Welcome. As far as the gun buster signs, there are no rules that I've seen. I've run across some that are quite large and easy to see and some very tiny on a clear background and easily overlooked. They are supposed to be displayed in the entrance area but not a specific location. Check out the prohibited carry location sub forum and it might help give you a better idea if someone has seen that a specific place is posted.

That gives me an idea. A proper hood ornament is probably the only thing left that has not been attached to an AR. I'm thinking Mercedes as it could also be used as a front sight. Pictures and a range report are now required. Also, you can use a Honda emblem for the rear sight.

Assuming you don't want to buy a new pistol since your post wasn't phrased that way, why not carry both? Choose the one you're more comfortable with as the primary and the other as a new york reload.

As far as getting crap in the cleat, I've always used the cafe covers on these to keep them clean and save the cleat from wear since they are more expensive to replace than the triangular cleats.

  For me the biggest advantage was the ability to vary the amount of float from 0 to 15 degrees and set were you want to float (inboard vs. outboard).  Prior to that I had some problem with my left knee with "Look" style pedals (was actually using Shimano Ultegra).  No knee issues after going to Speedplay   Also, the two sided entry is nice along with the three axis adjustment (front/back, side to side, rotational angle) so you can really dial it into your riding style and comfort.  I would definitely recommend the Zero model if you go this route.  There are several other advantages listed below in the link.   I've got the Chrome-Moly since it's the cheapest choice.     http://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.zero 

Congrats! Nice ride for sure. Speaking of peddles, what brand do you use? I converted to Speedplay Zero's several years ago and will never go back to the Look style pedals.

If my estimation of the target size is close and my math is right, the angle difference between the top and bottom of the target at 1000 yards is basically 0.05 degrees.

  I know what you mean.   That meeting with Chip Cain put a lot of worry in my mind of how the legal system and jury can go against you even if you are in the right in a defensive shooting just based on perception.  So much so I decided to join the Armed Citizen Legal Defense Network just as a small step in legal protection should something happen.
