    "The Beast"

"Beast" sounds like a good description just looking at the picture.
  2. I'm doubtful that it's a 40 min drive from Dickson but a lot of us in the Nashville/Franklin area use CHMR The only change to the range times shown on the website is he is now closed on Thursdays. It's always closed the first full weekend of the month.
  3. +1 on that. That's the same reason I think an OWB for a J-Frame doesn't make a lot of sense. Might as well carry a bigger gun. If I've got my J-Frame on me it's either in my pocket or my ankle as a BUG.
  4. Since cars are more reliable now, on some models 100K is just getting broken in good. I despise buying cars so I've taken the stance of running them until their broke and can't be reasonably fixed. Kia makes a decent vehicle for the money from what I've seen. The Soul does have interesting styling.
  5. Wikipedia says 37 million. Yea...Get a life people. Climberscott, how about some more pictures?
  6. Interesting. If true, my guess would be somewhere down River Road. Every where else is pretty much residential.
  7. This maybe a dumb question but couldn't it be welded up and remachined? I'm not an AR person but it doesn't look like that part of the upper doesn't see gas pressure but I may be wrong.
  8. Wasn't aware of that, do explain further.
  9. ^^^^ Mike, thanks for the link. Looks like that might come in handy at some point. Just as a heads up to folks that might plan on siphoning fuel from one of your cars to put in another, some cars have anti-siphoning devices.
  10. Haven't you heard that the economy is bad right now and everyone is expected to help others out. A vote was taken and the group decided that some more needy folks deserved those features. Thank you for your patience...and oh, keep the change.
  11. Just wanted to share a video that is cool IMO. Take the music from my favorite movie series - Jason Bourne Series and add it to some wickedly fast riding on the streets of the Isle of Man and you have a win. Keeping the bike under control while topping the hills at those speeds is impressive. Hope maybe even you Harley guys can enjoy.
  12. Looks good. You will have fun for sure. Same subject different model, is $199 too much to pay for a M44 version?

    6 vs 4 inch

Based on what you said you wanted to use it for, go with the 6". I've got a Ruger Security Six (predecessor to the GP100) with the 6" barrel and it's a tack driver.

    Casing Ejection

Did it happen to be an aluminum case Blazer round? If so, those can sometimes be tougher to eject than brass cases.
  15. Except for the four decapitated bottles.
  16. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbEj7doRMrc
  17. You were on such a good roll, did you go a buy a lottery ticket? If so, have you checked the winning numbers yet?
  18. ^^^^ Sounds like good advice.
  19. Did you just polish the bluing off the barrel and receiver to get that finish? If so, give some details if you did anything special except a lot of hard work. I'd like to see some more pictures if you wouldn't mind. Pretty cool Mosin.
  20. A guy at work uses Discover and they have that ability. Been thinking about getting one myself for on-line purchases.
  21. That's how I understand it as well.
  22. Ah. I was forgeting the extra cylinder.
  23. Ok...I'm going to show my ignorance. I understand that you use a moon clip to shoot rimless rounds out of a DA revolver, but how do you do it with a SA? I'm assuming each round would have to have it's own single round moon clip maybe?
  24. It does happen. Something similiar happened to me but I didn't realize it until about 25 years later. Bought a Ruger Security Six back in 1984 which was about 2 years before the GP100 was introduced. A couple of years ago I was on the Ruger website just looking through the manual and product history section. Just for fun I looked up my serial #. Made in late 1975. I had no idea that it was 9 years old at the time. Nothing was said at the time of purchase. It was ordered by the shop for me. Not sure if they knew it or not. Probably not since they had to order it so it wasn't sitting around in their shop all that time. Same thing might have been the case with the shop you got the shotgun from. I'm doubting anyone is going to let a firearm sit on their shelf all that time. Probably that old when they got it from their distributor.
