  1. Reportedly some asshats were filling up 55-gal drums in neighboring Maury County. The Sheriff's Dept put out word on social media last night asking folks not to do this as it is very dangerous to transport. So, probably the same folks who have been hoarding .22LR ammo.

    AK Mistake

@btq96r, Yeah I am an AR guy as well. I have years of experience with the AR platform but tragically lost all of my ARs to a freak boating accident and just feel the need to have an AK that I can take with me the next time I go night-fishing or some other risky water sport. God forbid the boat tip over again and I lose another rifle.

    AK Mistake

KahrMan, let's go shopping. I am in the market for an AK [finally] myself. Based on what I have seen, 7.62 is the caliber to get as 5.45 has become increasingly harder to find. Any truth to this?
  4. Wow, they managed to hit it all with that article. Chain smoking, unhealthy, unemployed whackadoodle with an AR-15, up to his ears in debts that he ostensibly isn't paying off, bankrupt, surfs the normal III%'er websites, signed up for the militia, decked his house (impending foreclosure) and raggedy mini-van with security cameras, pulls a "Leonard" and warns the cops that he's coming ahead of time (hoping for a confrontation and a lawsuit I guess), heads to Wal-Mart to tool around on the "Fat Lady Scooter" with his rifle's muzzle precariously stuffed into his shoe, while raiding the "sodas" and junk food aisles, all while scaring the gentle folks. Hell, they even managed to get a picture of him swilling a Coke and sporting a Trump for President T-shirt. I guess they left out the revelation that his wife was also his cousin because then the article would have seemed contrived. No bias in any of that story at all.
  5. Do you remember anything about it at all? Email address? Something? I can merge your old account with the new one.
  6. What was your previous username?
  7. Artificial means like the media.
  8. I contacted the Friends of Sycamore Shoals this morning and here's the answer they provided about time-to-production: We REALLY appreciate your support and that of the people who follow your TNGunOwners site! As to the process once we hit 1,000 pre-orders, our information is that 4 to 6 months would be the period for final approval, visibility testing, production, etc., before distribution. We've got everything ready to go on our end, so as soon as we reach 1,000 we'll turn it in. We're hoping for 4 (or less) rather than 6. If you renew your registration sticker in November, for example, whatever time is left when you get your Gadsden tag will carry over. Nobody will lose what they've already paid for. Feel free to share that with others. We think that we'll hit the 1,000 mark by some point in October. We're averaging about 25 pre-orders per week, and at this moment, we have only 81 left to go! Thanks!!!
  9. I was wondering the same thing. I figure probably a couple of months to get them printed and delivered to the various county clerk's offices. Gut feeling is if they hit 1,000 in September, it would be January or February before we saw them.
  10. The story I am hearing from local folks near me on Facebook is that most of the stations nearby (Spring Hill, Thompson's Station, College Grove) are running low or out. Except for Diesel.
  11. I know it'd be a pain in the butt to do that all the time, and get expensive, but damn I bet it'd be just a little fun too.
  12. An advantage of a 3500 / F350 or larger.
  13. Well, it's by the county for testing and the problems with deleting are, in no real particular order... Warranty EPA can (and apparently will) fine you if they catch you Dealerships won't take one on trade if it's been deleted (see previous)
  14. Because the Media stopped doing journalism years ago and now just generates contents to suit agendas and attract eyeballs to pages. I hate them.
  15. No, the fewer diesels at the pumps the better.
  16. Yep. Local Kroger is out of Regular and Mid-Grade. Premium gasoline was still available an hour ago. Diesel not impacted (thankfully) so far.
  17. Promoting Special Events on TGO Revised September 16, 2016 Do you have an event that you would like to advertise on TNGunOwners.com? Read the following before posting! You would like to take advantage of our reach and exposure to the shooting community, and frankly we might like to take advantage of your event to bring new members to TGO. If your event is deemed to be a good fit for our mission and good for our members, we might be able to work together. We realize that organizers of special events may not require the type of long-term exposure that our Sponsors enjoy. To accommodate these needs, Non-Retail organizations (those not engaged in selling goods or services that would otherwise benefit from being a Vendor / Sponsor of TGO) may promote special events of interest to our members under the following provisions: In exchange for using our web site and community to promote your event, you promote the Tennessee Gun Owners (TGO) community and website in your advertising materials and at your event. We can provide artwork suitable for online and printed media. You allow representatives of TGO to attend your event and set up a kiosk or table to promote our website and community. Are you interested? If so, use the Contact Us form (click the link) and start a conversation with us. Non-Sponsors must contact us and receive approval before posting about your event, however.

  18. Gah.... false alarm and apologies, guys. I found that by squaring them off it was hosing the format on some mobile devices. The theme layout that we use right now assumes rounded avatars so I broke a couple of things by changing it.
  19. Yeah, you had five copies of the address in your profile and somehow the ZIP code was repeated on the street address line as well as the ZIP code field. I've fixed all of that for you. You should be good to go now.
  20. I made a small change to revert back to square profile pics (avatars). Like? Dislike? Indifferent?
  21. Thanks for supporting the site!
  22. Not sure what you mean. Is your mailing address wrong in the system or something?
  23. When you purchase you have the option of selecting a recurring membership IF you want one. You don't have to choose that.
