  1. I bought the above sight (in orange) but ended up taking it back to the store only because on my 870 there wasn't enough room to fit it on the end of the barrel without hitting the + 2 round tube clamp and sling mount. See the attached thread I posted reviewing a light mount and you'll see what I mean. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/59422-870-hd-shotgun-elzetta-light-mount.html I did a quick trial fit without the sling mount and it fit very tight and really gives you a great sight picture. It did work as advertised. Can't beat the price and non-permanent install.
  2. What's your current length of pull?
  3. Agreed this is your best option for the 500 that has the top mounted safety. I had a similar situation with my 870 but it was with my wife. I did put on the Blackhawk/Knoxx collapsable stock like in the second picture. I didn't use the forestock that came with it since I have a side saddle. It was enough pull reduction for my wife. As Dolomite mentioned this is not an advisible option for the 500 due to the stafety position. Would a vertical handle foregrip be an option? I haven't researched it so I don't know if that is a dumb idea or not...so don't flame me guys.
  4. Interesting that you brought this up. TGO member DAdams had a post reply to another M&P thread the other day and mentioned he had bought a 9mm conversion from Storm-Lake. I've got a PM into him to see how it worked. You can go their site and build the barrel just like you want (within their normal options). NOTE: you have to choose the 9mm conversion barrel, not the standard 9mm barrel. StormLake | Barrels built for accuracy
  5. They made the TV circuit a while back, even got in a McDonald's commercial doing it. A bunch of people copied them. These guys were my favorite copycats.

    S&W M&P

Please elaborate. Don't they use the same trigger? Were both bought new?
  7. What about "stop it" didn't you understand? You're killing me.

    S&W M&P

There different parts available depending on what you're after but a lot of people go with the kit below. http://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html

Yep, the Apex parts put the icing on the cake for sure.

I'd go with the M&P if it was me. My hands just don't like the feel of the Glocks.
  11. Stop it you guys...you're making me want one of these. One in 9mm would be cool for sure. Everyone I hear that has one really likes it.
  12. Not really near you but I get most of my stuff at Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet
  13. I used to shoot trap a little back in college (25 years ago) with a club. Fun times for sure. At the time I really wanted a Browning Citori O/U but couldn't afford one. I used an 870 Trap model, 30" barrel, full choke, monte carlo stock that did the trick just fine. It really adds fuel to the trash talk when you can out shoot folks with the high end guns by using a "common man's" gun. I sold it a couple of years ago to fund another gun purchase since I never shot it much anymore. I miss it from time to time. Maybe one day I'll get that Citori...oh well.
  14. Digital single lens reflex
  15. Great job. Nice contour on the grip side to get more finger room to grab the grip.
  16. The version I heard that's not being advertised is that at the beginning when Bush was in office they set up an agreement to be out by the end of 2011. (Probably at that time they thought that was enough time.) The current administration was trying to get an extension on the agreement and Iraq wouldn't agree to continue to give our soliders immunity. If they killed anyone it would be treated as a murder. Rightfully so, Obama said "no go", and we'll be out by the end of the year as the original agreement said. I haven't had a chance to verify if this is true.
  17. Most everything politicians do are geared towards a reelection bid.
  18. Welcome. I'm guessing there's a story behind your screen name.
  19. That Mitt Romey one had me crying.
  20. Too funny. Thanks for posting.
  21. Enjoy! Which CT grips do you have, I couldn't tell by the picture?
  22. I've stayed out of this thread until now and previous threads like this because, at the end of all of this, I doubt if anyone's opinions are changed after the discussion and I don't wish to waste my time trying to convince someone of my position. My intent is not to argue with anyone, it's just to state some comments on me as a cyclist. I try to stay off roads that I know are very busy and have limited shoulders. I plan another route. Most of the time you can get there another way. I stop at red lights. When pulling up to a stop light where cars are already present, I stop at the back car and don't ride to the front unless I will be turning right. I give hand signals. I stop at stop signs if cars are present. If I see that they want me to proceed without stopping, I wave and say thanks. I don't ride in the middle of the road. I will ride as close to the shoulder as is safe. As stated before there is a lot of debris that motorist don't see so don't assume it's safe to ride there. I don't ride two abreast when cars are trying to pass. That's why we holler, "car back" and go to single file. I get pissed when I'm in my car and see a cyclist blow through a red light or do something stupid because I know motorist view all of us in the same light. It makes me look bad. I said all of this not to pat myself on the back, it's just to point out all cyclists are not jerks in regards to traffic laws. Just like not all motorists are jerks. Almost without exception all cyclists are motorist, but not all motorist have been cyclist. Don't be so quick to judge cyclists until you've been the one riding on the saddle.
  23. Very nice indeed. Looking at the second picture chaps my butt. Nice looking gun and Ruger has to go and engrave a paragraph on the left side of the barrel.
  24. I should say so. Your posting times indicate you bought it the same day as your first post. Nice pistol. I've had my eye on one of those for a while now but it's a few spots down on the wish list. I read a review a while back and it got a good review.
  25. I haven't ever compared the compact grip tool to a full size, what's the difference? I would think the part you see behind the mag would be the same. Maybe just the rod is shorter. If so, just shorten the rod on a full size lanyard tool and there you go.
