  1. I figured I'd wait and let you discover that on your own.
  2. Here's the prototype! I am really digging the new flip-top lid that they put on this to minimize spilling since it's for hot beverages. I am going to put them up for pre-sale on the TGO store this evening so that folks can order this week. We want all orders in by Friday, December 2nd in order to have them back in our hands in a reasonable time, so this order window is going to be really short. Front Back Flip-top Open Flip-top Closed
  3. I figure I should start this thread for folks who don't like change, because I just totally changed the way the forum looks.
  4. Got a 9lb Boston Butt going on a long slow smoke overnight tonight. The neighbors are getting hungry right now and probably have no idea why. The smoke is hanging in the air all around.
  5. I just haven't found much of anything that I want to spend money on this Black Friday. I think that's a good sign.
  6. The injection marinade I made used Tabasco also. I cut the salt, Worcestershire and Tabasco amounts in half though. Salty things because I brined it overnight and didn't want it to be too salty. Tabasco because some of my in-laws don't like very spicy foods. Recipe here: http://www.food.com/recipe/beer-n-butter-poultry-injection-241052
  7. I need to post a tutorial on this. I'll work on that some. Fixed the pic again though.
  8. Fixed that pic for you. Got my smoker coming up to temp right now. Applewood, bit of cherry and a bit of hickory. Spatchcocked 9lb turkey breast brined overnight, injected with a beer and butter marinade this morning, rubbed down with the Simon & Garfunkel wet rub this morning (Google it) and about ready to put it on the grate for the next few hours.
  9. MAN UP and pay shipping!
  10. I'm with you. I would rather do a pork butt but "tradition". I'm ready to do a pork butt or brisket next week though!
  11. Started off smoking some mac and cheese. The bird goes on tomorrow morning for dinner tomorrow night! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Thanks, Greg! You bet I will. She's been my work-assistant all day today so plenty of attention has gone her way.
  13. Folks; I wanted to go ahead and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving as we head into the evening. This holiday some of you may be traveling. Others may be spending the weekend at home. Hopefully you find yourselves surrounded by people that you care about, whether they be friends, family, brothers in arms, or fellow emergency services crew. Whatever you're doing, I hope that you stay safe and have much to be thankful for. And since this is a firearms forum and since we think about and talk about things like this, if you are out and about this weekend... please be vigilant. As the saying goes, keep your head on a swivel if you are out at the movies, at the shopping malls, or anywhere else that there are large crowds. Watch what's going on around you and trust your instincts if something feels wrong or out of place. By all means, if you are able, carry your sidearm. And give serious thought to carrying some sort of personal first aid kit. If you've never considered the latter, maybe spend some time this weekend putting together something that would easily fit into a pocket, purse, satchel or backpack. Again, I hope you all stay safe and have time to reflect on the blessings in your own life. Hooray for the holidays and God bless. --David
  14. It really sucks to lose that much food but I don't think I would chance it. Today was a warm day so those very likely got above 40-degrees and that's when bacteria starts doing their thing. The only way to be safe would be to cook each until internal temperature was above 165 degrees Fahrenheit (USDA spec is 160* for pork and 165* for turkey) and I would suspect that as both of those are already cooked, that would just ruin them further.
  15. Best advice is to watch as many videos as you can with similar setups to get a feel for how it is going to sound. The smaller muffler will almost always be louder than the larger muffler, of course.
  16. I have my limits. I'm not that much of a eco-weenie.
  17. That's what I do but it's rather wasteful.
  18. The one thing stopping me from doing that is it won't fit under the coffee makers at work. We use those single-serve things.
  19. You're not kidding about the insulation on these things.
  20. ORDER NOW HERE: If you missed out on the TGO Logo Stainless Tumbler group buy earlier this year, or participated and want something for your hot drinks during the Winter months, you might be interested in this: I am going to do a group buy of Orca Chaser Cafe 20oz coffee mugs with the TGO emblem laser engraved on them, just in time for Christmas. We just need at least 25 of them to sell in order to make it worthwhile and keep the price reasonable. The Cafe mugs themselves sell for about $39 in stores but I can get them laser engraved for us and sell them for about $48.00 each. Sure, TGO will make a few bucks in the process but that will go toward me paying my kids to pack them up and haul them to the post office for me. They nearly rioted with the 100+ that we had to box up, label and ship last time. The following are mock-up artwork. I have a prototype coming but I'd like to get this ball rolling as quickly as possible so that we can give them the 10-15 days they need to produce them, ship them, and me mail them back out in time for Christmas. As before postage for USPS First Class "Shoe Box" shipping for quantities 1-2 and the cost will be around $7.00 - $8.50 depending on where you are and whether it's just one or two in the box. The most expensive rate at $8.50 was sending one to Seattle, WA just to get an idea of what the outer limit of cost was going to be. So unless you live in Alaska or Hawaii you should be within that range. Again... $48.00 for one of these bad boys. If you are interested, please vote in the poll and feel free to reply in the thread. As a reminder, Orca is located right here in Nashville. The engraver is not, however, so it takes some time to get these shipped back and forth. Updated with actual photos! I am really digging the flip-top lid with seal since this is a coffee cup!
  21. I really cannot decide between the PSA MOE rifle and the Century C39V2 MOE. Thankfully I don't feel rushed to make a decision, so I am going to ponder it some more until one of the two ends up in my possession.
  22. I have seen several things from Invision Power lately that make me wonder what they're thinking. The core forum software is improving, though, so I am still relatively happy.
  23. I have initiated a refund request with the authors of the Comet Chat software. I agree with you guys that it is not something I like nor is it something I want to continue using. Sadly that puts us in the position of having to find another option since the IPB Chat feature is going away regardless. More to come.
  24. The 92 is iconic for sure, and has sleek Italian lines... but c'mon... you mean this doesn't make your trousers a little snug?
  25. An amp you might like, just a hair above your price range, is the Line 6 Spider15. It's a digital modeling amp so you can get a variety of sounds out of it which make learning even more fun. It can get plenty loud too. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/line-6-spider-iv-15-15w-1x8-guitar-combo-amp
