What do you look for and how does one determine its staked properly?

That's what I was thinking too.

I ran into one at Academy Sports in Rivergate about 2 weeks ago. They only had one and were asking $399. I really felt good in the hands. It took quite a bit of will power not to buy it but I want to give it a little more time in the market before I get one just in case there are any bugs to work out.

The person checking receipts at the door is only seeing if the receipt shows the correct time/date stamp. They aren't verifying all the stuff in your cart matches the receipt so your point above isn't valid IMO.

I'd go back and check with Nashville Spring and see if they can discount any given the price at U-Haul. One thing though, are both places quoting the same hitch? If not that might be the difference. Nashville Spring does good work based on the two vehicles they've done for me.

Hey, you do what it takes on the hauling part. That reminds me of a story from a friend that had a john boat that was tied to the roof like that. He and his friend were driving down the road and suddenly the front ropes disappeared. They turn at look at each other for a moment, get a horror look on their faces, turn quickly to look to the rear and see the boat tumbling behind them. They went back and there was nothing to salvage. Moral of the story, make sure your ropes are tight. Each one thought the other went back to tighten the front ropes.

I agree with the above comments but wanted to throw more change into the pot. You mentioned wanting to lose some weight and started running. Just some general questions to think about before my comments on the bike. Just out curiosity what made you interested in road bicycling? I mainly ask this to gauge your interest level. Many people have an interest, go out and drop a lot of money on a bike, ride it a couple of times and then it gets put in the corner. One thought is a number of local shops have rental road bikes and you might want to rent for a couple of days to help you determine if it's something you want to do long term. (If you do make sure the LBS sets you up with a proper fitting bike.) As Lumber Jack mentioned checking out Craigslist or a LBS bulletin board can be a good option as long as you know the frame size you need. Do your homework on frames, components, and get advice from a cyclist friend. Here is a link to help you determine a proper frame size. You start the calculator on the bottom right side of the page. http://www.competiti...ALCULATOR_INTRO I got my bike off a LBS board and it worked out great for me since I got almost three times the bike for my money, YMMV. So buying used is a good way to get a lot more bike for the money but since you said you don't know anything about bikes, find a friend that does or have a LBS check it out prior to the purchase. If you want new, the work with a LBS rather than purchasing online. As others have said fit is extremely important since you usually end up riding for hours at a time. Get a bike that doesn't fit and it will end up in the corner of the garage. Do you have friends that currently ride or know a local club you can hook up with? Hooking up with a group is the best way to ensure you will keep riding and keep your motivation high. Road cycling is much more of a social sport than most people think. Riding by yourself is boring. Do you live in a bike friendly area for riding or will you have to drive your bike to get to a good area? Obviously if you can ride off directly from your house the more likely you will ride. On the bike, buy as much bike as you can afford but don't overspend as you might lose interest. Bikes don't hold resale value very well so you will take a bath if you decide to sell. Don't forget about gear when setting your budget. Helmet, gloves, shoes, clothes, pump, maintenance items, bike carrier if you don't have a suitable vehicle to carry it, etc. blah, blah, blah. The component group (derailleurs, crank, cassettes, brakes, shifters) the bike has is very important and is the one thing that greatly affects the price of the bike. You go with a cheap group and you'll regret it greatly. That's about all I've got at the moment. One thing that you will find is cyclists are a very helpful group of folks and are more than willing to help you because most of us were helped by someone else when we started. Good luck.

Google Censors All Gun, Ammo and Accessory Results
Trekbike replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Am I correct in assuming that everyone that says they are dumping Google that this includes not using an Android phone? I could be wrong but with everything seeming to be moving to the mobile world that dumping an Android phone does much more than using a different browser. My company supplied phone is an Android so that's not an option for me. While I don't agree with what Goggle is doing, they are so ingrained into the phone world and Internet that it's very hard to have a true Google boycott. -
Dang...I'd say so. One of my wife's tall 3" diameter candles out on our deck did the same thing.

USDA Suggests Food Stamp Parties and Games to Increase Participation

Control the speech (via having to be PC) and eventually you can control the population's thoughts. -
Being that it was your dad's gun I'd leave it as is and buy a tactical 870, but that's me.

If you get the Vaquero I would get the blued version due to it's style. If you get the Blackhawk I'd get the stainless.

I'd suggest going to a salvage yard. Many of them are linked together now and can locate parts at other lots.

This will be a blow for the Second Ammendment fight
Trekbike replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
I found the wording of the first sentence to be odd, "...accused of using a gun and ammo to kill a man..." Other than "pistol whipping" someone to death, doesn't it go unsaid they used ammo? -
Yep. D&T charges $15 if you're on TGO.
-
Totally agree with you TNWNGR. I'd like to have one but only after I've crossed off the other things higher on the wish list.

Looks like he did some nice work there.

Speaking of coffee, do you guys drink it for the taste, the caffeine, or both? I'm pushing 50 and never took to coffee. My caffeine choice was diet sodas. I was to the point if I didn't have my diet coke by a certain time in the morning I'd end up with a headache most of the day. Decided I didn't like to be that dependent on it so I gave it up. I will drink a diet caffeine free soda maybe about 1-2 times a month now. Most of the time I just drink water or caffeine free tea. Glad I gave up the caffeine so now all I get is what is naturally in the foods I eat.

As OS said, Terro is some good stuff. They take it back to the nest, or whatever you call where they live.

Appears to be a Volvo I'm thinking. The red seat belt release buttons look just like mine, along with the way they do their seat stitching.

Critical Defense here when I carry a LCP.

Yep. I run the LG-405`s and I'm very happy. It makes tbe gun much more shootable at longer distances.

Nice work. Looks quite tidy.

Must be gearing up for the social unrest on the horizon.

Yea. Kind of like thieves that steal stuff in "broad daylight". Look like you supposed to be doing something and nobody cares.
