  1. I wanted to show some pictures of a light mount I recently added to my 870 HD shotgun. I saw this mount online from Elzetta and wanted to give it a try. It is US made and I was very impressed on the quality. Top notch. It offers a very secure mount. While I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, I don’t expect any movement even with the small diameter light I have in the mount due to the smaller extra inserts that come in the kit. The position and style offers good light activation by your thumb while your hand is on the forestock. In summary I would recommend at least giving it a look if you need a light mount for your HD shotgun. Elzetta ZSM Tactical Shotgun Flashlight Mount FAQ

Not trying to be a smart @ss but it's worth what you paid for it. As the saying goes, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. Unless you're trying to flip it, don't worry if you paid too much or got a good deal. Just enjoy shooting it.
  3. If you have a choice, I would suggest getting the model withOUT the internal lock. If the shop doesn't have one in stock and if you're not in a hurry, they can order it that way. If you're not familar why I said that about the lock, do some internet searches and you'll find plenty. In summary, they have been known in some cases to fail and "lock" up on their own while in use. It's not that common but has been reported enough to make you wonder.
  4. Double post.
  5. Great gun. See additional comments in the recent thread below. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/59046-s-w-m642-airweight.html

    S&W m642 airweight

I believe you will enjoy your 642 just like the rest of us. It's a great reliable gun but it does take practice to be proficient in using it due to the heavy trigger and short sight radius. Even though it's not a fun range gun, don't let that stop you in putting plenty of rounds down range.
  7. Same thing here...imagine that
  8. Don't sell something you love. As the others said, add the XD.
  9. I experienced the same thing a couple of years ago. It was a downpour all morning and I'm thinking...great day for an auction. Nope, crazy prizes. Total waste of time and gas.

    S&W MP 40?

    This.
  11. Didn't see that anyone linked the article so here it is. Building ammo at home gives more bang for buck | The Tennessean | tennessean.com
  12. Thanks. That's what I was thinking.
  13. On the subject of leaving the gun in the vehicle, say in a console, and someone without an HCP remains in the vehicle, could they be charged with the intent to go armed? If so, I guess technically the owner of the gun would have to unload and separate the ammo to be totally legal, correct?
  14. That's like crazy high. How can they even justify that? I guess some folks are willing to pay that. Several shops in Nashville that are TGO vendors charge TGO members $10
  15. Okay. That makes sense now. I forgot he got a second gun.
  16. I know they can figure out a bunch of things in an autopsy, but how do they know which bullet(s) were from the first shooting or the second shooting? I guess unless the pharmacist told them which rounds went where.
  17. Thanks that might be just the ticket since the 110 is something he probably wouldn't carry on a daily basis. Also getting him a small pocket would take care of that. I went through Case's knives and have a couple of options. I'm going to review the stuff with the other guys at work and see what they think. That is very nice knife but wanted to stick with folders. Thanks anyway.
  18. I just saw this on the Apex site. Anybody on here done one yet? https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid49.html
  19. Thanks I'll check that out as well.
  20. Yes, thanks OhShoot I was not aware either. I'll definately look at that option.
  21. Thanks. Both of those look like options.
  22. Not that it really matters for the suggestions but the gift is for a guy I work with and not my father. That knife is very unique but since he's not really into guns he probably wouldn't like that one. Thanks anyway.
  23. Probably not since I think that detracts from the look of the gift. We have a 3D prototype modeling machine at work that will make a special presentation box. It has the abillity to print text into the part so that's what we would do for that part of the gift. I looked that one up and would agree that it is very nice but we can't spent that much. Thanks anyway. If I find the perfect one we might be able to go a little higher than the low $200's but not by much. Maybe $275 tops.
  24. Hey guys I'm not very knowledgeable on knives so I’m looking for some advice. I’ve got a guy that is retiring in my department at work. Several of us were going to go in together on a gift. I was thinking he might like a knife. · Needing to hopefully stay in the low $200 range. · Looking for something unique. I was thinking he would prefer something with wood on the handle since he does a lot of wood working, etc., but since he’s a machinist/fabricator he might like some that blends wood and metal on the handle. · He’s not a tactical kind of guy so I was steering away from that style of knife. · Looking for a folder, so no fixed. · Looking for something on the small to mid size so it’s easily carried. It doesn’t have to be a single blade since he currently has a smaller size multi blade pocket knife. I’ve started looking and found maybe a couple of options but would like some suggestions. I found these two that might be an option. I’m not familiar with the Lion Steel brand. Are they a good brand? It would be great to get something local so I can see it in person before purchasing but I can order online if I need to. I'm just starting to look so I haven't checked local stores yet.
