  1. I am going to admit right at the start that I am not sure when I am going to do this, but it will be soon. The authors of our forum software have released a new version that has some compelling features that I believe TGO would benefit from. A complete overview of what's new is available at the following link, but I will also mention a few things specifically that I think will be nice for us to have. https://invisioncommunity.com/news/invision-community-42-r1030/ 1. Clubs - Clubs are a brand new way of supporting sub-communities within your site. Many people have requested social group functionality in the past and Clubs are our implementation of this concept. 2. Reactions - Offer more fine-grained sentiments towards content than a simple up/down or 'like'. They are now in common usage on social networks, and so users expect to be able to be more nuanced in their response to something they see. 3. Improved content embedding - This will make adding pictures, videos, etc. to your posts a little more painless. Not only are there improvements for photos linked from our own TGO photo gallery, but also improvements to the way that links to TGO calendar entries look. 4. Fluid Forum View - This is an entirely new feature that allows you to view content from all of our categories in one activity stream. I will admit that the first time that I saw it in use on the IPBoard support site, I was a little puzzled with what advantages it really offered, but the more I played with it the more I liked it. Basically it gets you straight to the forum content in "one view" and lets you skip the structure of the sub-forums, almost the way that viewing New Content does today. There are quite a few other improvements being made in the Version 4.2 software so I would recommend just clicking the first link in this post if you're a geek at heart and want to know more. I can't promise that we will use every new feature on TGO, but I will implement as many of them as makes sense.
  2. Other than a lot of AK gear lately, I finally got around to installing a Ghost Evo Elite 3.5 trigger connector and spring kit in one of my Glock 19's. It required an hour or so of hand-fitting the connector's over-travel arm to make it perfect, but it was time very well spent. The trigger on this thing is just ridiculously good now. 3.5lbs of smooth pull straight to the break without the typical Glock "wall", almost no overtravel, and incredibly short reset. I had heard it was good but had no idea that it would be this good. And a very short video showing the short reset and the smooth trigger pull.
  3. Manticore Arms Nightbrake compensator and flash suppressor installed today...
  4. It's embedded in the first post. It's from Facebook.
  5. The latest video I've seen (as of Aug 3, 2017) on the Hudson H9. Plenty of good overview in here from the company including some really close-up views of the gun. I've got to say that the included Trijicon HD sights, three mags, G10 grip panels, Hogue backstrap and black nitrided stainless steel construction make for a compelling reason to open up my wallet and pay the $1147 MSRP they're asking. I've paid more than that for lesser guns!
  6. I briefly had it mounted on an SBR and it did fine. I went ahead and put my EOTech XPS2 back on that rifle, though, so it's just been kind of sitting there while I debated what to do next. The AK came along at the right time. I'll get more range time with it soon and let you know what I think about it after that. It's a solidly built optic so I am hopeful.
  7. @Dolomite_supafly recommended the RS Regulate optics mount for my new Commie blaster, and I happened to have a Trijicon MRO lying around so...
  8. That's a weird comparison. It's kind of like saying "No, that woman is too attractive. I'd rather have the frumpy one with a lot of cats."
  9. Wow! Fantastic news! I am very happy for you guys. Exciting times are ahead for you indeed.
  10. Moving this to another forum. Any other forum...
  11. This doesn't have anything to do with Feedback and Support of TGO and none of us have anything to do with Everything Weapons. They are no longer an advertiser here.
  12. My first AK arrived on Friday. I had a chance to take it to the range yesterday and put a few mags of Golden Tiger through it. It's an exceptionally good rifle! The front sight post is true, the fit and finish of the rifle seem excellent, and it went "bang" every time I pulled the trigger. As you all predicted, I doubt this will be my only or last AK. The more that I read on the history of them and of Mikhail Kalashnikov, the more interested I become. Here's a little pre-shooting pornography for you...
  13. Heh... if I am shooting at something, defensively or offensively, at 300yds away, I have better guns for that.
  14. I'd be lying if I said that movie isn't one of my favorites!
  15. Too late but maybe I'll do that too. lol
  16. ALL DONE! Congrats to our winners! And thanks again to the two extremely generous folks who made this possible!
  17. FJCruising pointed out that he already is a benefactor, which means #13 in the list now takes the slot. That means @Someotherguy gets it!
  18. Alrighty folks... the results are below. If your name is highlighted in yellow, you are among the 12!! I will get these activated later today!
  19. Thanks to all who participated and BIG thanks to the two members who donated to make this possible! I am going to pull together all of the qualified participant names, run them through a random number generator, and see who the 12 lucky members are. Stay tuned.
  20. LOL, I know right? I just never pulled the trigger on them. For the longest time I could have picked up an Arsenal AK for about the same price as the PSA, but then Sandy Hook happened and the whole damn thing came apart. I guess I finally decided that enough was enough.
  21. Paid $599 shipped for a "blem" PSA AK-47 "Moekov". Regularly $730.
  22. Well, you guys are bad influences. Or good, depending on whether you talk to me or my wife first. This is on it's way to me: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psak-47-gb2-liberty-moekov-rifle-516446444.html
  23. Why do I need an AK-47? It's a pretty simple question, really. I think I want one, but I am not really sure why. I have always owned AR platform rifles. All of my gear is for the AR platform. I have been tempted by the AK many times over the years but never dipped my toes into those waters. I have only shot a handful of them over the past two decades. But, again, I think that maybe I want one. Like a lot of folks, I was ready to buy one last October as we ran up toward the election, but then I breathed a sigh of relief when Hillary was kept out of office. Talk me into or out of this.
