  1. Very impressive wheel gun. I'm sure it won't be your last. Well I've always heard people say, "go big or go home". I think we all know which one you did.
  2. That would have been about 1/4 of the store's merchandise wouldn't it?
  3. The price was $699. I assume that didn't include tax and TICS since he didn't say OTD.
  4. I stopped by on Monday and didn't see Shadow so I don't know if it was his day off or if he called in sick. I was looking for a Ruger SR1911 and while they didn't have any on hand, Michael (if I remember correctly) checked on the computer with the distributors and they were out as well. He printed out a sheet with the info on the gun and a written quote. He was very helpful.

  6. Welcome to TN. As far as IDPA, try this club. Music City Tactical Shooters As far as USPSA try this club. NTPS Home Page Both groups shoot at the same location but different sections of the property on different weekends.
  7. Verrrry nice indeed. Did I miss a post about who made the grips?
  8. +1. The key is a quality holster. With the right holster even full size guns are no problem. My full size M&P in a DM Bullard Dual Carry in IWB mode works just fine.
  9. At this point I'm liking Herman Cain. Best thing is, he's not politician. Herman Cain - Presidential Exploratory Committee

  12. +1. You can even get a "head start" by getting there a little before 9:00 to set up your targets, unpack your stuff, etc. There are usually several folks waiting for the 9:00 time to send rounds down range.

  14. I think that's why most of the manufacturers go with the 18.5" just to give a little safety margin when someone measures it. I've heard all kinds of confusion over where the actual measurements are to be taken.

    Russian SKS

This. Especially if the numbers match. I still don't know why I didn't buy a bunch of SKS's when they were $100.
  16. My wife carries one and from what I've read is that spring assist knives like this are legal because; 1) The "device" to help open the blade is actually part of the blade and not a separate piece like a switchblade. 2) The user is the one to start the movement of the actual blade, although a very small amount, which is different from a switchblade. With a switchblade you activate a switch which in turn releases the blade to open. I agree that the kershaw could be mistaken for a switchblade very easily.

    New toy....SR1911

You can count on it. I was considering a Kimber at some point in the future, but this just replaced that in my book.
  18. Too funny!!! made my day. Just wait till she finds out you call her the warden.

    Rusting J-Frame

You can get Duracoat and Gun-Kote supplies from somewhere like Brownells if you want to do it yourself. Each method has advantages/disadvantages. From what I remember their site has the info. They also sell the kits that use an aerosol can as a propellant if you don't have a compressor. You should also be able to find a local shop if you don't want to fool with it since it's such a small piece.

    Rusting J-Frame

You could have the SS thumb piece powder coated or Duracoated to match the rest of the gun.
  22. Can you post some close up pictures of the cylinder? I wouldn't have guessed there was enough extra steel in the top of the cylinder to do that mod.
  23. Gotta love a good sheep shearing demonstration. They also held a midget wrestling event there recently from what I understand. What more can you ask?
