  1. I'll be posting an update later today and hope to open a pre-ordering session some time this weekend.
  2. Account has been merged. Tell the software to send you a password reset for the old account and you should be good to go.
  3. I can combine the two accounts and will use the email address on THIS one to be the new address. Folks REALLY need to keep their accounts updated with their current email addresses.
  4. Clear your browser cookies. Try again. Let me know if it persists. I have *not* seen this happen yet so it may be a bug we need to report to the software authors.
  5. My suggestion is a better way of doing this. Post numbers are not concrete; they can change depending on moderator actions taken in a thread or if a thread is split apart.
  6. I was playing around with a feature but decided to go ahead and offer it to Benefactors, Vendors, and Moderators as a perk. You can do when you view your profile now. You're limited to a 64KB photo, which should be sufficient if you do a little editing of your pics offline before trying to upload them.
  7. You can still do this via the Sharing icon at the top right of each post.
  8. They say that post previews are coming back in a future release. What they had hoped was that the new editor would make it unnecessary because it is very close to what you see is what you get.
  9. I appreciate that. In no way meaning to take you up on that offer, however, it does occur to me that there are probably enough of us who would disarm to enjoy a cold beverage somewhere sometime. Maybe that should become "a thing".
  10. Well it may be unwise to question good fortune, but re-indexing has already completed.
  11. Only because of you folks, Mike.
  12. Perspective check! Thanks for reminding me that a lot of things DIDN'T go wrong for me today.
  13. I don't know for certain that it's safe to extrapolate anything from this, but we are already at 12% completion and only 4-hours into the effort to re-index the search database. If this trend continues we might be done with this nasty business as soon as Thursday afternoon.
  14. Saw this post earlier on The Firearm Blog... http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/05/17/movie-magic-magpul-moe-handguard-muzzle-device/ The thing that really cracked me up, though, was this brilliant comment but one of the peanut gallery:
  15. You win! Wait... is that a win? It seems like maybe it's not. Hope all turned out well at both offices.
  16. @Dustbuster It looked a *LOT* like that.
  17. Mmm. Beer.
  18. It's not whining... its feedback. Feedback drives improvement, or at the very least conversation. Don't hold back when you have an opinion. I might not act on every suggestion but I guarantee you I consider all of them.
  19. My day started with a visit to TGO around 6:15AM right about which time the forum decided to puke because of a corrupt search index. I worked on that until I absolutely had to walk out the door and head to my job, and then worked on it a bit more for another hour or so between meetings, to get it back online. At one point I literally had to completely obliterate the forum database and restore it from a backup I took right before the outage occurred (premonition???) and even then it looked it it wasn't going to come back online. We've only been around since 2007 and have 25,000+ members and several million posts and private messages. All of which flashed before my eyes a few times while trying like hell to get it to work again. But hey! Here we are! Go, technology! I swear I might become Amish and swear this stuff off one of these days. Until then, there's beer. How was your day?
  20. I appreciate the gratitude more than you may ever know. This week has sucked.
  21. Folks, this sucks and there's no way to sell it any differently. In order to correct a problem that manifested this morning related to our software upgrade last week, I am having to rebuild the search index for TGO. This process takes about 3-5 days to complete. My best guess is that it will be done some time late Friday evening. While this process runs, some of the search features will not work as expected. Namely... The search for New Content / Activity Streams will only show new posts and threads from right now, forward, until the index rebuilds. Once it rebuilds, it will show new content from prior to this moment. Think of it as "temporary amnesia" for the forums. It'll know all of the new stuff it meets between now and when it finishes, but it will not know the old friends from prior. Give it time and it'll start to remember. Likewise searching for content of any sort prior to this moment will be hit-or-miss until the index is rebuilt. I know we just went through all of this last weekend but there was a problem of some sort that finally reared its ugly head this morning and caused our outage. I was able to work around it, but we've got to square off and face this ugly bit of work for a few days to get to a better place. Please bear with us and accept my apologies for the inconvenience. If there were any other way, I'd have taken it.
  22. I only want to know about things that weren't pre-existing to this morning, right now.
  23. Please let me know if you experience any oddities out of the forum after the outage that we had this morning. I believe I have corrected all of the issues that were present prior to us having to go offline for a few hours.
  24. Look, I don't do this very often but I simply am not having this conversation. Tapatalk isn't going back on our server anytime soon. Maybe ever. IPBoard 4 is still fairly new and Tapatalk's development cycle is not in-step with theirs. The problems they caused me during the software upgrade very nearly became catastrophic. I'm sorry that it seems like a big deal from your side of the screen, but it's an even BIGGER deal from my side. I will monitor what Tapatalk does moving forward and may revisit this later, but for now it's a No-Go.
