  1. Since my epiphany with my M&P M2.0 9mm, it has become my go-to for concealed carry. It will likely remain my go-to until I receive the Mike's Special IWB holster that I ordered for my CZ P-10C from TT Gunleather earlier this week. It'll probably be late July or early August before I receive that holster, so I will have plenty of time at the range to continue getting to know the CZ in the meantime.
  2. Nice Osprey! And those wait times are seriously the stupidest thing ever.
  3. It's taken way longer than he said it would, unfortunately. Quote was 4 weeks. I'm sitting at nearly 8.
  4. Ya'll are some comedians aren't you?
  5. This is an interesting read... Source: http://americansuppressorassociation.com/hearing-protection-act-language-incorporated-into-comprehensive-sportsmens-package/ Since the re-introduction of the Hearing Protection Act by Rep. Duncan and Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) in January (H.R. 367, S. 59) the American Suppressor Association (ASA) has met with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on multiple occasions to discuss technical amendments to the language. As a result, we were able to create several technical amendments that were incorporated into the current draft of the SHARE Act. These include: Sec. 1702: Removing suppressors from the National Firearms Act, subjecting them to the same instant NICS background check as long guns, and issuing a refundable tax credit to anyone who has purchased a suppressor since the HPA’s original date of introduction Sec. 1703: Ensuring that suppressors will remain legal in all 42 states where they are currently legal, after suppressors are removed from the National Firearms Act Sec. 1704: Preempting states from levying taxes or registration requirements on suppressors. However, this will not make suppressors legal in any state where state law currently prohibits them. Sec. 1705: Granting the ATF 365 days to destroy all suppressor related records from the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record (NFRTR) Sec. 1706: Developing a “keystone part” definition, and requiring that such keystone part is serialized on every suppressor. This will ensure that individual suppressor parts, like pistons and endcaps, will not require serialization. Sec. 1707: Imposing a 10% Pittman-Robertson excise tax on the manufacture of each new suppressor, a tax that is currently imposed on all Title I firearms “The inclusion of the Hearing Protection Act in the sportsmen’s package highlights the commitment of the Sportsmen’s Caucus to make the hunting and recreational shooting experiences safer and more enjoyable for all,” said Knox Williams, President and Executive Director of the American Suppressor Association. “We know for a fact that exposure to noise from recreational firearms is one of the leading causes of hearing loss, which is why the CDC, NIOSH, and the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) have all recommended using suppressors as a tool to mitigate the danger. We look forward to working with the Sportsmen’s Caucus to make this legislation a reality.” More available at the linked source.
  6. While not professionally lead training, I feel that this falls into the category of "Knowledge" therefore I humbly share it with you. Earlier this year I made another foray into the world of the Smith & Wesson M&P series. I have owned numerous of them over the years and always liked them for not being Glocks, and the new M2.0 design piqued my interest. I've found it to be an excellent blaster, but still couldn't quite figure out why it wasn't as natural for me to shoot as other handguns are. And I *really* wanted it to be. For as long as I can remember I have opted to run the Small sized palm-swell on the M&P 9mm and .40SW as they allowed me to more easily manipulate the mag release without breaking my grip. I have also found it challenging to refrain from pulling my shots to the left (not low-left, just left) unless I paid careful attention to where my finger went on the trigger. This past weekend I made an assessment and then made a change. The assessment being: Statistics show that the vast majority of shootings involving LEO or Civilians do not involve magazine changes. The M&P 9mm carries 17+1 rounds. It is more important for immediate proper trigger-finger placement than it is to keep my grip perfect during a mag change. The Medium size palm-swell perfectly positions my trigger-finger every time. After swapping to the larger Medium palm-swell, my shots were 100% where I wanted them, every single time, immediately from a draw. Additionally, I am able to get more purchase on the grip with my support hand, aiding in what is already an incredibly flat shooting 9mm. This may seem like a trivial thing or an obvious foregone conclusion, but consider also that I have been shooting for over 30 years now, have been carrying a handgun for over 15 years, have attended numerous classes, attend the range at least twice a month (frequently more) and have used the M&P platform since it was released in the mid 2000's. NONE of this is new or even a revelation to me, but it demonstrates how we can become so myopic in our own thinking that we might disregard an obvious solution with an elementary challenge with our equipment. The M2.0 is now one of my primary carry weapons and has finally edged out my Glock 19 for regular duty. Lesson Learned: Be brave enough to experiment on the range where your life doesn't depend on it. You might discover something surprisingly simple yet extremely effective and it could save you from spending money needlessly.

  8. I had the chance to hold one of these this morning and watch a gentleman fire it at the range. It was nice. I think the beavertail really could have been made better if they'd have given it a slight curve upward a la most 1911's in the world, but it was otherwise a very fine specimen. He didn't seem to like the factory sights very much, but admitted it was due to his eyesight. That front blade is VERY thin.
  9. Yeah, I have a medium grip module out with Alex at http://sgarmory.com/ for his Stage-1 frame package (stippling, undercut) and should have it back this next week as long as everything stays on schedule. I am hoping that the extra texture to the grip helps me lock it down tighter as it's the only handgun I own that I cannot really maintain an immovable grasp upon. I would like to eventually find a size Large grip module and see if that makes any difference as well.
  10. I don't know how I have never heard of the Shield RMS before now, but I am very impressed based on what I have read this morning. Nice!
  11. I started another thread, but it is awesome. You guys got a dud or something.
  12. So as the kids these days are prone to say, a thing has occurred... or rather, "I did a thing".
  13. I think even if we assume that the Unlikely occurs and EU nations do loosen firearms restrictions, it can only help the firearms industry. The current market conditions are abysmal for most manufacturers who were convinced that Hillary Clinton would win the US Presidency last November, and could sure use an injection of adrenaline to bolster their financial bottom lines. Europe already has some really good firearms manufacturers, who undoubtedly would see a rise in their own sales. But I do think American "imports" to the EU would be extremely beneficial for all of us. Any shortages would be short-term.
  14. I may pick up a compact model at some point. I really just need to see how well the frame I have coming back mitigates muzzle flip. I don't know if maybe I really need a Large frame instead of Medium, but I know that I have to focus harder on not letting the muzzle flip as much with my P320 than I do with my VP9, M&P or my Glock 19.
  15. That is a beautiful machine!
  16. Here's an interesting development: I noticed two days ago on the IPBoard support forum that the 3rd Party author of the Classifieds software has transferred it to another 3rd Party author and will no longer be updating it himself. He stated that due to a new job and other obligations, he no longer has the time to develop it or support it and hopes that this new guy will better be able to keep on top of things. I know you all feel that we made the right decision, and I already felt that we made the right decision because it simplified my own life a lot by not having to worry about a 3rd Party application not sending email properly, but now we all know that we made the right decision. This certainly explains some things!
  17. I really want to get my hands on a 509 soon. I just ordered a CZ P-10C and am expecting it either this weekend or early next week, but the 509 is definitely on my radar and is something I'd like to check out as well. Everything I've read about them is good, very good. The only minor complaint I've seen was a minor one about how complicated the firing pin assembly was. As long as it is reliable and goes bang every time you pull the trigger, I don't see how that really matters much either.
  18. Got to admit that the P320C X5 is really appealing to me these days.
  19. Thank God for those removable backstraps! I have the setup to do stippling with a temperature controlled burner, but just haven't been able to work up the actual desire or find the time to try it. I have a Sig P320 frame coming back soon from an incredibly talented gentleman in Arizona, so you could say I wimped out and left it to the pros.
  20. Yeah I was going to reply earlier but was covered up at work at the time, and say exactly that. If they've been hit this many times without making security improvements, the BATFE is going to get all up in their stuff.
  21. You could look at it from the perspective of only 29 of you cared enough about the issue.
  22. I think you will like them! I really don't know if they do custom orders these days or not, but for stuff like that I've been sending it to my buddy Mark Lancaster at Squared Away customs. His lead times are a little longer than even he would like, but he will make you damn near anything for anything. http://www.squaredawaycustoms.com
  23. Yep, they definitely are. You'll wait a hair longer for them to ship to you than RCS sends out their quck-ship items, but the cost difference was enough to make it a non-issue for me. I think I still had it within 2-weeks. Plus, they often offer discount codes so you can save even more if you hold out for one. I hope they start cranking them out for more firearms.
  24. As promised here are some pics. Ya'll definitely need to get in on these!
