    Baby Eagle .40

Not sure if you are looking at the polymer or metal frame. My son has the full size polymer version in .40 and likes it. Good luck finding the brass.
  2. How about VZ Grips? The come in all flavors. Home Ever since I saw Spoolie's SR1911 with a pair I've really liked them. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/57608-more-ruger-sr1911-love.html
  3. Protecting the store's property wouldn't have been a very wise thing to do. It didn't appear they were endangering anyone's life while they were in the store. It was only after they had been chased outside did the weapon appear if I understand correctly.

    new XD40

Nice. I'm sure you will enjoy. Just in case you didn't see the current promotion, if you bought this after 9/1 you qualify for 3 free mags and a mag pouch.
  5. Gotta love this guy.

    Mr. Mom?

You are indeed lucky. They grow up so fast so make the most of the time while they're young. You will never regret.
  7. For me an AK needs to be chambered in either the 7.62 or 5.45 round just like a 1911 should be a .45.
  8. Nice looking revolver Mike. That thing looks no where near it's true age. Sweet.
  9. Thanks to everyone for the comments so far. As I mentioned my main concern is long term outages with the sewer. You guys with septic tanks have an advantage for sure as long as you have a good water source. Yea I was thinking the same thing. I now have that on my list to aquire. Good advice.
  10. Welcome. My brother lives in Columbia. Nice place to be except if you're trying to get around town during Mule Day.
  11. Agree. But wouldn't the fact that they did fire, turn armed robbery into something worse? It might be a stretch but wouldn't that qualify for attempted murder?
  12. I couldn't find where this had really been discussed so I'm tossing this out there. What are you going to do if the toilets are out of commission for a long time? We talk about food, water, ammo, etc. but what about the sh*! that just came off the fan? I got to thinking about this after listening to a guy I know that is a retired ATF and now a consultant for Homeland Security. His comment was about how vunerable our waste water treatment plants are and how much havoc it would cause if it got disabled. Then I realized I've got no plan right now. I found this one article that was a good summary. Human Waste and Disposal While I totally agree that having an outhouse is the best long term option, I'm not really able to put one in where I currently live. Do any of you that are in rural areas already have an outhouse? Although not the best option, I'm guessing the bucket method might work well enough at least short term. Any thoughts on the fecal matter?

    Johnny Cash

I like all of his old stuff the best but I've taken a liking to this one.
  14. If the threaded barrel is of no use, don't let that cloud your decision. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago looking at the XDm and the M&P. I went with the M&P since it felt better in my hands. The fact that it was US made sealed the deal.
  15. I need some clarification on the com-block accesories comment above. If you're converting a Saiga, you're going to have to go with enough US parts to get it 922r compliant. Same would be for a WASR that started out 922r compliant out of the box. If you start swapping out parts for com-block then you're going to have to watch the parts count. Correct, or am I missing something? s
  16. Very powerful story indeed. Thanks for the post.
  17. Reloaders Bench is probably your best option closest to Nashville.

    S&W 442

I don't want to necessarly talk you out of a shoulder holster but I think there are several better options. As people have said the snubbie excels as a pocket gun. It can travel just as easy in most coat pockets as it does in your pants pocket. The advantage with either pocket carry is you can actually get a grip on the pistol if things start looking a little odd but you're not sure. No one gives it a second thought with you hand in your pocket. Your hands are many times in your coat pocket anyway. Get caught off guard and you can fire from the coat pocket if you had to. IMO, save the shoulder holster for the big guns.
  19. Not sure if this sounds familiar to anyone?

You can use the link in my sig line. You should see a group tools tab in the upper right portion of the page. "Join group" is at the top of the list.

    S&W 442

Everyone needs a snubbie. I usually carry a 642 on a daily basis. I believe you'll like it. There should be numerous threads on here about the 442 and 642. I also started a J-Frame social group on here that might have some helpful info. It's not a range gun for sure but you will still need to shoot it enough to stay proficient. It takes some practice to get use to the heavy trigger. Dry firing does help smooth out the trigger a little. Enjoy.
  22. Agreed. It just takes someone willing to take the lead and do the leg work.
  23. Below is a link to the group that was organized. You might want to look through this to get a head start on your project. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/groups/tgo++hcp+adopt++roadway.html Our group did one clean up last year. TDR that was organizing it had to back out and 56FordGuy took it over at that point. Below is the link to the thread where we did the clean up and the picture of the TGO sign. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/48378-november-7th-highway-cleanup.html
  24. I probably stated my position incorrectly on the J Frame and an OWB. I have in the past, and probably will at some point in the future, carried my J Frame at times IWB and OWB. For me I can actually conceal a full size M&P in an IWB as well as I do with a J Frame in an OWB.
