  1. Folks; I am going to quickly move us over to a different realtime chat feature on TGO. The team at InvisionPower have decided to abandon their native Chat product and discontinue all support for it next year. They are recommending that forums adopt CometChat due to superior integration with IPBoard and good support from both companies. I've taken them up on their recommendation and bought a license for CometChat. Soon you will find the Chat feature is accessible at the bottom right-hand side of every screen on TGO. I also understand that it integrates very nicely with Tapatalk which is a bonus for fans of that platform. Further, the license that I bought allows for unlimited participants which is quite an improvement over the maximum occupancy of 20 that we have currently. Be on the watch for this change on TGO. https://invisionpower.com/forums/topic/433639-ips-chat/#comment-2662274
  2. We drove across the Smoky Mtns twice this past week to and from Asheville, NC. Most recently, yesterday. The smoke was pretty thick even near I-40. Quite the shame.
  3. Welcome to TGO, Ben!
  4. Just received word that Everything Weapons is expecting some HK VP9's in soon and will be selling them for $559.99 as part of their "door buster" (pun intended) to help generate some revenue after the recent break-in and upcoming repairs.
  5. Agree with looking at the FN 45's also! I took a very long hard look at the FN FNX-45 Tactical before I ultimately bought a Gen4 Glock 21. For me it simply boiled down to cost. The FNX-45 Tactical is about $1,000 which is easily 1911 territory. The Glock 21 Gen 4, even with a threaded barrel, was just slightly more than half that.
  6. You get more capacity with the Glock 21 than you do the M&P unless you run the extended mag in the M&P. For a nightstand gun, I would want the most mag capacity I could reliably facilitate. Glock has 13rds, M&P has 10rds. Extended M&P mag is 15rds. Taran Tactical makes a machined aluminum mag extender for the Glock that takes it to 17rds.
  7. I have both. It's a toss-up really, as far as feel / fit in hand when you run the small backstrap on the M&P and no backstrap on the Glock.
  8. I have been REALLY wanting to try some Japanese whiskeys lately. How is it?
  9. Your description makes it sound like you don't value opinions born from long-term experience.
  10. I received an email from David Cooper this morning. The store re-opens today. M&P Shields for $369.99 in both 9mm and .40SW.
  11. Don't ask, don't tell. They have no legal right to demand a copy of your HCP. If someone willingly complies, it's because honest people want to be honest. Which in this case would be dumb. Do they keep a copy of your driver's license in the event that you want to park a car on their property?
  12. Loaded 100 more in the TGO store. Stickers didn't arrive yet but should tomorrow.
  13. Wife and I chose the form of the Destructor this afternoon. Same experience as @jgradyc. Walked in, voted, walked out.
  14. USPS is supposed to be dropping more off to me today, actually. Will update the store when they arrive.
  15. Hahaha... we probably agree on a lot of things.
  16. This really sums up my thoughts as well. I'm glad to see another AR option. The timing is right for them since the panic buying will set in soon if things go poorly this election and they'll probably sell all of them that they can make if they get them out there ASAP. But the marketing, while nice to look at, had an unusual amount of hype for what resulted.

  18. I don't know if the landowner would allow it, but I certainly would have bollards in front of my stores for the sake of security.
  19. UGH! I hate thieves. Photos from WSMV's coverage follow. The story says that three masked suspects ransacked the store after smashing a stolen minivan through the front. If you know anything, obviously contact the Brentwood TN police department.
  20. Let's see if the problem resolves itself. I had to reboot the server a few minutes ago. A few scripts had failed to complete running earlier and caused a problem.
  21. Seems that most of those describe me. Except for the over 65 part. Maybe I'm an old fart in a middle-aged body.
  22. Oh wow. I am just seeing this for the first time, so my apologies for not responding sooner... but that thing is BEAUTIFUL.
  23. The XD is not a terrible platform at all. The ergos are good and I've never had one that didn't go bang when I wanted it to. It's obviously a more complex design than, say, a Glock.. but more parts in a gun do not necessarily mean that it will be any less reliable.
  24. Definitely not just you... it's loading significantly faster. Thanks for the positive feedback; I really appreciate it.
  25. Rick and Morty, FTW.
