  1. I'm highly surprised that it took place at a fine establishment such as Walmart.
  2. When we go as a family we end up shooting quite a number of different ones, so usually everyone ends up helping. Either way it's not a big deal for me. Like Mike.357 said, we don't keep score.
  3. Holy cow. You got some grow lights going?
  4. FWIW I compared some 380's that I had around. On my wife's LCP it would eject the live Critical Defense rounds pretty well. It did hang on the Magtech's two times out of about 8-10 tries. Magtech SD HP rounds ran about 0.972-0.974, PMC FMJ 0.973-0.974, Critical Defense 0.975-0.980 just because of the rubber insert. If you squeezed down on the insert to get to the end of the bullet it measured about the same as the Magtech's.
  5. Well at least this time it's not a, "I hate cyclist, why can't they ride somewhere else" thread.
  6. I can't see them either but found them with a search. That Smith was fubarred for sure.
  7. Huh? Nevermind. I went back and read Ebow's posts and figured it out.
  8. It's been hit or miss on the level of service I've received at the H'ville G&L so I don't like to stop in. I've never had a bad experience at D&T Arms. Great guys for sure. I refer all my friends to them.
  9. I disagree. I copied below what I said earlier in post #13. Yep. Ask me how I know...cause my EDC S&W 642 is currently at S&W with a broken hammer pivot pin. Snapped off from the frame. How do you like them apples? I don't consider a S&W 642 to be crappy revolver and mine broke. At first I thought it was a freak occurance but a quick google search told me I'm not alone. I will still use it as my EDC when it comes back but a small piece of mind in regards to "revolvers never fail" reliability for me is gone.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. I put a request in at the library for the book. Looks like about a week's wait. Hey, might as well take advantage of my tax dollars.
  11. Times like that are when something like a Crimson Trace laser come in handy. What distance were you shooting?
  12. Yep. Ask me how I know...cause my EDC S&W 642 is currently at S&W with a broken hammer pivot pin. Snapped off from the frame. How do you like them apples?
  13. I think what Sonny was saying was for just a little more you start to get into a better class of guns. Ones that are better suited as a EDC piece since the OP they said they were interested in getting one. One pistol that's a little better now might save having to buy a second pistol down the road. But back to the original question, of the two I would go with the Ruger.
  14. I was wondering the same thing...Anyone?...Anyone?
  15. I just wanted to get clarification your comment on a consensual search and trying to stop it once it's started. If prior to asking to stop it, maybe they find something like Dolomite said "was not what it appeared to be", wouldn't that negate your right to stop it at that point because then it turned into PC in their eyes?
  16. Yep. About 5 years ago I spent 2 weeks in China, with some of it in the mainland region. I've always been appreciative of what I have but it really drove it home for sure. Spending time over there would sure shut some whiney babies up. Having to squat over a hole in the ground to take a dump is eye opening. I was so glad to get back home even with that short amount of time. I can't imagine spending a year.
  17. I've got the 6" model so mine's too big to conceal. My Dad does have a 4" GP100 that he is considering carrying but doesn't have a holster yet. What holster did you order? I recommended that he go with IWB just to make it a little easier to conceal but he wants to use an OWB for more comfort. It's probably possible for the winter but not sure about summer with a OWB.
  18. What barrel length model do you have?
  19. I don't have either one but would go for the EMP. Several of the Solo reviews I've read were somewhat mixed. It sounds like the Solo is very picky on ammo. See the link below for the details on what Kimber says. It's on the right side of the page. What it says to me is that it's tuned to run on SD ammo, range ammo may not work. 20. There's hope for you after all. Everyone needs a good snubbie
  21. Agreed, but it's obvious that some people don't do a very good job at using the search function or even try.
  22. I don't remember for sure but I would guess between 1.5" and 1.75".

Maybe it's an acquired taste and you just haven't given it enough time Sometimes thinner is not always better and a slightly thicker profile fills your hand better with the small guns. I haven't held this one yet to see if it is indeed too wide as some have commented.
