  1. Moving this to another forum. Any other forum...
  2. This doesn't have anything to do with Feedback and Support of TGO and none of us have anything to do with Everything Weapons. They are no longer an advertiser here.
  3. My first AK arrived on Friday. I had a chance to take it to the range yesterday and put a few mags of Golden Tiger through it. It's an exceptionally good rifle! The front sight post is true, the fit and finish of the rifle seem excellent, and it went "bang" every time I pulled the trigger. As you all predicted, I doubt this will be my only or last AK. The more that I read on the history of them and of Mikhail Kalashnikov, the more interested I become. Here's a little pre-shooting pornography for you...
  4. Heh... if I am shooting at something, defensively or offensively, at 300yds away, I have better guns for that.
  5. I'd be lying if I said that movie isn't one of my favorites!
  6. Too late but maybe I'll do that too. lol
  7. ALL DONE! Congrats to our winners! And thanks again to the two extremely generous folks who made this possible!
  8. FJCruising pointed out that he already is a benefactor, which means #13 in the list now takes the slot. That means @Someotherguy gets it!
  9. Alrighty folks... the results are below. If your name is highlighted in yellow, you are among the 12!! I will get these activated later today!
  10. Thanks to all who participated and BIG thanks to the two members who donated to make this possible! I am going to pull together all of the qualified participant names, run them through a random number generator, and see who the 12 lucky members are. Stay tuned.
  11. LOL, I know right? I just never pulled the trigger on them. For the longest time I could have picked up an Arsenal AK for about the same price as the PSA, but then Sandy Hook happened and the whole damn thing came apart. I guess I finally decided that enough was enough.
  12. Paid $599 shipped for a "blem" PSA AK-47 "Moekov". Regularly $730.
  13. Well, you guys are bad influences. Or good, depending on whether you talk to me or my wife first. This is on it's way to me: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psak-47-gb2-liberty-moekov-rifle-516446444.html
  14. Why do I need an AK-47? It's a pretty simple question, really. I think I want one, but I am not really sure why. I have always owned AR platform rifles. All of my gear is for the AR platform. I have been tempted by the AK many times over the years but never dipped my toes into those waters. I have only shot a handful of them over the past two decades. But, again, I think that maybe I want one. Like a lot of folks, I was ready to buy one last October as we ran up toward the election, but then I breathed a sigh of relief when Hillary was kept out of office. Talk me into or out of this.
  15. Welcome to TGO and thanks for becoming a Benefactor right off the bat! That's awesome!
  16. It's even better than you described it the other day. Absolutely beautiful.
  17. Update 7/18/17 -- Thanks to the generosity of another member, we have added TWO MORE memberships!
  18. Keep it coming, folks! Great way to get a Benefactor membership and be able to sell things!
  19. So, I dipped my toes into the "pistol with a red dot sight" waters with the Ruger Mark IV and Vortex Venom RDS. It is about as weird and foreign to me as I expected it to be based on limited use with other people's pistols with RDS. It's fun, but I am undoubtedly faster without the RDS for now. One thing it does very well is to provide immediate feedback when you pull a shot. I called a few flyers today purely based on what I saw in the reticle of that thing, before even looking at the target. It's going to be a good training tool to polish the rough edges on my trigger manipulation. And, frankly, I wouldn't have thought I had many rough edges some 30 years into shooting, 20 of them seriously. They say that adversity introduces a man to himself, and I would add that so does using an RDS on a pistol.
  20. I am normally not much on decorative special edition pistols, but that one could stay if it ever made its way into my house.
  21. Fellas, it's Sunday. I'm sure they were just in town for church.
