  1. I can definitely see the advantages of the 20rd mag, especially for an AR platform pistol. Nice find!
  2. Bought this for $419 shipped. It's a Ruger 22/45 Tactical post-recall design. For some reason, I have never owned a .22LR pistol of any sort so this fills a small hole in my collection. Other than hopefully being great for cheap plinking, it will be a good way to introduce new shooters to the lifestyle without them being fearful of service calibers. A Deadair Mask-HD suppressor will be ordered for it this week. Hopefully, the HPA or some other legislation goes into effect reasonably soon but, if not, one would rather hope that all of the June/July 2016 rush has been caught up by now and that Form-4 applications will be processed within 6-8 months rather than the 12-months it has been running up until recently. I figure I'll top it off with a Vortex Venom 3MOA red dot in the meantime and just have some fun with it.
  3. Welcome, Lee! Thanks for joining us.
  4. I honestly don't think that applies to most police departments. Countless well-known trainers in the firearms industry, for example, include their status with law enforcement agencies in their curricula vitae. Unless he just outright advertises, "Come do business with me because I am a Seargent with Big Metro Tennessee Police Department Name Here" it really isn't an ethical issue.
  5. Just a small purchase: For a while now I have been running a Wilson Combat Vicker's Elite rear sight on my Glock 19's with an Ameriglo Pro iDot front sight. I ordered and received the Vicker's front fiber optic sight and am going to try that with their rear sight and see if the combination is any more or less accurate for me than the Ameriglo front sight on one of the 19's. More to come.
  6. Now this looks like a lot of fun! It's like the Lemons (not LeMans) racing league, but for rimfire target shooting. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/07/03/potd-topstraps-rimfire-match-won-2x4/
  7. Happy 4th! Smoked and grilled a dozen boneless chicken breasts then vacuum sealed them for future use, then grilled some burgers for immediate consumption. Ready for some fireworks and then a cigar later this evening!
  8. My wife knows that I would watch Gal Gadot knit a sweater for 2-hours if that's all the movie consisted of.
  9. I think it's ironic that we can buy smokes and booze in other states and bring them right back home, but can't do the same with the OTHER things that the BATFE regulates. "Freedom"
  10. I always wear an undershirt even beneath a casual t-shirt, but you are absolutely correct about the texture of that grip against your skin!
  11. I have a Raven Concealment Phantom that's several years old, originally bought for my M&P 40 "1.0" that I use for OWB. But if I were buying one today, I'd probably check out the "OC" from Holster Co. They're running a sale for Independence Day, too. I just received their OC holster for my CZ P10C today and the quality is excellent.
  12. Guys, let's keep this thread relevant to the subject at hand.
  13. Yep, until the new design becomes prolific you want to be sure to buy mags specifically marked for the P-10C if you are ordering online. Eventually, they'll all be cut for the P-07 and P-10C but until then you'd be taking your chances if you just ordered P-07 mags and expected them to fit the other.
  14. You're thinking about the RX models. I haven't seen an X5 package with the Romeo dot, yet. I had a chance to shoot a guy's X5 two weeks ago at the range and it was very nice. Definitely would be one that I would look at for competitive shooting.
  15. I only own two pretty guns and they're both 1911s. Everything else gets used pretty hard around here.
  16. They dropped off the radar here about a year ago. Have you driven by their shop to see if they are even still a brick-and-mortar store? The gun business is really, really soft right now. A lot of smaller shops have folded up and gone under.
  17. About two months ago I sent one of my medium Sig P320 Compact grip modules over to Alex Pappadia at SG Armory to have him work it over with his Stage 1 grip package. This package included slightly reshaping and then stippling the frame to my specifications and a very nice undercut to the trigger guard to allow me to really mash it down into my hand the way that I prefer. All in all, I am extremely happy with the way this turned out. Alex did top-notch work. It feels great in the hand; far better than stock. There is definitely a difference between work done by a guy like Alex who knows what he's doing, and a neophyte with a wood burning tool. http://sgarmory.com/ https://www.facebook.com/thesgarmory/ https://www.instagram.com/sg_armory/
  18. I need to talk with a few folks in charge of various ranges. I'd prefer to do this outdoors.
  19. It's been a while since we have done one of these. A long while! Years! How many of you would be interested in doing a Saturday "Meet n' Greet n' Shoot" here in the mid-state area just outside of Nashville at an outdoor shooting range? If you would be interested, the most likely weekends would be the 8th and the 15th. Vote and let me know which would work best.
  20. I came REALLY close to buying one the past two days. I held off long enough for them to go out of stock, thankfully.
  21. Recent gun-related fun... Ordered another Mike's Special leather IWB holster from TT Gunleather for my CZ P-10C Bought another Comp-Tac kydex single mag clip pouch, this one for the for the P-10C Ordered a HolsterCo "OC" kydex holster for the P-10C (for range use)
  22. Everyone needs more than ONE M&P though.
  23. That is, in fact, the NY1 trigger spring chassis. BLEGH!
  24. I'll let you know. He was very responsive up until this past weekend. Coincidentally I paid him for the work done, last week. Going to send him another email tomorrow and see what the deal is. I received a photo of a grip module last week, so if that was mine, it should be on the way to me by now.
  25. Participants would have to be heavily vetted, but yes - this seems like the logical choice.
