How did you like that 4PM storm today, then? I was able to stand on the front porch and get a pretty wild video of it passing just north of us. Once again.

That was another close one for my neighborhood in rural southern Williamson County. When the alarms went off, we pulled the family into the safe room and then I went to the front and rear porches to see what the weather was really doing in my area. I am almost positive that I saw the tendril from the rotation, backlit by lightning, as the tornado moved from southwest to northeast about 2-3 miles from me. Since we sit on a hill, we have an excellent vantage point. It was a legitimate "Oh wow" moment. Well... maybe I didn't say wow.

I still kick myself for not doing a basement when we built 13 years ago.

The only thing I've personally seen that I like better is glass from Nightforce. But I would have had a hard time spending twice as much to get it.

Magnifiers behind dots are OK but not ideal. I run a Vortex Razr 1x6x24 with a Holosun 508T on an offset mount on one of my rifles. I like that setup better. The LPVO is great for longer, precision shots, and I can cant the rifle slightly and peep through the 508T for faster shooting up close.

This is now fixed. Yes, it tracked back to the databae problem on March 15.

So, I am officially two months / 9 weeks / and nearly 20lbs less of me into it now and my two (sometimes three) days of Krav Maga each week are the best days of the week. I am totally hooked. If you had told me in December that my stamina, agility, confidence, and sense of self-satisfaction would have increased so dramatically I would have told you that you were nuts. Adding to my love of it, I've bought the pads and striking shields needed to come home and show my kids some of it and my oldest loves a good elbow strike or knee strike about as much as I do and she has no remorse for aiming at sensitive spots when she lets a good kick rip.

Nothing has changed on this side. We're still sending emails, albeit not the best way possible. I'm still working on getting us back to a better spot.

In order to pave the way for our future upgrade to the Version 5 of our forum software, I am having to make some changes to the way that we handle tagging threads. Up until this point, a member could basically create their own tag by using the hashtag symbol within a thread. From this point forward, members will have to use a set of pre-defined tags that the staff and I set within the software. I am also removing all instances of miscellaneous tags and settling in on tags that make sense for specific things. For most of you this won't matter at all. Not many people used the feature in the first place. Except... We use tags for our Trading Post forums and that is why this change will be a good thing and not a bad one. We will soon begin using tags that indicate where you as the buyer or seller reside. This should make it a lot easier for folks who browse TGO from a mobile device.

The thing I'm seeing more about in various writings and videos is drone vs. drone interdiction, which becomes even more possible as AI is woven into the mix.

Shooting down someone else's drone, even over your property, is still illegal. Probably shouldn't be, but it is.

The M&P is, by and large, a really good gun too. I don't blame them for pushing it hard in the middle of the P320 debacle because it actually should get more attention than it does. Other than the issue that I had on one of my M2.0 Compacts with the optic screw coming cross-threaded from the factory, I have had zero problems out of them and rather like the trigger feel on the 2.0 models. I used to carry an M&P religiously and have no reason not to do it more than I do now, other than the fact that some of my favorite holster manufacturers don't produce anything for them. S&W really could use a better marketing team, though. The M&P could pick up more market share than it has with better promotion.

That is a solid package. Very similar to my EDC.

S&W needs to stop letting the fudds drive their product strategies. Anyone on TGO who is a serious student of the modern fighting pistol could make the S&W product catalog more relevant to the desires of the buying public and therefore more profitable. I half expect them to trot out a new revolver-fed rifle, that absolutely no one is asking for, at every trade show they attend.

That is NOT proven to be the case with the P320. Again, tolerance stacking within the sear and striker components seems like a possible culprit.

I avoided responding earlier, but the 1911 analogy is flawed. Just stop. Guns can be safe without being made of steel or having grip safeties and thumb safeties. Technology has advanced past that. The supposed problem with the Sig P320 doesn't have anything to do with the trigger being pulled, so a thumb safety isn't the answer and neither is giving it a trigger safety "dingus" like Glocks and others use. Further, the P320 has a firing pin safety, but it inserts less material in front of the striker than a Glock, M&P or similar do. The supposed problem with the P320 has to do with the dimunitive contact patch or engagement area between the sear and the striker, and perhaps even variances in machining tolerances for the bits and pieces that are supposed to work together to prevent the striker from moving forward without a trigger pull causing the sear to fall. This is supposedly why some guns do it and others don't. It's also probably what Bruce Grey and team are inspecting when they review a customer's gun. 1911 and 2011 guys are foaming at the mouth to get in on this topic all across social media because it makes them feel relevant, but it's just noise. The lack of external safeties ain't the problem.

Something is awry, even if it is just that Sig did very little to openly address the issue when it was "lore" and hadn't completely become widely accepted as being true, regardless of the validity of the claims. I have one and I really like it, but I have also sidelined it until I have more reasons than a PR statement to restore my confidence in it.

It's not 100% yet but it's better than it was. Will try to get a better fix in place over the next week.
