  1. Good advice on the vacuum sealer.
  2. Update 9/26/2016... I completed the migration to the new server yesterday at around 7:00PM. It undoubtedly took a few hours longer than I had anticipated, but delayed arrival beats never arriving, in my book at least. Performance tuning of the new server is ongoing. I have quite a few things that I intend to change over the days ahead, including moving a lot of our graphics and files over to Amazon S3 cloud-based storage to take advantage of their Content Delivery Network. Basically this means things should speed up even more for us. I also have an upgrade for the forum software that will likely happen sometime today (Monday). If you notice us offline for a while today, that is why. I again want to thank everyone for being patient while I got things moved over to the new server and for your continued patience while I keep tweaking and tuning the new server for the best possible performance. Hopefully the work over the next few days will make TGO an even more enjoyable place to visit.

  4. Working on it still. Be patient.
  5. Thanks. I wouldn't do it if I didn't love TGO!
  6. Oh come on. The way they found this ####bag is that a victim's mother saw the photo, knew immediately who he was, and put the police onto him. The police knew from pretty much "GO" that this guy wasn't Hispanic but the media and bureaucrats practically tripped over their dicks to prostrate themselves before the Arabic population and stick to the narrative that Muslim killers aren't killing people in the United States. Calling him Hispanic was a bull$%!t detour from calling him Middle Eastern, because... Hispanics look like Middle Easterners to NO ONE who has been around either of them. The only way the BOLO could have been more absurd would have been for the police and media to have said, "We are on the lookout for a guy. He's not white. He's not black. He's certainly not Asian. Any of you swarthy races... we're not saying he was one of you but we're not saying he isn't!" And EVERYONE knows that those damn pesky Hispanics have been on a global tear lately, killing people, terrorizing people, blowing #### up, etc. to satisfy the commands of their pedophile prophet, Salazar "Don't Call Me Mohammed" Con Queso El Diablo. Right? I mean, we all know that, RIGHT? It makes perfect sense, right? Hey cops, call off the search for any Middle Easterners carrying rifles down the street and start tossing every Taco Truck you see! Seriously, dude, I can count on you coming into just about any thread and taking a middle-to-left bearing on whatever is being said. I get it. That's your shtick and frankly I am glad you do because it keeps folks on their toes and you don't give people a hall-pass to regurgitate the Fox News narrative. But really, you looked at that photo and thought anything other than, "Goat F'ker" ?
  7. Update... Timing for the start of this, currently, looks to be around late-morning to early afternoon. 11:00AM - 1:00PM Central.
  8. I am really late to the meat-smoking game but I am wanting to dive in. For a variety of reasons, convenience likely being at the top of the list, I have decided to go with a wood pellet smoker instead of lump charcoal. I have looked at all of the common brands and will likely either go with a Green Mountain or a Smoke Daddy grill. I'd like to get a Yoder but they are about $500-600 outside of the amount I want to spend, and not readily available locally as far as I have seen. So my primary question for you guys with experience on pellet smokers is this: Should I buy the largest model I can, pay the price, and cry once? Or should I go smaller depending on intended use? Green Mountain has the Daniel Boone which has a 27x16" grilling grate, and they have the Jim Bowie which has a 40x16" grate. I know larger grills consume pellets faster, and will likely never smoke a whole turkey preferring only turkey breast. Most of the smoking I will do will be pork butt, turkey breast, chicken breasts, maybe a pizza occasionally, etc. We aren't really a "ribs" family which may seem odd. Smaller seems better to me, but maybe I am not thinking this through
  9. @Allen1, you'd have no shortage of people wanting to buy your Glock 19.
  10. I love my M&P 40 and have not been kind to it. It's been with me now for about 10 years, I guess, and was one of the first production run M&P's that Smith and Wesson made. It is a freak of nature and has an amazingly good trigger. Glock-like. I haven't taken it swimming, but I have no reason to. My M&P 45 is stupendously accurate and had a pretty damn good trigger out of the box that I made better with Apex parts. It now feels freakishly 1911-like. I should shoot it more than I do, but I don't. I may list it for sale soon. Someone will get a great shooter if they buy it. That said, every M&P 9mm I have ever held, from the earliest to the most recent, has had an absolutely TERRIBLE trigger. I don't get it. I am sure there are some freak of nature 9's out there just like my 40 that feel wonderful, but damned if I am going to buy dozens of them to find the Holy Grail. Two was enough for me. Neither of them felt good. I sold one, kept the other. I wanted to love an M&P 9mm and relegate my Glock 19s to the safe, but I just couldn't. The Glock 19 remains my go-to, but the Sig P320 is gaining ground on it every time I shoot it. Military Arms Channel liked the P320 and it did great in their torture test.
  11. Sorry about the Schweddy Balls. Good luck with the hunt!
  12. I hear what you're saying about profiling, but folks have really let the leftists turn that into a bad word. We all profile, and we are all profiled. It's a viable, valuable tool. But I digress! The facial features don't look like those commonly shared by Hispanics any more than I look like Mike Tyson. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just bad camera footage, but this guy's appearance in this photo doesn't fit their narrative in my opinion.
  13. Woke up this morning to reports of the shooting at the Cascades Mall in the Seattle, WA area. Then I saw the security camera footage of the perp and the claims from law enforcement and the media that he appears to be Hispanic. Does that guy look Hispanic to you? Because he doesn't look Hispanic to me. He looks like a young Arabic male. I'm not saying that the officials and media out there are tripping over themselves to avoid calling it another act of Islamic terror, but I might be thinking it.
  14. Just making sure you all see this... On Sunday, September 25, 2016 I will be moving the TGO web site to a newer web server. When I do this, there will be a complete service interruption of a few hours. This move will change our site's IP address which means that you all will slowly begin regaining access to the site as your Internet provider's DNS servers update with the new address. If that sounds like Greek to you, just know that it could take anywhere from 1 to 24 hours or so depending on how aggressively your Internet provider updates its records. We have zero control over this, unfortunately, so there is no way for me to speed up that process. Why is this happening? Web servers, much like your computer at home, run an operating system that eventually becomes "end of life" and requires replacement. Think about when Microsoft retired Windows XP and told everyone that it was time to upgrade to Windows 7, otherwise they would stop supporting you. Well, very similar in this case also. Our current web server has taken care of us since 2011, but it is time to move to a new one. I have already moved a few other web sites to the new server and it is doing fine, so I predict no problems with moving TGO. However, TGO is undoubtedly the largest horse in the stable so I am going to be taking extra care to move it. While some performance improvements are possible as a result of this move, that is not the primary motivation. The real improvements for performance are planned for after I get us moved. More on that is to come. I'm going to go through withdrawals! A lot of us will. Be sure to keep tabs on our Facebook page and our Twitter feed while the move is underway. I will post updates on both of those places as I can while I work. If you don't already follow us on those two social media outlets, you can click below and then add them to your bookmarks. TGO Facebook Page TGO Twitter Feed So when exactly does this start? I am not sure of the exact start time yet. You'll know when you see the site go offline and our maintenance notice go up. Just check back in a little while after that happens and you'll eventually be able to sign back into TGO and participate in the forums. Thanks for your patience!

  17. Randall; There are no words. Many of us have tried our best to provide some, but there simply are none that will heal the pain or soften the crushing blow that your family has been delivered. The best we can do is offer our sympathies, grieve with you, and offer our prayers to the One who can heal your pain and will strengthen you so that this doesn't crush you forever. I pray that God will hold you in His arms, keep you, give you strength and give you peace in the time ahead. Reach out to the folks here on TGO, your friends outside of here, and keep your own spirits up. Let us know what we can do to help. --David
  18. We can do this.
  19. If you didn't take advantage of this group buy, go ahead and kick yourself...
  20. Glock 19.
  21. Yep. We could hit 1,000 this week if just some of the "fence sitters" would commit. Spread the word, folks!
  22. Wow. Yeah so... that mini gun sliding around.
  23. Agreed!!!
