I was digging them too until I found out they only hold 6 rounds. I'll stick with my revolver.

Works for me.

Oh, I'm not saying that I've found a way either, lol. I just happen to have a wife that wants to be more self-sufficient as we get older, so she wants to clean her own guns.

That's the one. Since you brought up Pizza Perfect, I'm good with that too. People might like that better anyway. Depending on night, there's usually not a rush on the tables there either unless someone's having a kid's birthday or something. Pizza Perfect is open till 10 whereas City Limits is 9, so that might be better. I'm open on the day to meet (except Wednesday) so let's go with the day that gets the most votes. My order of preference would be Friday, Sat, Thursday.

I should be able to meet any evening after work this week except Wednesday.

I'm not sure if there is a fee or not to use the meeting room(s) but what about the Bellevue Community Center? Or I guess we could meet at a restaurant? If we wanted to do that, maybe City Limits since there is not a rush to turn over the tables there.

I know of at lease one more Bellevue person that is interested that is real close to me. Since Nashville is a pretty spread out place it might make sense to "sub-divide" into regions. Not saying to become a bunch of isolated islands of people, but there maybe cases where more localized coordination is needed. Maybe North, South, East, West if there are enough people interested. Just a thought.

Well the first thing I noticed as being wrong when I read the post was that you said "you" were cleaning your wife's gun. You need to make her clean her own gun. Regarding your question on the picture, I think that's normal. Both of the 642's my wife and I own have the same look. I believe it happens during the process of the barrel being screwed into the frame and tightened to the correct vertical position.

Interested. In Bellevue.

I'm interested. I think the TGO map that was started a while back might come in handy. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/27061-tennessee-gun-owners-map.html

+1 on the dry firing. This link might be of some help. Highly Recommended Trigger Control Drills
-
+1 to that. I've somewhat relaxed a little after reading the book over the winter. I was paranoid for several months worrying about all the different things I needed to gather up. Still got more work to do though, but not obsessing about it now.

Ha. Same thing I was thinking.

I'd like to know more details on hitting the two men with one shot.

First time in Tennessee! (and some questions)

You've done a good amount of research. I'd say more of an over rated tourist attraction. I've only been once several years ago. The food is decent but not cheap. Family style serving, so all you can eat. Each table has a hostess that tells you the history. I wouldn't make a special trip just for that but if you do go to Jack Daniels and do the tour it might be worthwhile depending on your likes. Some people really like it, me not so much. I did want to tell you that I really like to travel to Sweden. I've gotten to travel to several countries and Sweden is my favorite. I even drive a Volvo. LOL. I've been there about 5 or 6 times to work with a heater supplier for my company. We stay in Vasteras due to where the company is located. Good luck when you come to the US. -
I can see both sides of the story. I'm not a business owner but feel they have the right in this case to opt out. Businesses are given the right to conduct their business dealings as they wish as long it doesn't violate laws written to protect certain classes of people, handicap, etc. Currently there is no law that says they must honor the carry permits on their property. Just like someone's home, you have the right to ask someone to leave. They can ask people to leave if they are creating a problem for other customers. They can choose not to sell to someone for that same reason. You are well within your right to be in that store by law but you can be asked to leave. Gun shops can choose not to sell a firearm to someone even though they can pass a background check if they feel the person is up to no good or display odd behavior. Maybe they're just odd people that aren't a danger to other people, but the shop has the right to do as they feel is the right thing for their business. I know that may not be the best analogy but said it to show business are given the right to conduct their business as they wish in most cases. Right now gun rights are looked at more as a social thing rather than a legal issue unfortunately. Just my opinion.

Please post up some pictures. What are details on how it was configured?

Does the LC9 have the same "half mile long" trigger pull like the LCP and the PF9? I'm assuming it does but just wondering.
-
I've been "ciphering" on that. If I can't, I think I'm just going to keep the Yugo since I spent a good deal of time and pride on the refinishing.
-
Yes the Yugo is a much more "beefier" gun compared to the Norinco. I guess in some ways that's better, other ways maybe not. The Paratrooper's lighter weight and shorter length is quite noticeable. In terms of quality I give the advantage to the Yugo IMHO. The one area that sometimes is an issue with the Yugo's is the gas shutoff port to switch between regular firing and the grenade launcher. If the piston is worn you get blowby and it doesn't cycle correctly during normal firing. Mine is currently not having this problem but can occur. I don't launch grenades so right now it's just extra weight and length. It is one of the few SKS's that qualifies to be a C&R firearm IIRC. The Paratrooper feels like a SBR compared to the Yugo which has really grabbed my interest. Don't get me wrong I like the Yugo too.
-
Hey guys. I've currently got a Yugo that I've had about 1 1/2 years. I posted some refinishing pictures here last year. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/34369-my-first-sks-refinishing-job.html I found a Norinco Paratrooper that I was hoping to trade even for. Not sure if they will go for it or not. It is in good condition and I know they are harder to find than Yugo's. I like the Yugo but really took a liking to the Paratrooper due to the lighter weight and shorter length. Buying the Paratrooper outright and keeping the Yugo is not an option. Would this be a good trade or should I just keep the Yugo.

Nah...people just agree with the OP's thread title.
