  1. No idea.
  2. There was no "who is the alpha" conversation taking place. You asked a question that has been answered a few times already. Your fellow members even provided a link back to one of them.
  3. As it should be. I'm not dismissing LAV's service or expertise but I am dismissing his disciples and nut-swingers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'm equally jazzed about being able to finally buy wine in grocery stores. My buddy's company has the exclusive contract for Kroger in Tennessee. All of that stuff goes live on July 1st, so he's been pretty busy and will be for the next month or so. He appreciates your impending wine patronage.
  5. I am not super-excited about Atlanta next year and may skip the NRAAM in 2017 in exchange for going to SHOT. Having the NRAAM in Nashville last year spoiled me, to be honest. I think we have a far superior venue to the Kentucky Center in Louisville and our traffic isn't near as terrible, nor our downtown residents near as ghetto, as Atlanta. Yet.
  6. The folks at IPBoard are releasing an update in the next week or two that will bring a lot of bug-fixes but also add some new features. When I read through the new features list, I saw several things that a few of you have asked about. You can read the release notes for version 4.1.12 at the following link. https://invisionpower.com/release-notes/ Among the things they call out in the release notes are some nice improvements to the Activity Streams feature. You can read up on them at the following link. https://invisionpower.com/news/new-in-4112-improvements-to-activity-streams-and-search-r969
  7. @barewoolf - Good to know. I checked on them last week and they were still an item marked as Coming Soon. I will have to check and see if my folks have their engraving systems set up to accommodate those yet, and if they can get them for me. Might be a good thing to do sometime later this Summer.
  8. Yep, the Chaser Cafe is brand new and wasn't shipping as of a few weeks ago. Is it yet? As soon as those are available via the custom shop that I'm using, I will definitely check into making those available here too.
  9. We've had plenty of people ask about access to the forum from Tapatalk since upgrading to the new version of IPB. We also experienced some extreme difficulty in upgrading our software recently due to what the Invision Power Board company said was a problem with the 3rd party Tapatalk software. After carefully reviewing the log files and speaking with support again, we cannot confirm that their statement regarding Tapatalk being the culprit is accurate. Based on that discovery, I am re-enabling Tapatalk for TGO. You can once again access TGO from your mobile device using Tapatalk if you so desire. I would like to point out, however, that visiting TGO from your mobile web browser and not using Tapatalk is still preferred for several reasons, but we leave the decision of which to use up to you. These are the things we feel like you will be missing out on by using Tapatalk: Tapatalk only shows you what they want you to see. You will not have access to additional features or design elements that are part of the native IPBoard mobile access. Tapatalk does not support nor show you the Trader Feedback ratings of our members. Trader Feedback is a very important part of engaging in buy/sell/trade transactions with our members. It is akin to the feedback ratings on services like eBay or Gunbroker where you can see positive and negative remarks left by our members for our members. Tapatalk does not support our Chat feature. This has proven to be an extremely popular way for our members to interact with each other and we have plans to do "Hosted Chats" in the future at scheduled dates and times. You will not be able to participate in any of those things with Tapatalk. Tapatalk does not support the advanced Tags and Prefixes feature that allows our members to designate a thread as being an item For Sale, For Trade, For Free, Wanted or the designation of a local geographic "Rally Point" such as Chattanooga, Memphis, Knoxville, Nashville, Tri-Cities etc. Tapatalk does not support our Store feature. You must visit the site with your web browser to buy forum swag, Benefactor memberships, etc. Tapatalk will most likely not support any other additional features that we provide on the web site. Things like photo galleries, blogs, advanced buy/sell/trade options, special downloads, etc. Back to point #1 above, Tapatalk only shows you what Tapatalk wants you to see. Continuation of Tapatalk support is entirely provisional. If it presents a problem to the function or delivery of this site or our content again, it will be removed without warning. I appreciate that it is a convenience for our members and will endeavor to keep it available to you, but I cannot and will not allow it to be a defining technology for TGO. I hope that you understand and I appreciate your patience with us.
  10. Did you search? This has already been discussed a few times.
  11. Mmmm, beer. I wasn't meaning to convey any unhappiness towards you, just wanted to make sure that I was putting the brakes on what I felt like was accelerating towards goals I couldn't guarantee I'd hit. Not to say I won't try to do something to make the mobile site easier to use on a smaller screen with a finger-sized pointer device (i.e. your finger) but who knows if I'll be successful or not.
  12. Whoa whoa whoa. We need to reset your expectations, because I'm a team of one doing these software upgrades and modifications, and this is a hobby for me -- NOT a full time job and honestly not even a part time job if you calculate the number of hours I work at it versus what little I "make" (the vast majority of which goes right back into the forum anyway). My day job consists of pissing off software teams like yours, demanding the moon on a budget, pretty much like what you described. You could argue that maybe this is karma in that sense, but I really don't have the resources at my disposal to sit here and go through an iterative process of constant improvement to tweak the software to meet everyone's desires. That's what Invision Power is supposed to be doing, and even they will tell you they don't have that sort of resource pool at their disposal either. Sorry if this seems a bit like I'm venting but every so often I get a glimpse into what I think must be people's perceptions of how TGO operates. I guess I should feel flattered if you hither to thought that we were a big company or something, but seriously, one dude. Me. Doing it between my full time job, time with family, and time I probably ought to be doing other stuff.
  13. Here's a side by side comparison of all four sizes. I also think the RTIC tumblers are a little more ergonomic / easier to hold. I wear a size Medium glove so my hands aren't exactly big, and the Orca 27oz is honestly pushing the limit of what I can wrap my fingers around and keep a good handle on. The RTIC tumblers have a "shoulder" manufactured into them and that makes them a little easier to get good purchase on.
  14. Ok folks, here are some photos of the two 20oz tumblers, the 27oz tumbler and the giant 30oz tumbler. My thoughts on this are that I'd like to offer two sizes. I suppose we could offer three but the 27oz and 30oz are so close to the same size that I just am not sure I see the point in it, but I'll open that matter to discussion. If I were going to buy two of these myself, I would do the two RTIC models: 20oz and 30oz. I really can't tell a difference between the quality of the Yeti and the RTIC. Certainly not for the 100% difference in price. I really like the 27oz Orca, but again the size difference between it and the 30oz RTIC isn't that great but the price difference is more than you would perhaps expect. So speaking of pricing, I am still trying to nail that down with the supplier. So far everything I have bought from them has not had any sort of bulk discount, and I've paid full shipping price per. I think we can drive price down by taking a pre-order, ordering a bunch of them at one time, and get a bulk shipping cost. If we do this, it'll probably be something I do twice a year at most. I wouldn't stock them. Thoughts?
  15. If you have been wanting to buy a Benefactor membership or renew one using PayPal, I have good news for you. We are once again able to process PayPal payments! This feature was not working properly after our forum software upgrade, but has been corrected. Please head over to the TGO Store [link here] for anything you might need, including Benefactor memberships. As a note, we still accept credit card payments via Stripe, so you once again have two options!
  16. I noticed the slower scrolling as well. I'm sure the CSS is way more complex with that theme and the semi-transparency of the layout probably adds even more burden to the device you're viewing from. I need to see about disabling the transparency; I think it might speed it up a lot. Thanks but if the majority here aren't happy, then there's no point in me being happy. I don't want to get into the situation of having built a place that I like but no one wants to visit. Thanks. I do want to make the text a little larger in the darker theme, though. That should be pretty easy to accomplish.
  17. I'm rapidly exceeding my capability of pleasing everyone even part of the time, here.
  18. Here, try this out. It is still a work in progress and may change a little (or a lot) before I am really happy with it, but let me know what you think. At the bottom right of the screen click the link that says "Theme" and change it to the one called "TGO Darker".
  19. Yeah. I think we can all agree there are still some things we want to see the new version of the software to do that the old one already did. V4 has been out for over a year now and you'd think they would be closer to parity than they are, but the first year was really pretty bad for the folks who were "early adopters". I'm just glad we waited as long as we did. But, let's not forget that the old version was about to go completely unsupported. It sucks to say we were forced to upgrade, but we essentially were.
  20. The ability for a person who started a thread to lock their own thread was an add-on that hasn't been upgraded to the new version yet. If you click into a forum and look at the threads within it, you can see a counter of replies and views for a thread. example: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/forum/7-handguns/
  21. The Feedback system imported everything that was there before. I don't see a way to get a total count of feedback entries left for a person, but you can go view their profile then click the Feedback tab and see how many pages worth they have. As an example: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/profile/14416-grand-torino/?tab=node_feedback_Feedback
  22. What you see is what we're getting.
  23. It looks good. I'd probably consider parting with my XD-S for one of these.
  24. Is the contrast any better right now? I've darkened some of the background and added some shading. I have a whole other Theme that I am working on behind the scenes but am not ready to release it just yet. But the changes I made this morning *should* provide some relief to those wanting more contrast around the various bits and pieces of the forum.
