Glimpse at the new Classifieds Feature
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
Pic #5: This last view shows you how the Classifieds posts show up inside of the new activity search. Not only do you see forum posts but you also see items that have been added to the Classifieds. Also, anything posted to the Classifieds system will automatically create a new thread in one of the existing Trading Post forums! This way people using Tapatalk will be sure to see the new items as well. So that's how the thing works. What do you all think? Good? Bad? -
Hey guys. It's been a busy January for me, but I have managed to get the new Classifieds system installed behind the scenes and am on the verge of unveiling it to the public. I wanted you guys to see it first to give me some feedback. Unfortunately there's no way to give you actual access to it without everyone else seeing classifieds items popping up in their newsfeed, so here are some screen shots to give you an idea of how it will work. To view these pictures larger, you can right click on them and open them in a new tab. Pic #1: This shows where the menu item for the Classifieds section would show up on screen. One thing to note about the menu bar at the top of the page is that it will consolidate the last few links to the right if your screen resolution is not sufficient to show them all. When it consolidates them, it rolls the remaining links up into a menu item called "More". Pic #2: This is the landing page of the Classifieds system. At the top of the page are blocks for What's New (which would show recently added items) and Expiring Soon (which would show ads that are near the end of their campaign length). Below that is the list of categories similar to what you'd see on the home page of the forum where it lists all of the sub-forums. Pic #3: This is what pops up when you start to create a new advertisement. It provides a list of the Categories and asks you which one you're going to place the ad into. Pic #4: This is a view of all of the options that you get to choose from when you are crafting your ad. In this example you can see that I was creating a fictional ad for an M&P M2.0 9mm handgun and was setting the price for it at $495. You can add (or omit) information about where the item is located, choosing whether or not to just list the city and state, or also include a street address. The street address info would be helpful for a Vendor who has a storefront, obviously. You can also indicate whether you want to Allow Offers on the price, and you can allow the software to Notify you when questions are made about the ad. The latter is like subscribing to a thread in the normal forums where you get a notification sent if someone responds. You can also add images directly to your ad, and an ad can have a maximum of 10 images. The ad also has questions about the item you are selling. Some of them are required (as indicated) and others are optional. Obviously if you're selling a backpack or a tree stand, you won't be listing the caliber. You also get an option of Packages Available when posting your ad. This is a new thing! You can either go with the standard ad that runs for 45 days at no additional charge beyond what you paid as a Benefactor, or you can "Feature" your ad for 10-days for a very small cost. Featured ads stay pinned to the top of the Classifieds section and are among the first things people see.

Nix what I just said. I know why now. The test installation of the forum (on another server) was sending those out because... you guys haven't ever logged into it. I've turned it off.
-
I have no idea why you guys are getting those but a new version of the software is pending soon, so maybe this is a glitch they'll fix. I have no control over it. Sorry.

Yeah I mean, look at all of the trouble the military already has with pink camo, rainbow camo, and all of the other LGBT equipment demands.
-
Order one online, right now! It still "counts".

I love my P320 Compact. Great gun. This will undoubtedly make it even more popular as the .MIL fanboys pile onto the bandwagon.
-
Or HK 45's or M&P 45's or...
-
Ah, the A/C Cobra roadster. Impeccable taste. I am very sorry to hear about his situation. Prayers, indeed.

Nice! It's surprising how little issue there really is with maneuverability of a full-size carbine inside close quarters. Short barrel rifles do have a bit of an advantage, but it's not near as constricting to run a full size carbine as some folks might think.

I'm glad that S&W has made some incremental changes but you can count me among those who won't be rushing to buy one. The three Gen 1's that I own presently are sufficient and I don't see myself switching back to a full-size M&P anytime soon for carry purposes. And to think that about 6-7 years ago I was a die-hard M&P fanboy. My Glock 19 sees more action than anything else I own, and close behind it are my P320 and VP9. Other than the CZ P-10C due out any day now, I don't see myself rushing to own another handgun anytime soon.

Not that I am aware of.

I'll check and see what may have been different about the 6-month. Thanks for supporting the site!

My experience has been that the mass-produced holsters aren't going to give you the best combination of function, fit and quality. Your quickest bets for quality holsters are going to be made of Kydex and come from someone like these folks... http://www.comp-tac.com http://www.squaredawaycustoms.com https://www.trex-arms.com http://www.furycarrysolutions.com http://www.ravenconcealment.com If you want leather, there are quite a few folks out there producing them as well but my favorite is TT Gunleather. http://www.ttgunleather.com

Huh. Personal preference I guess. It's good stuff for the price. Try Buffalo Trace the next time you've got $25 in your pocket.

Check your customer profile in the Store area. You probably have a Invoice waiting for you that you can pay from. https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/clients/purchases/

I do not have Java installed on any of my machines and these features work.

I admit it. I mocked it at first, was skeptical at best, but the more that I consider it the more I want to try it out.

What I've read is that the only things shipped to very select dealers have been T&E (test and evaluation) copies. CZ intended for this to be available to distributors and dealers after SHOT. I am pretty sure the only reason we've already seen the M&P M2.0 available is because several national retailers goofed and released the photos of them early, and S&W decided to just capitalize on it and get them out there sooner rather than later.

I'm just curious: Who here's had the flu in the past couple of weeks? And who of you that did, also had gotten a flu shot? I came down with it last Saturday and was incapacitated for the first three days, and have worked from home since, dealing with the remainder of it while it claws and fights and tries not to leave. I'm still not "over" it. My wife and daughter both caught it pretty quickly after I did and neither of them are as far along in recovery process as I am.

That account had been around for a while, so I'm surprised it just got used. Nuked it and everything it had sent/posted.

Some Upcoming TGO Improvements and Changes (January 2017)
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
I am trying to put the final polish on the improved Classifieds system. I am probably going to run it in parallel with the old way of doing classifieds for a few days just to get some feedback from you all before I make a complete switch. Stay tuned!
