did. But, let's not forget that the old version was about to go completely unsupported. It sucks to say we were forced to upgrade, but we essentially were.

The ability for a person who started a thread to lock their own thread was an add-on that hasn't been upgraded to the new version yet. If you click into a forum and look at the threads within it, you can see a counter of replies and views for a thread. example: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/forum/7-handguns/

The Feedback system imported everything that was there before. I don't see a way to get a total count of feedback entries left for a person, but you can go view their profile then click the Feedback tab and see how many pages worth they have. As an example: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/profile/14416-grand-torino/?tab=node_feedback_Feedback

What you see is what we're getting.

It looks good. I'd probably consider parting with my XD-S for one of these.

Is the contrast any better right now? I've darkened some of the background and added some shading. I have a whole other Theme that I am working on behind the scenes but am not ready to release it just yet. But the changes I made this morning *should* provide some relief to those wanting more contrast around the various bits and pieces of the forum.

I'll be posting an update later today and hope to open a pre-ordering session some time this weekend. -
Account has been merged. Tell the software to send you a password reset for the old account and you should be good to go.
-
I can combine the two accounts and will use the email address on THIS one to be the new address. Folks REALLY need to keep their accounts updated with their current email addresses.
-
Clear your browser cookies. Try again. Let me know if it persists. I have *not* seen this happen yet so it may be a bug we need to report to the software authors.

My suggestion is a better way of doing this. Post numbers are not concrete; they can change depending on moderator actions taken in a thread or if a thread is split apart.
-
I was playing around with a feature but decided to go ahead and offer it to Benefactors, Vendors, and Moderators as a perk. You can do when you view your profile now. You're limited to a 64KB photo, which should be sufficient if you do a little editing of your pics offline before trying to upload them.

They say that post previews are coming back in a future release. What they had hoped was that the new editor would make it unnecessary because it is very close to what you see is what you get.
-
I appreciate that. In no way meaning to take you up on that offer, however, it does occur to me that there are probably enough of us who would disarm to enjoy a cold beverage somewhere sometime. Maybe that should become "a thing".

Well it may be unwise to question good fortune, but re-indexing has already completed.
-
Only because of you folks, Mike.

Perspective check! Thanks for reminding me that a lot of things DIDN'T go wrong for me today.

I don't know for certain that it's safe to extrapolate anything from this, but we are already at 12% completion and only 4-hours into the effort to re-index the search database. If this trend continues we might be done with this nasty business as soon as Thursday afternoon.

Saw this post earlier on The Firearm Blog... http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/05/17/movie-magic-magpul-moe-handguard-muzzle-device/ The thing that really cracked me up, though, was this brilliant comment but one of the peanut gallery:

You win! Wait... is that a win? It seems like maybe it's not. Hope all turned out well at both offices.

@Dustbuster It looked a *LOT* like that.

It's not whining... its feedback. Feedback drives improvement, or at the very least conversation. Don't hold back when you have an opinion. I might not act on every suggestion but I guarantee you I consider all of them.
