  1. Buuuuuuut.... back to more relevant things. Has anyone seen one of these in a store yet or heard of an official ship-date? All of these various blog postings and videos claim that might see them in stores around Christmas, but honestly I was surprised to hear that anyone would have them available that far in advance of SHOT Show 2017. Most of these new toys tend to release around the same time frame as the show.
  2. That's not really what the words you typed conveyed in your first post. You accused me and others in the thread who are excited to get our hands on this thing and test it out, of prematurely declaring it the next best carry gun ever, which is not what any of us said to begin with. And now I'm somehow the bad guy because I pointed that out, and as a result I am stifling opposing viewpoints. That is ridiculous. Maybe this decline in traffic that you claim exists (we're actually pretty busy!) is because of the kind of thing you posted originally. Just throwing that out there as a possibility. There's no reason to go Full Snowflake about me having my own opposing viewpoint, right? Or is that not allowed either? I mean, I guess it's never been allowed according to some of our past members who also felt like I should shut my face because the act of me stating an opinion of my own was an egregious abuse of some supposed power that I have. Really man, it gets old hearing it.
  3. Can I drop yours off to you? I have to pass by your office today after lunchtime.
  4. Update 12/19/16... These are supposed to be delivered tomorrow (Tues 12/20). I am going to try like mad to get them out in the mail to you all by Thursday, which gives me two evenings to try and package everything up and get them sent out. Is there anyone who was using theirs as a Christmas gift? If so, I will do my utmost to prioritize those so they get sent out first.
  5. Did anyone in this thread say that it is the next best carry gun? I think criticizing the enthusiasm in this thread was a bit premature.
  6. lol... shiny chrome pistolas all look the same to me.
  7. It's the young whippersnapper descendent.
  8. Tauruses.
  9. Yeah now I want one even more. One of our vendors needs to hurry up and get one so that they can take my money.
  10. Literally every defensive handgun class I have ever taken teaches you to manipulate the slide release with an overhand (aka "saddle") grip from your support hand once a fresh mag has been inserted. They don't teach you to rely on the slide release lever or this so-called auto forward stuff. Basically you want to make it fool-proof and integrate it into your overall system of shooting, consistently, no matter what handgun you are using. To date, it's never failed me. I can see where expecting a slide to auto-forward could cause problems if you were under stress and it didn't do what you were expecting it to do. Nothing's louder than silence when you're expecting your gun to go bang, or vice versa.
  11. A lot of guns do that but it is not what I would consider to be a "feature" but a byproduct of an easily jostled slide release. If you think about it, you pull down on a slide release. Pushing a mag UP into the grip would not cause the slide release to bump DOWN. All that is happening is that the impact of the action of slamming a magazine in is jostling the slide release just enough to cause it to disengage. You could do the same thing without a mag in the grip, chamber empty, by slamming the gun down onto it's grip on a hard surface.
  12. The more I read about this handgun and the more videos that I see featuring it in the hands of test and evaluation reviewers, the more interested I become. Actually, I am very interested in getting my hands on one of them and trying it out. I have funds squirreled away to purchase one when they land in stores, if they feel as good in the hand as everyone is saying they do. This is the most recent review I have seen on YouTube and of note is a comment that the reviewer made that this gun yielded faster, more accurate shooting in the hands of several other shooters who all have Glock 19s as their every-day carry.
  13. Resident fanboy? Is this a recent thing? C'mon. Pretty sure I was toting an M&P before you ever bought one, bubba. You were a strict adherent to the wheel-gun religion. I'm glad to see you diversified!
  14. I will never eat Christmas turkey at your house.
  15. If a vehicle pulls out in front of me and I slam into the side of their car, regardless of where I hit them, it's their fault for pulling out in front of me. I still say that just generally speaking everything you keep writing indicates that you live with a mindset where nothing is the consequence of your own doing and everything can be rationalized as the universe conspiring against you. Until you realize that actions have consequences, you're going to have a hard time climbing out of the rut that you've found yourself in. And I hate that for you! There is a lot about your current circumstance that is completely within your control, and while bettering it won't be easy it will be completely worth it. I'm rooting for you, but I am dismayed by the undertones in what I keep reading. I hope you're able to get things squared away.
  16. I could actually smell the scent of stale popcorn mixed with spilt overly-syruped fountain drinks hanging in the air as I read it. Two thumbs up!
  17. This is wisdom born of experience and maturity.
  18. You can pick up Maker's 46 (from the folks at Maker's Mark) in a fifth. You should try that next if you haven't already.
  19. Agree with the above.
  20. $60 is a smoking deal on this. Folks really need to take advantage!
  21. Welcome back. Sorry to hear about the parents, but congratulations on the grandson. The circle of life is a wonderful and terrible thing!
  22. I am regretting my decision a little.
  23. IPB did away with post numbers at the end of the V3 software. They were problematic whenever threads would get merged, posts would get deleted, etc. Instead they now use the permalink concept where you can use the "Share This Post" link at the top right of any post to reference it in another post.
  24. Going to give you some advice that may seem somewhat unsolicited, but maybe you were hoping folks would offer some? Anyway... I think your problems, or at least the past ones, stem from two major things: Impatience (leading to anger) and lack of resolve to see something through to completion. Thematically, the experiences that you described were short-lived and terminated by your own hand. A few of them you rationalized were out of your control, but you still ended them yourself: Fired from one job for throwing a pizza Didn't have the resolve to run a kitchen job (sober) Wasn't easy to find time to exercise while working a prison job, so you didn't Nursing education didn't work out for undisclosed reason Phlebotomy education didn't work out because you didn't prep enough to pass the exams So my advice is this: Sack up. Life isn't easy. Hard work and perseverance will take you past where talent or natural gifts (such as academics coming easy) let off. There's nothing wrong with bouncing around between things while you figure out what makes you happy, but there's a nothing right about giving up prematurely or blaming outcomes on circumstance. You are the master of your own destiny. Make your own "luck". Find something in life and stick with it past the point of your own comfort, just to prove to yourself that you can and so that you discover that "comfort" is a state of mind and therefore something that you control. Just some honest talk from someone who was restless in his 20's and thankfully had someone sit him down and talk to him like this. I hope you get it all figured out.
  25. Geez... I thought it was but I wasn't sure. Ok, look, here's the deal: I set you up with a Benefactor account that will expire at the end of December. If you want to renew at the end of that time, it would be appreciated. If not, I won't bother trying to help next time around. Merry Christmas.
